I’m in foodservice distribution and have many trucks providing disaster relief in those areas. One relief company owner said it’s as bad as Katrina was in Ashevile. Thoughts and prayers to all involved.
It is as bad as Katrina. I am only of the only people around that has cell service. There’s no food or water or electricity. You can’t contact anyone with the cell service being down. FEMA is no where to be found. We need help here!!!

Boone,NC has been devastated including their Walmart, Businesses, homes destroyed etc. Ashe County including WJ, J, Lansing etc was leveled.

Mike and Karen it's good to see that you are safe.I know you all are always traveling to different places and little towns. It is so sad seeing the videos of all the destruction caused by this hurricane. We live in Ky. and we love traveling to these towns that were devastated by this hurricane. We were supposed be going to Banner Elk in about 3 weeks but I'm sure that that is going to be canceled due to this situation. We are keeping everyone in our prayers. This just reminds us how quick our lives can be changed. But when we put our faith in God he will get us through what every we face. Nothing is impossible with him.

I am in Newport and miraculously the flooding went around where I live. I decided to reboot my channel as I wanted to post my perspective as the struggling continues for who knows how long. Please keep praying for everyone. It is devastating.

We live on coast near Tallahassee and it was bad but we pray for this in the mtn floods. And also have a cabin in Maggie valley. Both ok miraculously.

I'm came down to Boone NC to help my 93 year old father who's been sick. We've been stuck on top of my dad's mountain home since the hurricane. We tried to get to town to get food and water, which we did, but it took us hours to get back home. The downed power lines and washed out roads made it impossible. We turned around so many times. We feel grateful that we still had a home to go back to. I'm not sure when the power will be back. So many people lost everything.

So sad to know that Chimney Rock is gone I have visited there so many times The devestation to my favorite places is just shocking and sad. Praying for the people doing the work and that God will send help and make a way where there is no way.
I was hiking on the AT when is happened. Had good friends taking care of my truck near Hartford - he says Hartford is completely gone. There under a "boil order". Folks are only now being allowed to inspect their properties. I got off trail and drove home to get out to way. The recovery will take years, decades in some cases. Let's all not forget these good folks as they go through rebuilding their communities.
This is so heartbreaking! Every news station should be showing this 24/7, I haven't seen much except for online..

Yes I’m in Aiken SC. And many people don’t have power! It was a frenzy in the groceries stores and fast food restaurants. I went into one grocery store and they were snatching up ice! I didn’t like that it was monitored because there were people taking 3-4 ice bags and many were unlucky getting their ice. So it’s been tough out here smh.
Please don’t forget the Town of Damascus, Virginia also.

I will donate to them; definitely not Red Cross or United Way, bc too much $$$$ to CEO'S, not actual relief efforts, imo.
UMCOR is the United Methodist committee on relief. They do wonderful work.

A fellow Gastonian here, things are slowly getting better our power was restored Sunday evening around 6pm , here in Gastonia we fared way better than Chimney Rock and Asheville. Frankly I’ve never seen flooding in the Smokies like this. God be with all

I was at Chimney Rock in October 2014 with my sister before she passed away in 2015 and I remember it was so beautiful up there. But now it's completely ruined by this hurricane Helene. I feel so bad for the people that's gonna have to rebuild during this high inflation time. 😥🙏🏻

I live in Gastonia/Belmont area and it was really bad here but we are blessed that it was not as bad as some places. I was out of power for 26 hours, and I can't imagine what people are going through in the mountain community. It is so selfish of me to be upset losing power, omg, there are people worse off than me. I am blessed.

I am fortunate to be able to talk to all of them. Some issues, especially with power, finding food and water but hearing their voices was such a blessing! All still praying together. Thank you so much for this video. I am from Jefferson City (currently living in Chicago) but have family all throughout the area and many were affected. Many are still without electricity, cell service or can't move around due to road closed. I have family in Newport and I know they were hit especially hard. Everyone I spoke to said they have never witnessed a storm like this one that came through the area. Prayers going out to everyone affected. The one thing I know about east TN ppl no matter the politics, race, religion when a disaster happens everyone bands together. Thanks for adding where help can be sent.

