Keep our tips in mind when choosing a tour is Isla Salango. We were really disappointed, in both ourselves for not asking the right questions and the tour operator for charging $40/pp for a subpar experience compared to what you get elsewhere along the coast.
The next video in Machalilla really makes up for this!

Hi I'm Ayngelina and my full time job is my site BaconisMagic.ca it's all about the best food around the world and how to make it at home.
In 2010 I left a job in advertising, 5 year relationship and sold all my possessions to travel the world. In the last ten years I've had some crazy experiences and even owned a restaurant in Toronto at one time. And prior to 2020 I had been based in Cuba.
When the world shut down I returned to Canada and decided to teach myself video. I wanted to share more than just words and photos but to show people the adventures I have learning about food around the world.

Love your face when eating the papaya. We find our papaya freshly picked from the tree tastes similar to a peach.

Hi Anyelina, nice video, @20.03 those are guavas or like we call them is Spanish guayavas.
So apparently the lines were next to the guayaba and I completely mistook them. Thank you!
hi there beautiful!! Me and my husband are loving your videos of the Ecuatorian Coast , specially Santa Elena and Manabi ( planing to move there soon , God will. About the fruit Malku65 is right , that is a guayaba , green outside and creamy pink inside , so sweet and delicious ( sometimes they have some extra protein lol .. fruit flies larvae 😉)

That place was great! I love the beach. Here you really see how locals live. Definitely in our list to visit and it's not that far from Cuenca 👏

Thanks for highlighting the local fruit selections. We don't have an answer to the question on the green lime looking fruit with the belly button, however the effectiveness of the fruit Andrés mentioned for regularity is second to none. It caused a cab driver to laugh at me, and politely warn to eat no more than one at a time until we had a better idea of what to expect.
I think we've only had the yellow version. Is the flavor or texture different for the Dragon?
I find dragonfruit to be so mild I don’t notice the difference but I think yellow might be sweeter. The plant we saw is pink and Alfredo said it was the original one but it’s not common at all. In Ecuador I’ve only really seen yellow.

Seeing the thumbnail made me look back to the November "Checha Treehouse" video to see how similar it was to this one. It's clearly different, however it appears to be an Ecuador based video without Spanish subtitles. Can you believe this was 7 months ago? Would you be able to turn on the Spanish subtitle option? If it's complicated, perhaps when you get caught up on the subtitles for your previous generation of Canadian videos (which we'd love to see), you can do the same here?
So, what's the Vegas Over/Under date for you to eclipse 9k subscribers?
Oh I don't know! If I stay on track it could be next week. My goal was 10k by the end of the year but now I'm being a bit ambitious and hope it's the end of summer. But I really depend on the algorithm for that to happen. I need TH-cam to show videos to people who don't follow me, like they did with Manta Huecas, which has brought me 91 subscribers. Although by far the biggest video is My Life in Cuenca, where I gained 613 subscribers. I have some Cuenca content coming up so maybe I can do it?
That said, for me it's not just numbers I don't want people to just subscribe and never watch. I have a really good ratio of people who watch and that is what drives TH-cam recommending my videos to others so I can be patient.

@@ayngelina 9k comes prior to 10k. I just checked, and the current Vegas over/under for 9k is June 22nd. I'll take the under.
Well my birthday is June 25 so I'd love to reach that before then.

I always try papaya and I never like it! It’s funny because there are only a couple things that I find repulsive to eat and this one of them.

So, does Andrés have a particular ratio on his Salsa Rosada? Does he ever add ají?
I think you go based on colour. This is the first time I've seen him make it. But aji and mayo exists as a separate condiment

I think it's still called aji because it's still a type of hot sauce. I just checked the original Cuenca Huecas video because there they had both salsa rosada and aji and then aji mixed with mayo. at 8:22 th-cam.com/video/pENT_g363CA/w-d-xo.html

I had it shredded and pickled in Vietnam and somehow they made it good, but yeah 99% of the time it is gross!
