  • In this presentation, I cover the 6-step interpretational process used to interpret a 12-Lead EKG. Although there are a lot of different interpretational methods out there, I use this method to systematically instruct my students how to approach, interpret, and diagnose a 12-Lead EKG.

    Dude! Thanks so much for putting these together! This is a tremendous help due to the fact that I'm trying to pass my medic test and we spent zero time on 12-Lead. I will definitely be frequenting the other videos you've put up as well. Kudos, my man!

    It is part of the AHA science, but if you have a person who you suspect having any type of acute coronary syndrome, then you treat it as such. Differential diasnosis of ST elevation/depression should only be considered after you have ruled out the possiblity of an MI.

    Thank you for putting these videos together. On the Last practice EKG aren't the Lead II QRS complexes a bit suppressed considering its standard calibration? Is that abnormal? Or just an artifact.

    I'd also like to add that these explained a topic I've been struggling with for while in simplistic terms. Brilliant! I'm quite slow and need things dumbed down a notch or two. ( :-P)

    At 21:48 you you have arrived at first degree heart at 80 bhm..... Please explain the first degree, second degree,third degree etc. as you have not used this terminology anywhere initially. Its confusing. I request you to clarify this doubt at the earliest. Once again PLEASE and IMMEDIATELY will be grateful.

    • @32bravo711
      @32bravo711  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think I understand your question. Are you asking where the terminology comes from, or the criteria for the different heart blocks?

    • @babrars
      @babrars 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thsnk you for responding. Criteria for different heart blocks, how do you arrive at the conclusion as to what degree the heart block is?

  • @Kisseus

    What are the advantages of using a different calibration from standard? Doesn't that confuse the normal interpretation of an EKG, if someone who checks it is used to 'another kind' of peaks and depressions and so on? Thank you very much

    Looking back at this rhythm, I actually think 28:34 is more of an atrial fib. Who knows, I could be wrong. But thank you for your teaching. Your lectures have been very valuable to me.

      I can drag it out, can't I. :) When I made these videos, I was only showing them to my class, which has students who have never worked with 12-leads before. So, i wanted to speak a bit slower and have some repetition in there, hopefully for better understanding and retention. I appreciate the feedback.

    • @rawdonwaller
      @rawdonwaller 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Ummmm reading ekgs is redundant and repetitive. That's the point. Create a standard and perfect it through repetition. Not all of us can be an expert like you

  • @Got2DoEmDirty69

    I know this is a long shot since these videos are 10 years old but on the zoll monitors they do not have calibration markers does this mean it should be set at standard calibration?

    • @32bravo711
      @32bravo711  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The default should be set to "standard" calibration. You should be able to look at the top or bottom to see the "25 mm/sec" and "10 mm/mV", that is still standard calibration. Hope this helps.
