Im actually wondering if the second filter in your "groove" rack is really passing the lows. isnt the notch filter cutting them off before? (unfortunately i can only watch this video on shitty laptop speakers right now since my prod.system hasnt internet and i dont use ableton so i cannot check) Im struggling a bit reproducing your techniques in cubase :D
Thanks you ! I love how you break the wall of internet bitween you and your students. You really teach us in the details with rythme during the video. This thing is no more about another one basic tutorial on youtube, this is more like real master class. Thanks to you, I' ve so much grown in my listening during producing sesh! Keep goin!
it's very tough to replicate some of the routing and plugin functions in logic, but using busses, and googling alternative plugins will help get you there, albeit at a cost usually/ but saying that there are some great free plugins about. or just get ableton and use both :D
Awesome video just as always. I just don’t get one thing for now - why using high hat clip for sidechaining and not just side chain bass with the kick? I do it all the time (in fl tho) and it’s working just fine for me.
Because you have a lot more control when using a separate trigger track. Most of the time you only want the sidechain to happen during the transient of the kick, while during the tail of the kick doesn't often need it. Also in Drum & Bass, since the tempo is so quick, using your main kick will sometimes result in the sidechain cutting away too much of the bassline, this is why having a short hihat will help in getting a quicker sidechain movement.
ARTFX aight makes sense, thanks for the reply. Keep up the good work man. Will join you on some of your next streams, kinda have some questions about other stuff, your advise would be awesome
Fucking awesome stuff again man. Gunna take notes on both these tutorials and try to whack out a cheeky, old shool reesey neurofunk track with this bass patch. 🤟🙏
Dude, used to watch you years ago, have to say i'm impressed, youve come a long way! second half is naughty!

Moniker Monk thanks! Even though there’ll be a learning curve, I may have to get Alberton 😅

That really reminds me of early Virus Recordings stuff.
Dope! thnx!
Informative af
Thanks!
Thanks! :) very nice vid!
Dope. Though, I'm not sure why you didn't just use drums you've previously done, they'd be dope as.

Where’s part 1?
So you basically only kept the lows and low-mids of the FM8 bass....
Anybody got a recommendation for a multi-band distortion that doesn't cost $100?
Trash 2 or fab filter saturn, see If you can get an educational discount!
1st!
This is nice, but not many artists using that type of bass nowadays
Use the process to make something new or resample it like he says at the end!
