I did this and now my phone shut down and is dead. The battery was fully charged. I put it back on the charger and zilch. I have zero access to anything. It is a Note 4. It was working fine until I rooted it. Now nothing. Any suggestions? This is ridiculous!

By only concern is if you root a phone, some banks online apps will not work. You could also render the guarantee void. Nice to know it would restore some files without rooting!

That's rightfully mentioned. In defence of all serious apps like banking and or pay online apps like eg. paypal etc they would if thinking of the security of the user rooted or not the rooted user has the access to alter the system files and copy and or paste bits files and or items into the directories a none full access user wouldn't be able to play with, unfortunately the quote on quote bad guys looking for access to abuse people's devices to gain or access hidden areas to impregnate those devices to gain money from abusing and even infiltrating or hacking them to provide them the means to abuse the accounts or build a profile of the account holder to ultimately gain money by hacking them is so out of control, that the majority of banking or money exchange apps choose to deny rooted users access to use them, you can't blame them, there's just risk at every turn with banking and digital money exchange if it weren't for abusers hacking to get rich the internet of things would be so much more efficient and friendly. Denying root access makes sense if money is involved i'm no hacker but can see the logik in denying rooted users access to bank apps and money transfer apps
