Phones..OR..DSLRs/mirrorless? Why?
Peter McKinnon there is nothing like holding a camera also the adjustability is helpful and not to mention how people see you with a camera they take you seriously
Mirrorless all the way, size for travel. Saving room and still able to knock out the buttery smooth 120fps
DSLR, although I would really love to have a mirror-less camera, as I do find I use the LCD more often than the viewfinder. Just to shorten that shutter speed.
Peter McKinnon Phones are pretty good but i agree with you. They are not even close to an actual camera, that is like comparing a guitar hero with an actual guitar.
Always DLSR but phones have become very good and will always be the best for portability

Dunno if Im blind or anything, but I cant find the brush selection for the selective area thingy.
The irony is that there is no brush as u see in this video for Android.. that's only for iOS! I guess the brush makes a lot of difference to the photos.
Android version is like " be happy with what you have got"!

I really started enjoying my smartphone's camera recently! As an amateur photographer and youtuber it is awesome to 'leave the house like a regular human being without carrying your entire studio with you' and still be able do create decent enough content! Can't wait to see what happens with smartphone photography in the future! Oh almost forgot: Awesome video as always :)
Pete, do a video on how to get the most out of the most basic camera kits. 18-55mm for example!
RVPTURE Tip for shooting portraits, get really close and open up wide, so u can get some nice bokeh. For shooting landscape, Tune it down to a f8-f12 and manually put the focus to infinity.

Peter do something with 18-55 kit lens
I just purchased the Nikon Nikkor AF-P18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR Lens for some video shoots with that silent motor the P has. would love to see Peter get some b-roll on it.

I too would like to see him do a video about kit lenses. I have a Canon T3i and am thinking of picking up an 18-135mm STM lens for general walk-around photography as its cumbersome to carry around both the 18-55 and 55-250 kit lenses and swapping out lenses while walking around is....awkward.. The newer STM lenses look like they really aren't all that bad, super quiet and fast, electronic focus (no more swiveling your CPL or variable ND filters) and an actual metal attachment system.
I second that. Show work with mortal's equipment. SEL1855 is everthing I have for my Sony Nex 5r
I just switched from the 18-55mm and 55-250mm to the 18-135mm and I love it, I would recommend it a lot feel free to ask me questions. I have some work on my IG with both the kit lenses and 18-135m and 55-250mm. My IG is @cabotsteward

100% agree. New Lightroom update for that app is INSANE. And also, you can grab settings from another photo, and therefore basically grab your presets from older photos! Posting much more now! Great videos Peter-- Cheers!

It's odd because I used to use my phone for everything & got some impressive shots out of it but since I started using a DSLR, i don't use my phone at all & don't like the photos I get when I do. I guess I did it backwards. 😂
I just picked up the Ztylus 6-in-1 lens case for the 7+ and planned on doing a video for it soon....but, as you said, there's obvious pros and cons to mobile photography & videography, but the biggest pro is deff portability.... I also just got the Zhiyun Smooth-Q to pair with it and it's unbelievable.
Also just DL'd LR mobile, pretty pumped to use it, thanks for the recommendation.

when you shoot slow motion how many FPS do you shoot in
- you can shoot in 60 FPS then slow it dwn in post by dropping it dwn to 24 FPS..(works well) PS. someone should have answered this for you 3 years ago..lol
I go between 60 and 120 FPS record and 24 FPS playback. The higher the frame rate in record, the slower the motion in playback.

I think these lenses are great for just impromptu walking around kind of photos. It's honestly a hassle walking around with a giant camera bag so it's nice to have something that's compact and easy to carry just in case you want a good photo.

It seems like anytime someone has a gear review or tutorial for how to do something with photography it attracts dislikes. Photographers tend to have an ego (I'm a photographer so this is
why I know this lol) and think their way is the best way. That being said, I never dislike videos, i just stop watching it.

Diffinetly DSLR/mirrorless! Just like you commented in this video, by the time you acquire all the extra accessories for your "phonagraphy", you might as well purchase a quality entry level DSLR with a faster processor.
On the other note, I just wanted to express my personal gratitude for sharing your photography/videography knowledge and experiences with the world. You are probably one of the, if not the only one, professional photographer whose videos are very comprehensive and easy to listen. Plus your down to earth attitude inspires others to go pick up that camera and create more amazing images/videos. Please keep it up ;-)!

Idk if it’s only me , but I kind of dislike the over-edited photos . I like the “natural” look of many photos . Of course adjusting exposure a bit or the vibrance is ok , but over doing everything makes the photo look too unnatural for my liking.
It’s kind of like plastic surgery on humans .I hate the “doll” look girls pursue doing surgeries , while contour / lipstick is always appreciated.
