    Thanks for the thorough review. Making a purchase of this mattress today. I've got degenerative arthritis in my spine and hips so I"m hoping this will help alleviate the pain I have from my current sleep system. Embarrassed to say I've been sleeping on a super cheap (sub $300) mattress for 8 years. Time to invest in quality and hopefully pain free (or less) sleep.

      @@NapLabReviews thanks! received my mattress yesterday - have a general question for your team as knowledgeable mattress reviewers. how long does it typically take to determine if a mattress is a good fit for your needs? I assume mattress may take a few days/weeks to break in - or should you know right away? The RX felt great everywhere except my hip area - it felt a bit too firm but that could be something that might adjust over time?

    • @NapLabReviews

      @@littleninja71 30 days is typically what it takes for your body to adjust to the feel of a new mattress. Some will do it a bit faster, some a bit slower, but 30'ish days is a good benchmark to shoot for.

    Thanks for the objective review! I was just looking at this mattress online today. As a 230 lb athletic build man and a side sleeper, its hard to find a mattress that offers pressure relief and support. This might fit the bill.

      My pleasure! Glad to hear it was helpful.
      The RX is incredibly high quality in terms of materials and build quality. The super thick comfort layer gives me ample confidence that it will create more than sufficient support for virtually all sleepers.

      As a 235 lbs man with a back injury, the Saatva Rx hit the spot for comfort. Bought a split king HD/Rx as the wife prefers a stiffer mattress and both halves are exceptionally well made and comfortable. Would recommend the Rx 100%.

    • @NapLabReviews
      @NapLabReviews  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think that's really a choice between which firmness you want.
      RX has a medium-firm feel. It's ideal for all sleeping positions, combination sleepers, and a wide variety of body weights.
      Classic plush is a soft feel. It's more ideal for side sleepers exclusively (and some ultra lightweight bodies).

    Naplab - Great review! I'm currently on an original Purple. I'm 6'4", 185 and a back/side combo sleeper. I have developed chronic neck/shoulder/hip/lower back pain. I'm looking for something supportive but offers great pressure relief. I hate memory foam beds. I came across this bed, but the price is a little out of my range. Do you have any recommendations for me to look at? (bonus points for mattresses with latex/natural materials). Thank you!

      Take a look at the Saatva Latex Hybrid - naplab.com/mattress-reviews/saatva-latex-hybrid-review/
      And Nolah Natural - naplab.com/mattress-reviews/nolah-natural-mattress-review/
      These are both latex hybrids with natural materials. So no need to worry about that memory foam feel. Both are high quality and excellent performers, while being notably less expensive than the Saatva RX. I think you could be happy with either.

    Might I have gotten a lemon? I bought the King Rx and within a week I found that it had distinct impressions where my husband and I lay. It doesn’t recover throughout the day. We are not heavy people, neither of us is over 180 lbs. the mattress is sitting on a 5” box spring and a slat foundation with slats 2.5” apart. Saatva was very responsive and are sending a replacement, but I need some assurance that it isn’t due to the engineering and design. Thank you

    • @NapLabReviews
      @NapLabReviews  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Body impressions within a week definitely sounds like a lemon. That really just shouldn't happen with any mattress.
      Can you tell me more about the 5" box spring? Does it have actual springs in it? How old is it? What's it made from?
      Box springs with actual springs and/or older, unsupportive foundations can have a huge negative impact on mattress longevity and body impressions. So making sure that's a non-issue will definitely help.

      @@NapLabReviews The box spring is something we bought as a set to our older mattress((coil spring type). We have recently ordered a platform bed frame from Casper that will make it easier to get in and out of the Saatva RX(15” profile is too tall for my height) When we receive the new Rx that will be what we place it on. Will that be a good choice?

