  • Enjoy the video! Here is the update video for the Dude's CB unrelated pair of Carpet Chameleons. This is a 24" x 18" x 18" Exo Terra and are available for sale at the Dude's warehouse in Houston, TX. These unique chameleons stay on the forest floor and can be kept in glass terrarium, unlike most Chameleons. The plants are flourishing with the SuperGrow and rock combo allowing for proper soil drainage and aeration. The soil is the Dude's Terra Fauna with the Dude's SuperGrow utilized as a drainage medium.
    Small sticks and vines are utilized in the water area to prevent feeder insect death and easy movement for the Chameleons. Plenty of leaf litter is always available for them. They are fed a varied diet with plenty of different supplements. Purchased as a CB unrelated pair from Frank Payne.
    Enjoy the video! Thank you everyone for your support.

    Nice stuff. I have my ball python in a 40 gallon long bioactive set-up from you and it's perfect, heat and humidity stays the same, plants are now starting to outgrow the tank and she loves it. It's a jungle in there.

    That was quick lol those chameleons are looking really nice. Wish I could drop by the store some time but you're way on the far side of Houston from me unfortunately. Also, would you ever consider getting red eye crocodile skinks? They seem straight up your ally

      Hi Martin. This is for Carpet Chameleons (Dwarf). They would do great in a Biopod Terra!

  • @sdfklghlsfiot

    I thought glass tanks were not good for chameleons due to poor air flow. Or are exo tank your using has better air flow then older tanks.

    • @TheBioDudeJoshHalter
      @TheBioDudeJoshHalter  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can use them if you have experience and know how to properly maintain airflow. Carpets are a little different in the fact they live in the forest floor, not the under canopy.

    Hi Josh, your videos are great! Full of important and interesting informations. Learn a lot, thank you for it. But I miss one thing and its how to keep feeding insect for reptiles like crickets, grasshoppers, cockroach and others for long time with minimum mortality, maximum nutritional value and natality. Thank you for answer.

    • @TheBioDudeJoshHalter
      @TheBioDudeJoshHalter  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Keeping them clean! That is by far the most important aspect of keeping feeders. Proper nutrition, hydration, air flow, places to hide (such as egg crate, cork) are all necessary to create more surface area to prevent ammonia and other bad gas/bacteria buildup.
      I use my Bug Grub for my feeders and it works great!

      If the cage is not large enough with no visual barriers you could potentially run into an issue, but they have been great!

    Do you think an 18x18x24 would be too cramped for a "baby" beardie?

    • @danieljason368
      @danieljason368 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should rethink it a 18x18x24 is for reptiles that climb and are up high you a tank that’s short and long

    Hey so I’m looking to set up a bio active terrarium for a Frilled Dragon, and after looking at your website I saw that you don’t carry a kit for one- which is fine! However, which kit would someone recommend that would be suitable for a Frilled Dragon?

    • @TheBioDudeJoshHalter
      @TheBioDudeJoshHalter  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do not have one since Frillie's are all in such enormous enclosures. That is a custom kit we put together.

    Hey, I have a few questions...I'm a new owner of a Pacman Frog and he's still fairly young so I'm keeping him in a plastic tub until he gets a little older. I've seen the video for your tomato frog/pacman frog bioactive terrarium and I was wondering...the point of your products is so your tank is self cleaning so it makes your terrarium last longer than the occasional ones I've seen on TH-cam correct? is there ever a point where you do have to take everything out of the tank and buy another one of your kits? And I was also wondering, can you put a Pacman frog of any age in that terrarium or will the bugs that live in there hurt a baby pacman frog(for example). Or do the frogs have to reach a higher age in order to go into a terrarium of that magnitude?
    Thank you very much and I hope that you answer all my questions...you may even have a future customer ; )

    • @TheBioDudeJoshHalter
      @TheBioDudeJoshHalter  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Gabriel. You are correct. In a true bioactive enclosure there is no need to ever changed the substrate as long as your biome is healthy and thriving. You can absolutely put a baby/juvenile paceman on bioactive! If you have more questions, please, feel free to reach out to our Customer Care Specialist, Amber. She would be happy to answer all of your questions. (717)305-0684.

      They bred, female laid 28 fertile eggs. Eating and doing great! This is my most critiqued setup and by far one of my most successful with this species. How many people do you see breeding carpet chameleons? : )

    • @Jroget30
      @Jroget30 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Quite a few on Facebook and Instagram I know most of the breeders. But I’m happy for your success. I wanted a male and female in the same enclosure. Now I know it’s possible.
