@Existential Crisis Core on Infinite Earths Played this with a friend and we called major bullshit on that when the Angler ended us. Actually managed to kill the wall of bears against the Trapper though which was awesome in the moment. But this then caused us to be ahead of the curve and have to do extra winning runs to unlock more mechanics to progress which sucks.

I wish I had a direct ways to offer tips to him xD NL is pretty cool and I want him to succeed before he gets too burnt out. But man I want to rip my dick off (as sips would say) when he forgets how the combat works.
a little of both, the game is super unforgiving and deliberately skewed against the pc, which i think is fun for lore reasons >:) im nearly done the game myself and i so so hope that nl is able to make it through the story! im worried he might overlook some of the more nuanced bits because some stuff is super obscure, but im excited to watch it play out

The misplay of putting the squirrel in front of the submerged unit so the bear couldnt move allowing you but stronger to hit 2 empty spaces for 6 is fantastic.
It's not that I can't believe NL didn't read the card (or just didn't remember) it's just about how pog that play would've been that really disappoints me. Went down to the comments to see if people were making a big deal out of this, I'm glad there's not too much outrage lol.

Just finished act 2 this evening and to me it felt much weaker compared to act one in terms of gameplay. For the most part it was just repeating the same fights over and over until you get lucky

Actually all bosses are bears, if you win to fast. Like you're supposed to fight the boss and lose the first time, if you don't then Shadow Man get angy and spawns and infinite number of bears. Technically possible to still win, but SUPER difficult

Yeh, the gameplay, theming and music is so good that I almost want to see it made into a full cardgame with roguelike modes and PvP. I do feel that the gameplay would need to be massively expanded and redesigned for that, however. LIke, the gameplay feels so "perfect" because it only lasts as long as the fascination can keep up with the current level of complexity and content.
I got a squirrel revival statue that brought my squirrels back after sacking and accidentally one shotted the three bosses with my free stuff stompy deck. Luckily I puzzled everything and got to the spoiler part but damn I wanna do this part of the game again.

Two ways he could have won the trapper fight: 1 - Kept a squirrel instead of saccing it for the frog to summon the Daus a turn later, blocking most damage he took and doing more damage back 2 - He could have traded his pelt for that 3/7 submerged Moose Buck and been UNSTOPPABLE
NL is the case study for testing the failure of the adage that one would be able to get at least about a 50% in a true false quiz by picking at random because he seems to only be capable of choosing wrong answers.
Not to style on NL but I did love these videos so much I got the game and flew through to the angler fight so fast he literally had to summon two rows of grizzly bears and said "too soon, you can't beat me yet" lol. That being said the game does actually get hard later on *edit: also though how long is it gonna take him to progress in the escape room meta
I always put the Mantis sigil on either the stoat, wolf, or stinkbug. That sigil being attached to something with 2 health rather than 1 can make a huge difference, and upgrading it at a fire makes it absurd. Stinkbug nullifying attack power of opposing creatures is also primo. Mantis is definitely my favorite card
My thinking with the Geck is that it seems okay but if I wanted a free creature to sacrifice, id draw a squirrel. I think it comes into play when its later in a round when you run out of squirrels, which doesnt seem to happen too often.
It's free, but unlike the squirrel, it can actually deal 1 damage, which is useful when a lot of creatures only have 1 health. It's a squirrel that can kill something (especially if you decide to put poison touch on it).
For trapper you want to yeet your units into the traps so that they generate pelts so that you can take away all of the trapper's monsters on the second phase.
For those wondering I'm on act 3, no spoilers but a serious warning: Act 1 looks beautiful Act 2 is a Gameboy game Act 3 is like Act 1 but against someone else. You get way less cards and have to learn a new resource system

I steamrolled the first part with squirrel statue with the 3 sac buff. Just get that and high cost and cheese every fight

The geck is not only free but don't forget you can upgrade it at a campfire too, so you can have a free 1/3 or 2/1