North Carolina national guard has rescued over 150 people by midday today. There’s TONS being done right now in a coordinated multistate way-it’s just you don’t hear about it except on YT watching the local news when they interview the NC governor
National guards been in Roanoke Virginia dealing with the flooding and then south went somewhere else South to help cut up downed trees

Thank you for this video. Praying. My cousin lives in Fletcher NC right near Asheville. Have not heard from her since Helene hit. Her sister who lives in Lumberton has also not heard from her. This breaks my heart!!! I 40 is gone in several places. Have read that many cities in W. NC can only be reached by air. I was born in Elkin another town affected by all this. Love the mountains they are so beautiful and usually this is the time of year when tourists come to the Mountains for the fall foliage. They are going to lose millions for their businesses.
My son is in Fairview. Still no cell service. He said it's beyond words. I hope you hear from her soon. ❤
My cousin is in Fletcher too. They said it was bad and no power or cell service. They had to go looking for cell service and was able to finally get out. Keep hope because it is so hard to find service! I pray she reaches you soon!!

Here in Grayson county Va. and the city of Galax it looks like a war zone. I live in town so I was only out of power for a bit over 24 hours. Our water plant was devastated. Water is spotty and nasty. Internet is off and on...buffers a lot and phones don't work at all. The New River that flows through here crested at 22 feet over flood stage. 98 percent of the people here have no power, phone service, internet or water. I have never saw anything like it. Many roads and bridges are gone. Trees down everywhere. Campers, cars, buildings, and even horses and cows are gone. I am one of the very blessed ones to have power now, and internet at times. The water is sporatic...but I can flush! The only flood on record here with a higher crest was in 1940 at 24 ft. There is more devistation now then during Hugo. Recovery is going to take a long time.
Cornerstone chapel in Leesburg VA will be partnering with Samaritan’s Purse to help rebuild in Asheville.
I live in Jonesborough on the west side of 11-E and like most everyone else lost power,wifi,etc. But was safe from the devastating river floods. I lived here for 52 years and worst I've ever seen. 🙏 for all affected. ❤

If you need help soon...contact the Mormon church...They have the alltogether to send help sooner!! No joke. They brag about being first responders.
So true. We were in Florida during Hurricane Micheal and the Mormons showed up and immediately went to work tarping roofs. Our house was on the main road through town and they were the first ones out in the mornings and the last ones back at night.

Henderson county resident here: I was blessed and haven’t lost service or access to internet with my phone. There’s no power or water in Hendersonville. Nobody was prepared for this event and many neighbors have lost everything. Thank you for the awareness. Please everyone keep spreading awareness, we need help in WNC! This very much is reminiscent of hurricane katrina

Today, FEMA authorities are in Georgia and will be in North Carolina tomorrow. FEMA representatives are currently working extensively in FL, GA, NC,and TN. Google can answer you quicker than commenters on TH-cam.

I haven’t seen FEMA. I’m in Hendersonville NC, cell service is slowly coming back but VERY few people have it. I was very fortunate to not lose my home but some of my neighbors did. It is a war zone here, please spread the word that we need help here!

I have a friend in Henderson NC do you know how it is there can't reach my friend.
It was flooded really bad. One of my brothers lives there too & we haven't been able to get in touch with him either. My mom and other brother live in Brevard, and they don't have power or cell service. They were able to drive out of Brevard towards Mills River & finally find an area they could call out & let us know they are OK. There was just so much flooding that most of the mountain towns have been completely shut off. Road closures all over.
I have cousins in Franklin, Hot Springs which was devastated including my cousin's store, Gentry Hardware and Asheville. My cousin in Asheville is currently in Misson Hospital having had major surgery this week. I heard the hospital has no running water and running on generators. It's just heartbreaking. I'm so happy to hear that yall are ok.

So sad for this terrible situation, the horrible huracaine Helene. I live in Puerto Rico and 7 years ago the island was devasted by hurracaine MARIA. More than 3,000 persons died andmany parts of PR were without power in one year and most people without water. I understand your devastation but our faith in GOD help us. This is so awful and sad. I live in the Florida Panhandle but was far to the west of the hurricane.There is devastation, lost of lives and property through out the path of this hurricane. I'm in south Georgia and will be out of power for another week. I heard the the lake lure flowering bridge is gone. How sad...praying for everyone involved.
I've been through three California wildfires. In hindsight I should have bought or rented an RV right away took 30 days off to think it through and then started a new life.
Pretty Place Chapel in Cleveland, SC was hit bad. I know you did a video not too long ago. Greenville, SC people are being told it will be weeks before power is on.
