  • A quick how-to guide to helping you filter out and navigate through all the tint brands/options you'll find yourself facing when looking to get tint done on your car. We talk about the main categories of tint (dye, ceramic, metallic, and IRD) and what benefits each one offers, so you can decide if it's right for you.
    We also talk about key specs to look for so you can effectively compare two different films and narrow down which one will perform better for your needs.
    Tinting can get really scientific, but the points brought up in this video should be more than enough to help you go to your local tint shop, check out their selection, and quickly rule out what you don't want and be happy with your choice.

    I have three cars with three different setups. My favorite is 70, 30, 20 in ceramic. It's a good balance of cops leaving you alone, looks, and nighttime visibility. My 35, 15, 5 looks great, but I hold my breath passing cops and it's hard to see a night.

    Appreciate the content! You mention that ceramic tint is mixed with other things, can you elaborate more? I think you mentioned ceramic can have dye as well. Also, does ceramic tint hinder cell phone reception?

    • @EVSMotors
      @EVSMotors  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Most "ceramic" tints out there are really just dye films with some % of ceramic. This allows them to still call the films "ceramic" despite not being 100% ceramic. This is why despite 100's of ceramic brands out there, they never block the same amount of heat.

    Question: I got 5% ceramic tint film on my car and on the first day it seemed kinda dark on the outside and inside *but* it was still somewhat see through and I could see the steering wheel the dashboard the radio and it was probably because the front windshield wasn't tinted and the light from the front illuminated the cabin making it more see through
    But on the rear it was kinda harder to see through it was a bit more darker than the front and on the inside it looked like a lightish bluish tint color I felt like it was still see through from the inside because of how clear the tint looked at night it wasn't a problem seeing out because it still seemed decently see through
    -
    My friend has 5% dyed tint on his car no front windshield tint
    And it is noticably more darker on the front than on my cars 5% ceramic I could barely see the top of the steering wheel and that's about it everything else was dark it was truly *limo tint* and the back was completely dark I couldn't see anything unless if I put hands on the glass to see through it and then when I was inside it felt a lot more darker it was more dimmed in the cabin of his car the windows from the inside look like a black tint film felt dark inside compared to mines but at night it was so dark could barely even see out of was just too dark
    My question is why was his dyed 5% tint darker than my 5% ceramic tint?
    -

    • @EVSMotors
      @EVSMotors  ปีที่แล้ว

      Different cars have different windows in terms of size, amount, placement, and angle and those affect how light/dark it can look or you probably didn't get 5% tint if there's such a huge noticeable difference between your car and your friend's only way you can tell is put a light meter on your windows and see if it reads 5% or less
