Damien and his Wholesomeness partly became Darkiplier!!! So Sad, the Most Wholesome, Nice, Sweet and most Human of all characters Mark played....Became Darkiplier!!!
Well, Darkiplier was never 100% pure evil. A moment that comes to mind is during Markiplier TV, where Dark tells Wilford that he respects him. Seeing in this show just how much Damien cares about his friends, it makes sense that he would continue to care about William after he becomes Wilford. And that line is bonus proof that Damien is the one in control while Celine is asleep (as seen in the animation titled "Damien") because by this point Celine also doesn't like William/Wilford so she wouldn't have said that line.

I feel like what Damien/Darkiplier says in AHWM is a reference to this, Damien cared about Actor Mark and was so confused and hurt when he died, but in the end it was all a set up by Actor Mark to steal literally everything from him. Damien was the only one in WKM who cared at all but he was left in the dark and used by the people whom he trusted, and Actor Mark got away with it. It's so sad.

@@ethan.2011. Celine is asleep right now, so Damien is the one who controls Darkiplier for basically the whole time we see him. Essentially, Celine spent a long time being in control of the D.A.'s body while Damien was asleep inside their head. Eventually, Celine became exhausted, and it was at this point that Actor Mark finally confronted them. Now understanding what they needed to do, Celine gave up control to Damien and went to sleep, while Damien made himself into the villain of Mark's story just as request, with the hopes of ruining his life like he ruined theirs.

Ever since the end of Unus Annus, when I went on my watch-all-Markiplier-project-I-missed-before-binge I have just come back to this amazing masterpiece over and over again. Feels so great, it's an amazing piece of work. I will watch all the other things as well, sure, but this one is just especially great in my opinion, because while it is still hilarious, it does just tell a coherent longer story and isn't quite as all over the place as the chose-your-own-adventure are. It's easier to just watch through because I don't need to make choices and can just sit back and watch.

When he's the actor playing him, they're the same, but Luke still isn't Mark, he's just played by him. Same for Damien. A distinction that is especially significant when Mark plays three of the main and several of the side characters. Matter of fact, Mark isn't Mark either, by which I mean that the guy lying dead in a bathrobe is a character called Mark or Markiplier played by the actor who goes by Mark or Markiplier. i just realized while rewatching that right after we talk to the Colonel, who says that Mark probably slipped on the stairs going to the bathroom, we immediately see the bathroom door on the way out. This shows the audience that the Colonel's story is definitely untrue, which could already be presumed from how he told it, but its still a cool detail.