    We just tried the Saavta classic in their showroom and like the softer option. But it seemed really bouncy and I could feel a lot of movement (motion transfer) from my hubby. Then we moved to the Rx and it definitely was nice as well. To us, it seemed almost as soft as the classic soft. Almost more supportive but less bouncy to how the classic soft felt. But what surprised me in your review was the motion transfer score. The motion transfer on the Rx felt way, way less than both of the classics. We actually ordered that one today based mostly on that. I am a side sleeper, but an incredibly light sleeper. My hubby is also a side sleeper mostly, but he has restless leg issues and back issues occasionally. So that motion transfer was a big deciding factor. Do you think we made a mistake? We went back and forth and finally settled on the Rx primarily for that reason. The sales lady did say that when the Rx is delivered, it will feel more like the classic luxury firm at first. I just hope we made the right decision. Thoughts?? I know I did not mixed them up. So now I guess I am looking for advice.

    • @NapLabReviews
      @NapLabReviews  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The RX is an incredible mattress. I don't think you made a mistake in ordering it. While the motion transfer is a little on the higher side, in my view, it's still one of the best hybrids on the market.

    Seems like the lumbar area would sink more because of that extra layer of gel memory foam. It seems like an amzing pick, just worried about spinal alignment through the lumbar area.

    • @NapLabReviews
      @NapLabReviews  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's a firmer and fairly thin layer of gel memory foam, so it creates more resistance to the pressure down. Overall, I found the lumbar support to be excellent. Well supported without pushing my spine out of alignment (which is common with many mattresses).

    This vs the avacado green plush? Which is better. I’m 6’3 210 pounds, side sleeper/ combination and workout every single day. I need something to support my lower back as I sometimes overdue it on leg day but prefer softer beds for my joints and side sleeping abilities. This bed caught my eye because I have a lot of family members with arthritis and plan on keeping my next bed long enough that I might develop arthritis during. Trying to think ahead. Kept my current mattress for 20 years 😅

    • @NapLabReviews
      @NapLabReviews  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Saatva RX is higher performance based on our tests (at least compared to the Avocado Green medium, we haven't tested the plush version yet).
      But especially for lower back support, I would not recommend any plush mattress. You need medium or medium-firm to get the proper level of support.
      Based on your feedback here the RX sounds like a great choice for you.

    We bought the Saatva RX because of your great review. We like everything, except the sinkage. Watching your other review about the Saatva latex hybrid that says it has less sinkage. You rated 2.05 sinkage on the RX and 3.00 on the latex hybrid. Could you explain this?

    • @NapLabReviews
      @NapLabReviews  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I think there is perhaps some confusion.
      My sinkage measurement on the Saatva RX is indeed 2.05".
      However, the Saatva Latex Hybrid isn't 3.0". In our tests we measured it at 1.85", giving it a minimal level of sinkage and moderately less than Saatva RX.

    I currently have the original Nolan and find that the sagging after only 3 years is significant, though not enough to secure a warranty. I am wondering if the Saatva since it is a hybrid will have less sagging issues. How many years might I expect from the Saatva RX? Thank you for the video.

    • @NapLabReviews
      @NapLabReviews  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Will Saatva RX sag within 3 years? No, it shouldn't. Provided it's placed on a high performance foundation.
      But the RX, like virtually 100% of mattresses that utilize foam, will develop a body impression over time.
      However, given the material quality on the RX relative to the Nolah Original, it's doubtful it will be as deep or dramatic of a body impression.

      @@NapLabReviews I have had 2 Saatva RX mattresses replaced after only 2 months of use. We started seeing a significant body imprint that didn’t return to shape after only a week on the first and 2 weeks on the second. We only just received the 3rd one last week. But I am experiencing extreme Lower back pain since using this mattress. Before this we had a Nolan and though it didn’t last as long as I would have liked it didn’t cause this pain. After getting feed back have you found that people are experiencing this problem…..Do you know if this is “new” design that they may not have worked the bugs out of yet. @@debbiesheets5585 Body impressions as the mattress breaks in are pretty common, both with Saatva RX and all mattresses that utilize a similar cover.
      It sounds to me like your body is more sensitive to these types of body impressions.
      As a result, it would be prudent for you to avoid all mattresses with pillow tops, euro tops, and quilted covers, as these types of covers are more likely to create body impressions.
