2:33 in serum this can be achieved more specifically in the osc table edit menu you can find and add/subtract the fundamental/any unwanted frequencies if you head over to 'Process' you will get a drop down menu with a bunch of stuff and you will see something like 'remove fundamental' in there select it and it will obviously remove the fundamental. I just thought this is way is more optimal for the workflow.
@@artfxdnb i kinda realised that after posting lol you can acheive the same results with a variety of ways and thats what i like about sound design in general, if it sounds good it is good regardless of the steps followed in the process, thanks for the attention man!
can you explain why you would bounce it and put it in a sampler? i feel like most of what you did can be done within serum plus maybe automating an autofilter or an eq?
He's mostly about processing (I guess on hardware but that's not a necesity), and crancking the dist on hardware, maybe sometimes on 808s. But I'd also like to see a tutorial on it w/ or w/out Serum.
@@urigeheadmot1196 lots of distortion on a really low mid-bass basically. I had some tests and managed to make some interesting benny-l'ly sounds. Ofc not exactly like he did, but sure thing it was in a right direction. Also it's mostly about a good waveform that leaves almost the same picture but changes a little bit, creating this "car motor" or whatever you wanna call it sound. At least this was my experience
Great job. One thing I’ve started doing is using as many effects outside of a synth vst as possible. This way you can slot different sounds in and out while still keeping the same effect rack.
I want more tutorials on using samples and designing breaks for dnb. I'm looking to produce some really techy sounding liquid. Kind of like if DLR or Dillinja made liquid.
The audio quality of the video was a bit glitchy but it still gets a thumbs up for the quality of the tutorial. It was also great that you took the time to explain how to avoid phase issues throughout the entire signal chain.
I've asked several times, but it seems, that there is no producer, that can't handle this. A guy with the channel "noise is king" did it once. So here is my request: 808, 909 kinda sounding short and long hihats, crash cymbals and metallic percussive sounds like that. If you give it a try, that would be amazing and help me to synthesize own drum samples. Because snares, Tom's, kicks aren't that hard to make. Thank you very much!
I tried to follow along using simpler, as I dont have sampler. I seem to be able to do most of it, but the audio quality of the sample seems kinda crappy. Any tips? Additionally, the sample doesnt seems to speed up when pitched up. Is it possible to do this in simpler?
Can you do a tutorial on sidechaining basses in DnB? I typically make heavier dubstep so the sidechain is usually more than it needs to be. But with DnB Im having a hard time ducking the basses yet making it sound... not awkward. Iv'e even tried multiband ducking.
I use multi band ducking using Fabfilter Pro MB. I sidechain just the sub bass frequencies in the bass to just the high frequencies of the kick (so it's just triggered by the transient) , give it a few milliseconds of lookahead and about 50ms of release. The sub frequencies in the kid last for ages to they make the ducking go on for too long. So that's why I just use the high frequencies of the kick as the trigger, because they don't last too long.
I dunno kicks should be higher on the frequency range then your bass normall you dont use a lot of sidechain compresion with dubstep its more sample selection
"To make this cool bass you open up serum and..." 18 minutes of unknown language and campfire dances "... so that's how you make it". I'm like "wh... what?" *uninstalls daw*
Serum is better as an all in one synth. ‘Noise’ sounds really weird to me on Abletons Wave table. (Anyone know how to fix this?) However I hope they start to layout the rest of the Ableton synths like Wavetable with the expandable view and movement indicators.
Since you asked for what to do next, I would love a tutorial on the classic Kemal sound. In my opinion no one has ever done it better than him. Something like this th-cam.com/video/5QNjHVFyinM/w-d-xo.html
Because I'm a pain in the arse ... if you've got a G in there then it's not an F Phrygian mode. If you lowered the G to F# then it would be but hey it sounds great anyway whatever it is.
I don't really think in scales and modes any more. I just think "Here's the root note and these other notes all have their own vibe". Flat second has a dark, ominous sound. Flat 5th is jarring and sounds kind of satanic. And so on. I usually avoid major third because it sounds too major. You can use any notes, just be aware of how they sound and whether you want that sound or not. Likewise with chords. They've all got their own flavour, it's a case of whether you want that flavour or not.
"try just a little compression." *proceeds to max settings xD
i guess I am pretty randomly asking but does anyone know a good site to watch new movies online ?

True, this video is old, I would just edit the FFT bins instead and remove the fundamental or indeed use the process filter

Jesus I've been trying to figure this out for 20 years. Going to go buy Serum, sure hope you're sponsored by them.
Reese bass has existed since the 90's before serum was around. Its doable on many other synths too

he bounced the audio and resampled in the simpler/sampler
Awesome thanks man
Remind me of the bass in "Arachnoid" from Mintjam. Very nice video, thank you!

Planning on doing any more Falcon tutorials? Not too many people are covering it.

how to make a bass like in a global dj track?

maaaaaaaaan, please, care more about antialiasing! use quality settings of operator everywhere you can, it would improve your sounds a lot...
That's not the issue, I know what the issue is and it has to do with the Focusrite ASIO driver and how it syncs to other audio drivers.
