    Thank you sooooooooooooooooooo much. I swear I've been falling down the rabbit hole into stain hell. Seeing the final product in your real-life scenarios really helped my wife and I to "seal" the deal.

      That's awesome, thank you very much! I know it's really hard to picture different colors unless you can see them on finished products - lol on the rabbit hole, so true.

    Great book for a beginner . th-cam.com/users/postUgkxD-QRFQz730FJEh4f9BYSf-nkIMIC9hL_ this book really starts from the beginning, as in it explains what basic tools are and how to use them. But when it gets to the art of creating joints and how and when to use them this book really starts to teach you something. At least that was my experience.

    Angela Marie, this is Flo from Creative Designs here. I am just starting to increase my creativity to doing Pallet signs. I was very interested when I came across your series on Wood Stains etc. I intend to eventually watch all of them. However the color charts and your comments, immediately became a part of my Workbook. I myself really like Early American, Special Walnut and Honey Maple, and then the Weathering signs. Thank you so much for these Tutorials, and I am sure you will here from me again. Flo

    I ended up thinking I liked one color and then bought a bunch of small cans and tested it, and man the ones I didn't think I'd like was the winner. Pretty cool, but learned I need to test them on the wood I'm using for sure

    • @AngelaMarieMade
      @AngelaMarieMade  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it's so important to test it out because you really never know until you see it on the actual wood! Stain can look so different on different types of wood.

    • @AngelaMarieMade
      @AngelaMarieMade  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you!! You do not need to use a varnish if you do not want to. Varnish is usually used as a protective top coat on surfaces you use a lot like a table top, it also will give a glossy finish that accentuates the stain color.

    My personal mix is 4 parts early american (or really any medium brown this color is the least important) 2 parts Briarsmoke ( it's just a little to grey for my liking but when mixed it gave me the rustic look I was going for) and last 1 part of a dark brown ie dark walnut or jacobean

    • @AngelaMarieMade
