    • @NWAuto
      @NWAuto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I turned the burbles way down after this video. It’s very annoying when it just keeps going off every time you let off the gas. Wasn’t like that before the VRSF downpipe.

  • @mattc9279

    I’m in the same boat I have a MPE muffler with a res delete, when I put the high flow DP on I couldn’t believe how loud the cold start was. It’s so loud dude, no video on TH-cam really gives you an idea how loud that cold start is.
    I ended putting the stock DP back on till I can figure out a solution so it’s not so loud. Even with the valve closed with the MPE the cold start was ridiculous. Not neighbor friendly at all.

    Did you notice any significant performance gains after the downpipe was installed? Or just for the acoustics?

    • @NWAuto
      @NWAuto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I noticed a very small performance gain. I also noticed the temp gauge would stay slightly lower during aggressive driving. Both of these differences were very subtle though. My main reason for installing this downpipe was because it is required for running a stage 2 tune.

  • @aarvin1
    @aarvin1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Hi mate could you please explain the difference between the normal decat downpipe and the high flow catted downpipe? Why not just choose the catless one?

    • @NWAuto
      @NWAuto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The high flow DP still has a catalytic converter, but it is a less restrictive cat than the stock one. My main reason for buying it was so I could use the stage 2 tune, which requires an aftermarket DP.
      I selected the high flow DP over catless because it's not as loud as the catless DP. I have a full exhaust already and didn't want the car being too loud. And it also doesn't smell as much. Some cars with catless DP have a lot of exhaust gas smell.

    I’m looking for performance gains. I, too, would rather it wasn’t too loud. I love the awe sound but agree with the downpipe it may be a bit much. I have to find out if my tune allows for adjusting settings such as cold start and burbles. Would it make sense to get the downpipe and axle back awe exhaust? What would the ideal set up be in your opinion. Not looking for drone or extremely loud cold starts.

    Did the downpipe throw a CEL for you?

      Not right away, but yeah it did until I tuned it out

      @@NWAuto Interesting! i was looking at this downpipe too and read on forums that the catted version wouldn't throw a CEL. Got me excited since i don't want to tune mine (yet)..

      @@DemonoIogic I think some people use 02 spacers or something like that. My advice is just buy the tune with it. Unless you have some warranty you're trying to protect

      @@NWAuto Thanks for your response! Sadly tuning seems to be the best option then i guess. Since i don't like the idea of the car possibly running too rich or lean :/ Wasn't planning on tuning it this early on tho.

      @@DemonoIogic You can continue running the stock map, but use the tune just to disable the CEL. Although I think running Bootmod3 stage 1 or 2 + the Bootmo3 trans flash makes the car drive smoother and better overall

      Mine is for the 335i. But VRSF does make downpipes for the 328i also.
