I like your technical videos, which seemed to contain simple and basic information. But in each of them I manage to find something new that helps in my work. Thank you very much! Your presentation of information is so soft and pleasant. I do not know anyone on TH-cam who is more pleasant, who would have the charisma of a teacher and could present the material respectfully and positively.
Awesome , Tut came in the right time.Just started to wonder recently about these maps / Word Space Normal, Thickness/ The usage of ID mask vs. Polygon fill , and that you used AO straight as a black mask very great tips too. I will play with these at my new character.
amazing !!! things i needed to know but didnt know i needed to know them!!! thank you very much ! and dont know anyone else that explains it as well! especially the
Excellent video Abe, thanks for sharing. Regarding the cage overlapping and strange artifacts, it would be good if in new versions of Substance Painter they added the option of being able to modify the cage with a brush like Marmoset has.
yes i defintely think Marmoset has better baking tools, due the cage and some other maps that you can generate. Not a necessity but definitely good to have
@AbeLeal3D Thanks. I ask because baking several objects at once at 4k takes a lot of time. So I would exclude the thickness map. But I don't know exactly in which cases I need it.
Hey Abe, super useful video as usual. I have a question for you. I'm thinking to buy Adobe Substance Painter and Designer through steam. They both are around 63usds currently (2024 version). What do you think? Personally, I have all the stuff I need for my work included in that software. So, I do not need updates, I think. Will I get access to the software in lifetime if I buy them from steam? What is your opinion on this? Btw I cannot afford to pay 50$ for every month for their subscription plan.

Hi Abe, but how to get rid of these black area completely that can be seen at 06:36 or these doesnt effect that much while texturing
you might need a nicer low poly, with a little bit more resolution to avoid that stretching, for a small asset like this is shouldnt affect that much
amazing studio
Thanks a lot!
As much as a lot of cg artists and I myself hate Adobe, Substance Painter is still a great investment and the top choice for texturing
yep i wish the business model was slightly different with a rent to own or permanent license but it is what it is
really helpfull video as always, but i wonderin something at 0:54 , is there any method for that in blender? or just rename all meshes one by one?

So we only need thickness, if we work with skin or glass?
@@juliaalder2007 you can use it for other things but yeah those are the most common ones
