Maurice André - English Chamber Orchestra - Vivaldi Concerto for 2 Trumpets

Maurice André was often considered the best trumpet player in the world during his lifetime. One of the pieces he was best known for performing was Antonio Vivaldi's "Concerto for 2 Trumpets, Strings and Harpsichord in C Major". Here is a 1977 recording with the English Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Charles Mackerras.

I have the tape of this masterpiece recording. Maurice Andre is at his highest. On Vivian's trumpet Concerto Maurice Andre brings the sound of trompet at an unbelievable pure gold. Charles Mackeras leads the Orchestra very well. It's a masterpiece with no doubt to have in every private collection

This sounds like two trumpets playing to a chamber orchestra far away. The 2nd trumpeter is not even mentioned.

He’s actually playing both. They overdubbed him playing the second part.
