I didn't know, until now, that you can grieve somebody you never even knew..But now I know what it's like. Rich was an amazing brother and he's words and songs are helping me to understand more of the depth of God's mercy and grace. I have been looking and praying for answers for a while and somehow (The Lord) I thought I'd listen to one of Rich's songs, then another and another....I'm so greatful, 'cause the Lord is doing something new, deep and fresh in my life. Thanks for posting this stuff!!
Wow what a song. I was born in Roswell on Walker Air Force base in 1955. My parents divorced when I was eight and we left- never to return. I have studied the place and entertained the idea of going there. Thank you for sharing this beautiful moment in singing and playing with Rich. Thank you for this unique song of New Mexico. Grateful to have come by this video. It made the day sweet. Praying always for you all.
I remember hearing on the radio about Rich passing and I didn't know his music well. I have since come to understand his brilliant insights about life and God and what a wonderful songwriter he was!!! I don't know anyone today who compares . I spent time in New Mexico as a kid but was never inspired to write about it. I just found out today Mitch was in the car with Rich . Our hearts become like Swiss cheese over the many we lose along the way but our hope is in Christ, not this world. Thanks for sharing this
OH THIS IS MY FAVORITIE Mitch&Ritch song.....I had given up that it would even make it here... I never got the chance to see Ritch, he died before I met Christ, but his music has been a BIG part of my walk.. I heard and met Mitch in Savannah Ga, a few years back... Wonderful tallent!!!
been using him to speak to me. I've learned so much about Rich and am eager to learn more about him and his life. However, it has truly spoken to my heart and leading me to search and read the bible more and better my relationship with the Lord. I don't know if anyone can even relate to what I'm saying but I just feel so much better listening to him speak and sing. He truly was a vessel being used by the Lord and I am so grateful for that.
Five months after this was filmed, almost to the day, Rich went home. Some live on through their children, some through their careers...Rich lives on in our hearts through his music. We miss you, Rich~
I can't remember what has affected me as much as learning about Rich Mullins and Mitch. and how he was left alone to Carry on by by himself and what he has acomplished himself and missing his friends and brother Rich.
just a few months before Rich was killed. we were blessed to see him in concert twice, an experience unlike almost any other "concert" - only Michael Card was close. with both men you felt you'd been to Bible school when it was over, that God had been speaking right there. No show, no pretense, just the Word.
I miss Rich. My whole family mourned his death. We listened to him daily. My parents saw him a week before the crash. Mitch is coming to my church in November. Very excited!
I have gotten to "know" Rich through these TH-cam videos and his music. Thank you for sharing them. He has impressed upon me that we all have worth in God's kingdom. It isn't just what RIch said or sang but what he lived.
This is my favorite song by McVicker. The lyrics perfectly describe the happenings, landscape, and mannerisms of NM and its people, at least as far as I have witnessed in recent years.
Yeah my brother I never had, and one that I truly wanted to meet, oh yeah, based on one of his interviews which was true, I'm a guy, 🌹 I and we, love you Rich🌹 wish I could have said that to your face.
I know. And yet, I’m pretty sure rich would say something like thats nice and all, but please don’t waste your energy on grief, put it into the kingdom. Something Like that. But it still hurts!
This song, along with 9 others, is available on Mitch McVicker's debut album, released in 1998..recording for this album was actually completed just before Mullin's tragic death, and he sings background vocals on New Mexico and several other songs on the album.
I know exactly how you feel. My road to Rich's music is similar. In 1997, without even knowing that he had passed, I purchased a cassette (the tribute) didn't even make the connection that he had passed. I know right? How could I have not had a clue? A few weeks ago I was alone at home, something that NEVER happens and it felt so odd to me that it made me sad. I spoke to my husband on the phone and he prayed for me and I then began listening to Rich's music. I believe that God has truly
@@sfvaitkus I recently spent some time in NM and made a video with that song, only an hour or so from where Rich was living - th-cam.com/video/8A58cJS87RY/w-d-xo.html
What an incredible performance. Rich's harmony is spot-on and beautiful. And a great song, I believe penned by Mitch. Are there any other cuts from this venue. Great quality. TH-cam rocks.
@briziservices Glad you like it! This dvd, along with a Chapel service rich performed at Wheaton are available for $9 each through the college. Check out the link I posted under "more info".

Beautifully done Mitch..

So loved forever. Rich was a major catalyst for me understanding grace in Christ.

This will always be one of my favorite songs. Love me some Mitch McVicker. “Heaven is Waiting” is another favorite.

My heart miss the music Rich would have made.
Awesome video! I went to school with these guys when they were at Friends. Thanks for posting :)
Beautiful
I’m sure you’ve listened to “Heaven is Waiting” by Rich Mullins. It was on Mitch McVicker’s “Canticle of the Plains.” ❤️ that song.

My favorite state for sure. Such beautiful country. I fondly remember walking the mesas, searching for yuca. A beautiful time in my life.
I recently left NM after some time there. I made a video with this song - th-cam.com/video/NFQNuDC_Z0Y/w-d-xo.html
I have lived in New Mexico all my life, thank you for this beautiful song of our beautiful State 😊
