Sounds great man! Would you change anything about it? I was thinking about a cattless downpipe and just the catback for now and then add the midpipe later
Jonathan Orasanu I honestly wouldn’t change anything about it. Catless downpipe is great if you go with a stage 2 tune, but it won’t do much for sound. You’ll likely get very similar sound and very similar gains without the performance midpipe. I first did a downpipe, then an Active Autowerkes axel back, and had a ton of drone, so I had to ditch the AA axel back. I think I’m just sensitive to drone. I daily this car so I can’t have an exhaust that’s annoying. I was pleased that there’s no drone with the awe exhaust. You will likely want to set your cold start rpm to around 900rpm if you have bootmod3. I had it at 1100rpm and cold starts were too loud when temps were a little colder.
JP Bredenkamp I don’t believe a video would really capture the level of drone this exhaust makes. I’m sensitive to drone, and I’d consider this exhaust to be drone free. There are very little vibrations transferred to the cabin. I had an Active Autowerke Signature exhaust, and it droned way too much. I even tried putting two large vibrant resonators in the stock midpipe. It still droned too much. The AA exhaust also seemed to transfer a lot of vibrations to the cabin. The AWE exhaust has neither issue.
Does it smell like shit when you turn on the ac in your car because of the catless? I basically have this set up but on my audi and the smell is horrible. Just bought an f30 and basically restarting a build :/
No smell with the AC on. The only time you smell the exhaust is at a stop light with the windows down. I could see an exhaust leak causing more exhaust fumes to enter the cabin. I would recommend going catless, it’s worth it.
Hey bro, I am about to switch off from an AA. The fucking drone is unbearable. Is comfort mode usable at all with your set up? With the AA, I have to stay in sport or the drone is worse.
I’m about to do this to my N20 BMW 428i I bought from awe The quad exhaust and the performance midpipe as well. Will it be this loud ? Or do I need to buy a downpipe as well to make it more more louder.
Willie Gonzalez I bet it will be loud enough with the stock downpipe. You may want to purchase bootmod3 so that you can decrease that cold start rpm. The cold starts can be too loud!
Moto Monkeys I’m just waiting for them to finish making the quad exhaust I got my midpipe in! I’m just nervous it won’t sound as aggressive and loud lol it doesn’t matter about the cold start though. No one is home in the morning lol
Willie Gonzalez the axel back portion will change the sound the most. I would get the downpipe and do a bm3 stage 2 tune. The performance improvement is worth every penny.
Andy Utiu I haven’t heard the Milltek Performance exhaust in person. It would be hard for me to recommend any n20 exhaust over the AWE. It can be tough to make a four cylinder sound good without making it drone. The AWE exhaust does it perfectly.
KNOX GAMING yeah, a shop would do it, but if you have jack stands and basic tools, you can easily do it yourself! I bought the setup used from a guy on Facebook marketplace. I’m always looking for deals 😛. I picked the entire system up for $750. New it’s ~$2k. Which I would say is worth it. I wasted money on cheap exhausts before, it pays to do it right the first time.
I know this was a while ago and you may not even have the car anymore but with the tune from jordan tune do you have to take it to a shop or is it on a computer
N26 here, AA Axleback, too quiet for me but I like the sound. Don’t want to spend another on an exhaust however my shop does custom set ups. Would a muffler delete suffice?
So with the Active Autowerke Axleback and Catless DP I have some drone now -.- but I had it mild with the Axleback before the Downpipe. Is it best to switch to AWE? The drone is annoying how do I get rid of it.
Love this sound especially for the n20
It was a really good sound for the n20!
Great sounding exhaust, and good to hear what it sounds like in a F30 with a proper manual transmission, like mine.

Sounds and looks great man! Could you throw up a video showing if there’s any drone on the highway? Or if there’s any vibration in the cabin?

I got an ER catless downpipe on my F30. I run with the AC on full blast with no issues.
I had the AA and the drone was terrible. With the AWE exhaust, there is zero drone and it sounds better all around.
@@LenartoGarage yep, I ended up going with an m performance exhaust.
@@LenartoGarage yup I’m dumping my AA for an AWE tuning can’t stand the drone! The catless downpipe drew it out more!

Willie Gonzalez the axel back portion will change the sound the most.
I would get the downpipe and do a bm3 stage 2 tune. The performance improvement is worth every penny.
Moto Monkeys if I don’t get the downpipe will my sound just improve and slightly the performance ?
What do you think of the Milltek Performance Exhaust compared to the AWE Exhaust?
Andy Utiu I haven’t heard the Milltek Performance exhaust in person. It would be hard for me to recommend any n20 exhaust over the AWE. It can be tough to make a four cylinder sound good without making it drone. The AWE exhaust does it perfectly.
Can I get a customs shop to do this for me and what’s the cost of the whole setup ?

This setup sounds so great! Just to clarify; does your setup include the AWE performance midpipe as well?
Karan Karayi it does include the AWE midpipe. VRSF catless downpipe as well.
Moto Monkeys I hear ya. Thanks for the info!
I know this was a while ago and you may not even have the car anymore but with the tune from jordan tune do you have to take it to a shop or is it on a computer
Bootmod3 tunes can be installed right from your phone using a cable!
Is this louder than the double single sided ? Or all the same
All the same
Can you link me the downpipe you got?
N26 here, AA Axleback, too quiet for me but I like the sound. Don’t want to spend another on an exhaust however my shop does custom set ups. Would a muffler delete suffice?
I would not recommend it on this car. It takes a well engineered exhaust to make the n20/n26 sound good!
@@LenartoGarage what makes the AWE different than AA?
The whole muffler design is different. Very different sound.
How’s the smell with the catless dp????
You could smell it at stop lights when you had the windows down. It wasn’t terrible, but definitely noticeable.
Did you have to cut out larger holes for the quad tips? Is this the stock bumper?
V3M2 the exhaust comes with a template to cut the passenger side. It’s a 328i, so it had a dual exit on the drivers side.
Can i use this one my 320i xdrive 2017
Your best bet is to checkout AWEs website. They will tell you what fits your car.
did you delete cold start
I did, it was a bit too loud.

Absolutely. I had the Active Autowerke exhaust (+ catless) and had bad drone. No drone with the AWE exhaust.
@@LenartoGarage does the AWE sound different than AA? In what way?
@@iAlwaysSpeakTheTruth yeah, less drone, better all around, it’s tough to describe!
Is this quad version louder or sound different than the dual exhaust by awe or does is just add a different look
kyle I’m pretty sure it’s just for looks. They appear to use the same muffler.
How much did everything cost
When you say everything, are you referring to the cost of exhaust and install? AWE has prices on their site, and install is easy as a DIY.

How much hp?
Negligible
will this fit ona 320i??
