Stacey so nice you like the tune penned at Abbotsford just before sir walter had his breakfast 😀 1825 the tune now belongs to city of dundee any body can play it 😀 it was bought by public subscription in 1940 for over £135.a lot of money then on behalf of cheif librarian tune played on pipes all round the world 🌎 its played at hide park on queens birthday for royal horse artillery they gallop before setting up for 21 gun salute 😀 better cannons than calumbo 😆 🤣 the 2 companies who formed the coldstream guards 💂♂️ were at the seige of the town dundee 1st Sept 1651 general monk ❤❤💙💜💙

There's usually a big one on a '5th' anniversary of major battles - 125th, 130th, etc. Check out Shiloh, Murfreesboro, Chickamauga, Franklin, Nashville, Chattanooga, etc., etc. Also search for CW reenactment units near you...

Though the song is now a British military song, Bonnie Dundee was a Scottish Rebel song.
