      This is pretty much like the incident of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria back in WW1. We got a multi-ethnic kingdom (Sorcerer's Kingdom and the Dual Monarchy of Austria-Hungary) having some kind of thing with another kingdom (Re-Estize and Serbia). Though, there are some differences like it is robbery here instead of murdering an archduke, we got a foolish and scummy noble instead of a poor nationalist student, and of course, the size between the two.
      P.S. Muh boy Zanac having a spotlight!! Respect....

      @@notarmchairhistorian7779 I’m guessing it’s a mistake, it might be confusion just because how many “kingdoms” there are, between Re-Estize, Draconic, and Roble Holy someone probably mixed it up and that mistake got carried on and maybe compounded into another mistake that created this situation, or just complete oversight idk but it def just a subtitle problem, since the seal on the declaration is of Roble and the Theocracy’s is not on there

    • @angelolorilla2050
      @angelolorilla2050 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yep, pretty messed up with the translation coz the two terms are almost synonymous. A "Holy Kingdom" in a way is a "Theocracy". Though, they should stick with the terms in the light novel. Another guess is that the translator is an anime only that he has no idea about the "difference".

    • @3redstreeter256
      @3redstreeter256 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I’ve seen some people point out that “Theocracy” and “Holy Kingdom” are very similar in general definition, which might be part of the reason for the slip in the translation. I would guess that that is why the mistake was made

    Phillip is basically Ainz’s polar opposite. Ainz gives great consideration to his plans and uses everything at his disposal to capitalize on any situation while minimizing risks.
    Phillip gives no consideration to any consequences and pushes his own agenda on others expecting everything to go his way.
    It’s funny how opposite they are in personalities, how similarly foolish they can be. Except Ainz only appears foolish because he is surrounded by people smarter than himself, and he knows it. So Ainz either tries to rely on those on around him more or becomes paranoid by reading too much into things. Phillip is truly foolish because he considers no one to be smarter than himself.

    The one part I wished they made closer to the LN was Hilma's return to the other 8 fingers. As she is so happy and preaching the gospel of Ainz the others assume she was tortured to insanity, mind controlled or replaced with some shape shifting monster. There is a hilarious and fair bit longer than the anime version conversation where Hilma is going on about the mercy of Ainz, how the carrot is so much sweeter after the stick and praising Ainz as the god of manipulation as he can manipulate people even when they are aware of the manipulation because he prepares things so well (which surprise, surprise he doesn't and had no clue what was going on) while the other 8 fingers are trying to work out why she is not screaming in terror from the punishment they assumed she received.

    This is the opinion of an anime-only: Since Ainz is incapable of being flawed from Albedo's perspective, I don't see how she can walk away from that interaction with any conclusion other than "the one at fault is the one at fault". Blame can't run up, because that ultimately makes Ainz responsible for any mistake any of them make, so it has to stop where it starts. Philip is responsible. Philip must pay.
    In another anime, I might expect the King's willingness to pay for his subordinate's mistake as a gesture that would produce the best possible result; here I suspect defending the culprit by failing to present him will end poorly for King and country.

      I wouldn't call the King a coward for that, I think most people would break under that pressure, and that's how I see the King, he's an average leader not a remarkable one like the Emperor was, and now he's thrown in way out of his depth that he's hoping to find an out that leaves the Kingdom in some semblance of peace for his next son to take over.

Well from this experience the 8 fingers are now 100% loyal to Ainz, I mean they were already, but this makes more concrete. The king now has to make a choice, it's either sacrifice Philip to please the sorcerer's kingdom or everyone suffers because of Philip's actions.

      Yeah it felt more or less resolved before but now its hard not to see how the fingers dont be 100 percent loyal at this point. Especially given Ainz just proved he isnt cruel for no reason and loyality is rewarded. While his punishments alone could be enough to sway anyone.

Everyone wondered how stupid Philip could actually be lol. Philip will likely only last long for torture lol. Also I know the credits said Slane Theocracy but it’s actually referring to the Holy Kingdom. This upcoming arc comes after the movie arc as I’m sure you know. It’s hilarious how Ainz was trying to take responsibility but they wouldn’t let him lol. I wonder if the entire rest of it will be this Volume or arc or if there will be some sort of segue or connection to the movie made or something else. It’s hilarious how Hilda is now a masochist. This arc should be the best content by far and especially how it ends for some characters. there was an awful mistranslation in this episode.
    Ainz is sending support to the "Roble Holy Kingdom" which is to the South-West of the Re-Estize Kingdom, the translation indicated the caravans were going to the "Theocracy" aka Slaine Theocracy, which is directly south of the Re-Estize Kingdom, and Ainz's sworn enemies. Ainz would never send aid to the Slaine Theocracy, nor would the Slaine Theocracy ever accept that aid even if they needed it.
    The mistranslation is particularly egregious, because it compounds the confusion caused by the anime staff chosing to skip 2 whole books and an entire arc of the novels taking place in the Roble Holy Kingdom. Since those two books were being skipped entirely by the anime staff this mistranslation really throws the whole plot into confusion.
    I mean it's obvious they're going to turn those two books into a movie or two; and you could cut them out without too much difficulty just using some dialogue to explain it, however with the mistranslation in this episode it only confuses things badly.

    I think the series would end with ains winning in the end and a teaser for a spinoff series for another group of characters but rather than them bieng the villains like ainz they would be isekaid from japan to faight him i hope that happens beccouse they made the main character villains then in the end there is room for a spinoff

      Given the author has hinted at being burnt out on writing this series Im pretty sure he is moving on once its done. But you never know what the future might hold.
