From the description it seems like evasion concentrate will still help gain special. We also still can use meat to start full so might be nice for bursting through monsters, which will be really nice for some of us at work that needs to kill the monster fast 😅.
Armour skills reflect a monster's personality and abilities, so my guess is that this elder dragon is brute strength and consume meat to fill his strength, reflecting his status of Elder dragon eater.
Considering how Nergigante hunts other elders just by punching them in the face, his armor having a skill that negates special moves fits perfectly lmao
It would be far too OP if it didn't have this negative aspect to the skill. They introduced food pretty much just because they knew this skill was coming
I never used the Special Move while I was maining SnS in the beginning of the game, so I clearly see a good use of it for SnS. Now I main other weapons and am using the Special more regularly, but I'll try thus set with my SnS-Builds
Would like to see compared Dual Blades battling against 8* monster with Nergigante Avidity vs Heavenly Blade Dance skill. Avidity gives permanent 10-20% dmg boost and HDB special skill is 110% at Lv. 3 so wonder about these situations: 1) Use Avidity only (10/15/20%) means without HBD 2) 1x HBD used along with Avidity 3) 2x HBD but no Avidity used Curious how much time is needed to kill a monster so if the new avidity skill is better than performing special HBD skill.
I think it depends on the weapon. On some it could be worth it. For example on bow or HBG or all weapons that don't particularely need the 2nd ult. Thanks to the auto swap feature you could now also be on your ult farm set while it automatically swaps over to the nergi set. But on some weapons, like the lance, I don't see it being viable and I also don't think it's viable against Elder Dragons because those fights last longer and you can usually get 3-4 or maybe even 5 ults out.
To be fair, you can have a "normal" build as your default to hunt the overworld monsters(sharp claw & wingdrake hide monsters) for charging special, and when you fight a monster, the game automatically changes to whatever build you used last against specific monsters. Idk how practical that will actually be, and i personally think the idea behind the skill is simply to use steaks to fill up special, but it is worth noting i guess that this is an option.
It's awful against hunts that are still a challenge to your current dps. However 10% damage boost from second 1 makes it a really good fit to further boost your casual under 30sec grinds that you can do single handly without looking at screen for half of the duration.
How dare they remove our flashy badass special attacks Also you guys think they'll add armor customization? And I don't mean just overlay I mean changing colors and stuff
Special move invulnerability will be missed huhu... I hope they add that armor customization. They allowed us to do it with our characters so there is hope haha!
Still not a total lost Special insurance 2 would keep you from losing your special while fainting and higher levels would build the gauge so you could go for the 20% with three parts add special insurance 2. But I'd just take the head and coil and go Special boost 5 with a heavy weapon.
Having partbreaker on a weapon is better then armor?! How? Well now you can hand pick specifically what skills to stack with breaker with a weapon. Whicj frees more room to mix more dps with breaker builds. Got my eyes on those weapons for sure. Hopefully we get the last few weapons soon. I love the nergi hh
Id still prefer raw partbreaker builds for all purpose farming builds. Well with dragon weapons, it's gonna be great for elder dragon farming as well. Just gotta grind edis a lot to upgrade nerg weapons huhu
@@PauwerPlays maybe that helmet won't be so bad after all, I usually use Radobaan helm for guard +2 (guard +4 overall) when facing tougher ranked monsters
@EightOne01 the tail (or maybe something outside the r6) is gonna be way harder to farm then the R6. That's the thing with the other elders. This is definitely the first mh game where I've experienced an higher drop/break on the rarest item over say the tail. Also... I miss tail carving lol
@PauwerPlays that's what I was pondering too. "Whom to farm more of? Limited time and what not" Didn't you get like 60 or 70 ish dragons on the night shade paid event? That's a huge commitment indeed if soo.
I'm totally lost with this. I get kushala and teostra having a different effect from the mainseries but they kept their identities. But this?. It feels like they ran out of ideas. If they are going to make nergi a nish armor, they could hvae gone to additional damage to Elders or less damage from elders, if that is too much. They can go add bleed status

@theguy405 better test nergigante avidity against 10 star monsters haha
Odds are this skill will be more damage than the special.
Let's hope it is haha!
Just do the math
just eat stake / fill special with weak monsters and use nergigante armour only when damage matters.
on specific weapons like bow/gunlance sure, like he said he is a lance main and lance can use special 3 times
NA is good for HBG with the machine gun SP imo, especially if the Legiana HBG can be built around it

Glad you found the info useful!

Nergigante has the superman dive special move tho. It builds up spikes over time so it kinda like building up its special gauge 😂
@@PauwerPlays wait you have a point, he's cheating lol

Depends, if this buffs shelling and has this skill in helmet, arms and waist, it could be a huge buff to gunlance.

@someone999555 yeah you have to invest steaks for this build. If you run out then you have to build up your special using another loadout

might be useful for HBG with wyvernsnipe? since it's sluggish and somewhat hard to deal max dmg with the piercing shot
