  • Yup, so I pulled the trigger on the #akai #force. I have it midi synced here to my #boss #rc505. You can see my stumbling a bit with muscle memory but still a fun little session. I guess this is sort of a #techno #disco jam. The Force has many uses and I'm still trying to figure out it's best use for my current workflow.

      Thanks man! You have a great channel by the way. I’m also getting into using the Force in a similar way. I’m trying to do all tracking including vocals in the Force before mastering in Ableton. It’s giving me similar vibes to when I used to work all in a Tascam 4 track. Less tinkering more creating! Hope to see you around man!

    Starting to see more people going standalone. The force I have found is a perfect way to do it. I have been working on my next project and really knocking out track on top of track without any issues. I was an early adopter and returned it, but I never thought I would be buying it again. I am glad I gave it another chance and the freedom of standalone has really opened up a different side of my music abilities.

      I feel like the Force is a slept on device. I’m liking just being at the Force with some guitar tracks I’ve recorded then adding drums and vocals in arrangement mode. The limitations remind me of working in a 4 track cassette recorder but with the added benefit of synths, drums, samples and effects.

    Hi Josh,
    Nice setting ;) but HOW do you connect the RC-505 and wakeboard tot the Force, so it syncs the Midi? I cannot find info on that. It seems that on one channel of the force you receive one specific keyboard. But how do I set this? And the RC-505 must 'sync' the clock - how does one set this?

    • @JoshElliottMusic
      @JoshElliottMusic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To be honest I don't have this gear anymore so I'll have to try to remember. Set 505 midi sync to internal and Force midi sync to external. Midi cable out of 505 into in of Force. The Keyboard goes into the Force usb but I think you need to set up the midi channel. Search TH-cam for "Akai Force with midi controller" or" MPC Live with midi controller" and you should find the answer. I hope that helps,

    Hi great work...out of curiosity why did u choose to loop into boss instead of force?

    • @JoshElliottMusic
      @JoshElliottMusic  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Sim. Thanks. I actually don't have any of this gear anymore. But the Force really sucks for audio looping. It does not have auto fades on the clips so you can hear a "click" at the first transient. Maybe someday Akai will fix it in an update but I doubt it's very high on the priority list.

      Hey thanks. Greetings from Wisconsin! For this set up I had everything running through the Force. So the guitar into the 505 then the 505 is being monitored through the Force with midi sync happening between the two. From the Force the main out would go to the PA

    • @JoshElliottMusic
      @JoshElliottMusic  12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I didn’t use Ableton Sync. It’s just a midi cable from the midi out of the rc505 to the midi in of the Force. Set RC505 midi sync to internal and Force midi to external

    Hmm 🤔 brother Josh I’m still debating on pulling the trigger on purchasing the Akai Force myself. Not bad for your first song using the Force keep on learning it if anybody can you will.!! Also may the Force be with you. Lol 😂

      The Force is a beast! I’ve been using it more for production than live jamming. The arranger mode is pretty good and I’ve even recorded vocals into it. It’s a nice step away from the computer and Ableton. I forget Rodriquez, do you own an MPC already? There are a lot of similarities to the Force and going between the MPC and Force I feel like I’m in the same universe but maybe a different space ship. May the Force be with you too my friend ! 😉

      @@rodriquezbailey1832 Your welcome brother. It's pretty fun to have the Force set up on a stand by itself and just go over and start working on music and being inspired and not distracted. But you know how it is. The stand alone MPC's offer a similar experience. Note: If you are into sampling the MPC is currently a little better than the Force. Have a great weekend!

    • @JoshElliottMusic
      @JoshElliottMusic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey sorry I missed you comment! It would be RC505 as master (midi sync set to internal) going into Force(set to receive clock) 505 midi out into Force midi in. Then I would set the boss audio going into an audio channel of the Force. Hope this helps. Maybe you already got it set up!?

    • @squiggleswing8156
      @squiggleswing8156 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JoshElliottMusic Curious if you can record audio on the force while the RC505 is the master? Everytime I try to record a clip on the force it says it cannot record due to a change in tempo.

      You can loop with the Force however Akai has not put in auto fades into the audio clip that is recorded like most loopers have. Because of this there is an audible “click” at the beginning of some loops on the Force. For this reason in my opinion it’s not ready to be used as a looper. Hopefully AKAI fixes this in an update
