@@JoeFromTheAfternoon Off the top of my head, that the full rail operator was long discontinued and next to impossible to find, and that (off topic) the MAC (Tisas) JSOC was the brainchild of Military Arms Channel. I'd have to go back and rewatch the video but there were other things he said about the Operator that had me shaking my head. I appreciate his passion and content and have immense respect for what he's done in the Safariland holster sphere, but some of his "facts" were off base in that video.

FYI: Springfield release three Versions of the Full Rail Operator back in the 2001-05/06ish TRP Bull Barrel Adjustable Nights Sights and Checkered Front Strap and MSH w/Magwell. Loaded bushing barrel Night Sights Novak 600-750 pistols made, MIL-SPEC Operator was a Mil-Spec Pistol features with a Full Rail they are VERY RARE less than 350 pistols were made.
The Full Rail TRP Operator are basically Semi-Custom pistols that the Custom Shop used to make because the Frames were originally reserved for some Military and LEO unit Special Purchase Orders. I have been trying to get a Full Rail Operator with the sand paper grips like yours since 2005 but things have happen where other weapons were purchased instead and the fact that Springfield Custom Shop when it was Open Only Made the Full Rail TRP once every 18-30 months with only producing about 50-100 pistols for the commercial market and Waiting list that have been over 4-6 years in backorders.

@@JoeFromTheAfternoon I had a chance of getting a Loaded Full Rail Springfield while I was in the Navy stationed in VA but I wanted the TRP model so I did not jump at it looking back it was a MAJOR Mistake on my part. In all my years of serving as Range Officer and Instructor both in the Military and as a Civilian I have ONLY seen ONE Mil-Spec Full Rail Springfield and that was also in VA back around 2008-09 and when I saw it I asked the owner if I could see it and he was very nice and even allowed me to shoot it. The Mil-Spec FR was NOT what I was expecting since the Short Mil-Spec Trigger had been Tuned and the Barrel/Slide and Slide/Frame was Extremely Well Done and tight. The gentleman told me that he had owned the pistol for about 4 years and had purchased it Brand New in Ohio his home state and he had NOT DONE ANY work to the pistol other than lube it and put about 3k rounds in the 4 year period.
One thing that you have to remember is that during this Time Springfield was Getting their Frames and Slides from Imbel in Brazil and about 50-60% of the pistols that Springfield was selling were completely made in Brazil and they had a Serial Number that started with N but the 1911 that were done in the USA which meant that more than 50% of the work to assemble the weapon was done in Illinois had a NM Serial Number. All the Railed pistols were done in the USA and since many of them were being Purchased by Elite Military Units like USMC MEU-SOC on individual command Purchase Order basis, US Navy Seal Chris Kyle carried a SA TRP Full Rail that was damaged by shrapnel and was sent back to Springfield for repairs but Kyle switched to a Sig P220 45acp for the rest of his combat tour. The Full Rail Springfield from the early 2000s to 2012/13 always got Extremely well build pistols because the Custom Shop Techs/Pistolsmiths that build them knew that the majority of them were going to War because you can take a Full Rail pistol and Shove it into someone's Chest and pull the Trigger without having the pistol going out of battery and I was told this by an East Coast MEU-SOC Gunnery Sergeant that by 2013 had over 8 Combat Tours in both Iraq, Afghanistan plus a few other places in Africa that he could not go into with me because they were hunting bad guys.
I love Railed 1911 and I am lucky enough to own SIX which are comprised of 5 SIGs TacOps 5 inch and 4.25 plus I took a leap of faith and tried one of the Tisas Raiders and I was EXTREMELY Impressed how well the Turkish 1911 manufactures are but I still want to get the Springfield Full Rail specially one that was build in the 2003-2009 which are the years I served in the US Navy.

@@earthlyng_official4599 Like the video said this is the first factory railed frame 1911 pistol and the configuration with the Sandpaper Grips is the Original Setup that came out back in 2001ish maybe 2002, but the pistols have always been a ROYAL PAIN to get because Everyone that Loves Modern 1911s wanted one and waiting lists have been OUTRAGESTLY LONG! I own a small custom firearms shop and have a FFL for the past 10 years and I am still in the middle of the waiting list to get one and that is from three different distributors. I saw one at a local gun shop that I normally go shoot with friends about once a month and they had a used one that was maybe 80-85% Condition it looked like the owner left it on the roof of the car and the pistol feel onto a gravel road or something and the shop was asking 2900 dollars that was this past summer. I know the pistol is a Unicorn but that price is for a TRP with all the papers and a box with all the mags and they were selling it with two mags and no box and some fugly grips and the Night Sights were very weak! It would take about 300-500 to get all the scratches polished out and then have the pistol re-Duracoat or just Cerakote it plus about 200 for the sights and a TRP is not worth that much a PRO maybe but NOT a TRP!

The ILS was not offered by Springfield to get onto the roster in Commiefornia. This little PITA was introduced long before that. I have two TRP Full Rail version, First Gen USA and a CA approved version and it's little baby brother the Champion and they all have this lock. This pistol was first made outside of the USA When they started making this First Gen US pistol this little PITA lock showed up. Has absolutely nothing to do with Commiefornia. The only difference between the two Roster and non Roster pistols is they submitted one to Commiefornia for testing nothing more. The ILS was there when it was tested and it must stay on the pistol if they want to keep selling them in Commifornia. Springfield has dropped the ILS for everyone else. US versions had these "safety" features long before they submitted the pistol to CA. Springfield only carries the CA model number now because if they don't it would fall off the list and be unavailable again to those behind the iron curtain.

I have replaced the ILS system in my older TRP full rail and you are correct, all of the guts of the MSH need to be replaced. Springfield is very good about allowing you to order the replacement parts. We (CA) recently received and allocation of all Springfield 1911s including the TRP models at many different LGS. Any Springfield 1911 has been impossible to get for the last 4 years. The full rails always sell out first but there are probably a few floating around.

Like I said in the video….the gun was designed before the x300 even existed. They had no idea how small the lights (compared to lights at the time) would be eventually.
No one needs a full rail now. It’s just how the model is made. And since it’s on the CA roster, changing it would mess a lot of things up.
