I recently saw a video of Chinese manufacturers explaining what the cost is making down jackets and said the average for export is $15 to $ 20 USD per jacket.
The Mythic Ultra has the TILT reflective technology which significantly increases heat retention. The face and lining fabric is very soft which makes for great experience. The hydrophobic down and DWR coating on these jackets makes them more resistant to the elements.
Was planning to get either Neutrino Pro or Electron Pro. Ended up getting Fjällräven Expedition Down Lite Jacket after your review on that. It is the best IMO in every way. Thanks for the review.
There's a couple of other RAB down jackets worth a mention, I'm not sure if either of these are available outside of the UK and Europe though. The Batura has a 450g fill weight and is fully waterproof, that one is more of a technical parka. There's also the Expedition 8000, which as the name suggests is the most extreme jacket in the RAB range. I actually have one for the coldest depths of winter and with a 526g fill weight (850 fill power) and box wall baffles you'd certainly notice a difference when comparing it to the Fjallraven Expedition Lite, It's so thick and puffy that it honestly makes the Canada Goose Expedition look and feel like a rain coat! Being bright yellow with a reflective 'EXPEDITION 8000' logo on the arm it's a bit of a conversation starter too. I also have the Mythic Ultra in that same orange. It feels premium, it's reasonably stylish and is amazingly warm for how light it is, but if it wasn't on sale I would have probably chosen either the Valandre Troll or Feathered Friends Volant instead.
Hi Will, great video. Just had a question - if you don't mind. I currently live in Chicago and right now I am in the search for a nice Parka. Right now I am just running a fleece/down jacket combo. The North face Flare 2 jacket, with either the Denali Zip up, Fjallraven Zip up fleece or just a normal 1/4 zip to be exact. This keeps me warm up until 35F. I am looking for something that I can wear once It gets a bit colder. Some of the options are: 1. Marmot Fordham Jacket 2. Arcteryx Therme 3. Canada Goose Wyndham. Right now, in terms of looks I love the Wyndham and Therme. Just not sure which one to get. I work in cirporate and I am planning on wearing it casually and to work. I Appreciate any help!
Any of those 3 will do the trick. Depends how much you want to spend. I recommend seeing if you can get the Wyndham used on the Canada pre loved site, if it’s within your budget. However if you’re on a budget and don’t have the money, go with the North face. It’ll keep you plenty warm with a fleece under.
@@WillFaulkner lots of 40% off sales on the goose's just now. I wouldn't recommend buying them secondhand myself unless you really trust the seller and get the tags, receipts or a very good price etc as 1/1 fakes are super common and the warranty is the only thing justifying the $2-500 extra price tag Vs similar items that are better in many aspects apart from name.

I use the Positron Pro and I can attest to its warmth at -15°F being completely static. Great review!
Awesome, it’s a great jacket

Love that you made this
Yea It was nice to try a bunch of them out.

Awesome choice !
I'm considering the Rab Positron Pro for belaying purposes, but it might be redundant since I already have the Tindur down parka. Great video!
How packable is the tindur?
@ Not packable at all!
What are your measurements? Just trying to gage sizing and what size of the mythic ultra would fit myself
6’1 185lb
I got my rab electron pro on sale for £150 - $190!
Nice, great deal

Yea the expedition 8000 is an absolute beast
I really like the Valandre Immelman. Seems like the warmest 350 grams of down jacket out there
Can you do a video about TNF Summit Pumori Parka?
Wow that looks like a beast. I might check it out soon. Planning on doing a few tnf reviews
The poseytron. LOL.
I'm guess that for a jacket to be warm at -15 celcius while static it has to have box baffles? That limits the search quite a bit

@@WillFaulknerwhat size were u wearing
Never mind. You just said it😂 guess I should've watched the whole video first
Loll no worries
For a simikar weight i think the Valandre immelman blows away the rab positron jacket with 350 grams of down and a super high quality baffle system
