My ex-wife chose the streets and addiction instead being a mother to her child.. She passed 2 years ago at 38 throwing away her beauty and potential. This song is a masterpiece of that sadness. Raising our child alone i can only share this masterpiece with him And the memory of her brightside . Thank you to Queensryche for this.

I remember asking my mom to pick me up Queensryche’s Empire cassette at Musicland back in 1992. I can’t tell you how many times I listened to that tape, and Operation Mindcrime. Then I played their VHS tape a million times. 1992, my senior year in high school, I loved Queensryche. 30 years...I miss that era in my life

Hell yeah, you guys are right. Actually, from 1983-1995 (after PL tour) Queensryche established themselves as a huge band, my best ever line-up and compositions. Five lenght players, Tha Warning till Promised Land, RAge for Oder was the turning pointo to me, when they solidified their musical personality. I´ve cut that period of time to 4 years because of the release of OMC and Empire. Finally they got the deserved recognition, MTY exposure and much more. In the metal world let´s say they were superior than anyone (Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Metallica), including on stage. They were part of the cast of Rock In Rio 2 (1991), and this exhibition on MTV was fabulous!

Every time I encountered him on different tours....he was always very kind, genuine and respectful to me. He was surprised and grateful that I have been a fan since 1982. I thought they would be one of the bands that would go down in history as all of the original band members. They would grow old together as friends and retire. I was heartbroken when Chris DeGarmo left but, they managed, branched out, and became more diverse. I feel some of their work has been over-looked by many. I have to say they will never leave my heart or life. I will see them..."Geoff Tate's" Queensryche on January 31st at "The Austin Music Hall". Always a Badass venue - I AM SO HAPPY! I would love for DeGarmo and Tate to create a recording project together, even if they don't do any tours and is a "one off." Being the neither will likely be in Queensryche and they were the powerhouse duo of the original Ryche. It would be great to create that magic at least one final time and let it "all hang out" so to speak!!!

I’d forgotten how untouchable Queensryche were at their peak! Tate was just mind blowing, one of the alll time greats and the musicianship just all class. THIS was the band I fell in love with! The line “somewhere you lost your dream” is almost a metaphor for Queensryche’s career post DeGarmo.

There really isn't a single band out today that can even come close replicating this. I always loved these guys, and now that I am 50, I even love 'em more. I have turned my 17 year old son on to classic metal and progressive metal such as this. When he goes to drum class he plays this music for the class and the whole class agrees that there isn't a band around that can come close to touching these guys. It is simply phenomenal.

Such an awesome song from an excellent CD! I remember buying this CD the 2ND day it was out. I was really busy during that time period and on my way home a good friend at a red light yelled to me while cranking the song"Empire" as I was waiting for the"Walk"signal and he yelled"the new Queensryche"CD was just released"! Unfortunately it was around 9 PM and in my city there was no place to buy the CD at that time so I had to wait until the morning. I remember loving the entire release with so many excellent tracks, but this particular song really stuck out to me. I have always loved this song. What a great performance. It is a shame these guys can't reunite. Watching Jeff play his solo on an acoustic is amazing and watching Geoff nodding his head in happiness at 3:00 and then that massive smile @ 3:05 is heartwarming. I have plenty of influences and favorite players and bands as a guitarist/musician and I have to say Queensryche is on my top 10 list when it comes to favorite bands. What an excellent performance!
