I still think this game is awesome. Replayed it again recently and I had a blast. Marine campaign has that cool club mission. The fight with the Queen and the Final boss with the Weyland android. Then you got the Alien campaign which you finish by creating a Predalien and turning into the Queen after the Marine kills the queen in his campaign. Finally the Predator campaign which is my favorite and where you kill the same predalien that you created in the Alien campaign. I love that all the campaigns tie together in different ways. Overall it's amazing game for me.
This is exactly what I figured. That the reviewer would be bored bc its a simple FPS w/ simple short campaigns but the AVP fans would love it bc its cool AF lurking around as an alien and obliterating everything as a Pred. surprisingly the multiplayer isnt dead i checked steam charts and it averages 300 players at a time also i agree with most of the criticism but i just love th alien campaign its mindless fun sure but sill fun nonetheless also your channel is severely underrated your funny asf

So, I kinda agree but also disagree with you. I agree that the campaigns are very short and repetitive. That's one of the biggest flaws of the game. Sniper rifle and combo stick are ridiculously overpowered, I agree. Although the combo stick is even more game-breaking than the sniper rifle. Yes, you are right that the campaigns are pretty boring, repetitive and just too short. BUT - I still really enjoy them. In fact, I love the Alien one because it's just so fun to jump from ceiling to wall and back to the ceiling while tearing a marine's head off with my bare hands. Yes, it's fun. I mean, it's Rebellion, their games are known for excessive brutality, that's why you buy them, right? And the fact that you beat the Elite Predator so easily... Well, just switch to Hard or Nightmare. Dunno which difficulty you played on there, but boy, the game gets a lot harder on Hard or even Nightmare where checkpoints don't exist. As a Xenomorph you die VERY quickly, and as a Marine the boss fight agains Weyland is a fucking nightmare because he just two-shots you. So, overall I agree with you criticism, but still I really enjoy this game.

Listen. You can enjoy if someone farts right in your face if that's your kink. But that doesn't make it good. The Campaign doesn't have a story. You just kill stuff and it is bad. Simply, simply bad. I would give AvP a simple 4/10. Because as fun as it was, the only good things about it are the visuals, the Soundeffects and the wonderfully animated and designed Aliens. Hot damn do I love these Aliens.

I liked playing the avp game but I do agree that the game is short but only on easy mode. Nightmare difficulty is the hardest especially on the marine campaign but that depends on if you know how to beat it on that difficulty. Multiplayer is pretty much empty as most rather play in friendly match than ranked and the only way to play with others is to ask online. The achievements/trophies are a pain with one in particular, the six pack so unless you got a lot of friends that play avp for fun, there's no way you'll get that trophy. Still it may not be a masterpiece but it was fun except on multiplayer the predator is overpowered as its an instant win for them and the marines is an instant lose against both sides.
everythings cool.... but i hate the mission fighting the elite predator in the alien campaign. you sped the ENTIRE FUCKING CAMPAIGN doing stealth and puzzles, than then the last big hurdle is a BOSS FIGHT with a system that is hardly even used in its campaign, so unless you played predator first youd have no fucking clue what to do. also it takes 2 fucking hits to die, and if you dont do the keys at the exact fucking time the promp says to you get hit. and on top of all that the animations take so fucking long im pretty sure my hair turned grey.
The game had its flaws, but it's still not dead. It's STILL to this day a enjoyable experience. So, it'd probably be a wise decision if any company finally started working on a new AvP game with extended campaigns, balanced weapons, original stories and even better multiplayer.
I personally feel you were a bit harsh imo. I give the game like a 7/10 to a 7.5 out of 10. It isn’t a great game, it’s not exceptional or anything. It’s good. It’s fun. It’s satisfying. I would say the game’s main objective was to make you feel like you were in a proper AVP movie where you’re a colonial marine/Predator/Xenomorph. And it accomplished that objective. The colonial marine campaign had their iconic weapons and imo was a tad scary and tense at times when you’re alone and really gotta watch your ammo and surroundings. It could be Erie and I liked that. The alien campaign was fun given you were so fast and could climb any surface and used vents and all. Attacking from the shadows or overwhelming your foes with multiple fast attacks. And was super gorey lol. And the predator campaign where you get to be a stealthy tank. You get all those cool as weapons that are so fun to use lol. And more gore lol. Each campaign makes you feel like each race. The graphics have aged well imo and they did a great job in designing the maps and environments to make it feel lore accurate. And of course it all sounds amazing! The multiplayer was rather fun too and the survival mode! Again, it’s not perfect or great. While the overall campaign length is average, each one is short. Some of the weapons could break the game a tad bit lol. And while not awful, sometimes the alien AI was meh, albeit better than ACMs lol. So it’s a good game imo!

This was my debut to both Alien and Predator, so it has a special place in my heart despite its problems. Contrary to what you said, IMO, AvP 2010 doesn't suck, because what's there, I genuinely enjoy. The issue is, to quote some review I saw on Steam (not for this game), this game is like the best tasting Pringle ever, with perfect flavor and texture, but there's only one in the can. The campaigns (especially the Alien campaign) are pretty brief, you revisit levels several times, and the multiplayer, when it was at its prime (player count-wise) had some major flaws (namely how OP the Predators were, and how Aliens were severely underpowered - unlike in the campaign, they can't heal with headbites, and they have no ranged attacks at all). _However_, the actual gameplay is really fun (despite a few minor issues like a lack of variety in Marine weapons, no ranged attacks as the Alien, and barely any character customization), the art style is neat (and the graphics actually hold up pretty well, even in 2023. Granted, Alien: Isolation still blows it out of the water graphics-wise, but it still looks great, and it certainly looks better than Aliens: Colonial Marines), and the lore of the game is quite respectful to both Alien and Predator (despite being a crossover in its own continuity). I also found myself really interested in and kind of attached to the main characters of this, especially the Rookie, Tequila, and Katya, and I really want to know how their story ends (which I can't say about any of the previous AvP games I've played). I would give this game probably a 7/10 (hold your IGN jokes) - it's above average at worst and good (not great) at best. Its main problem is just the _lack_ of content, not the _quality_ of the content that's there.

The problem with this game, I remember, was level design. The Alien campaign failed to utilize the verticality. The predator campaign was better but had the feeling of moving in corridors from one open combat area to the next. The marine one, like previous games, had the “backpedal while firing” problem. The gameplay was great though.

It's a good, solid simple fps featuring the Predator, Aliens and Marines stuck in the middle with the Weyland Yutani corporation being involved for good measure. Also has some nice world building and lore to it.
i guess if we are being brutally honest the game is really short, and there really isn't a story to keep up with, but yet again this is 2010. I think if you got a chance to play the multiplayer before the game died you'd change your mind as it was pretty fun. Maybe a remastered version of this game would be a fire game, as the concept of being able to play as any side is crazy.

I just bought it for pc (used to have it for my PS3) and it is every bit as good as I remember it being and it still holds up by todays standards. Atleast I think so
You're playing on a diffulty less than nightmare. Not gonna be 90 minutes on nightmare, more like 3 hours. This game play isn't on nightmare mode, 2:37 Would've done more damage if it was. You would've died at 2:55. That acid spit at 9:26 also would've done more damage. And I remember facehuggers and acid blood were the actual problems of that difficulty and it wasn't mentioned. Multiplayer games surprisingly still do happen, albeit rarely, but they're enthralling. Multuplayer was the core of the game. I wish more people played this game, I don't feel the hate is deserved, in fact I feel it'scriminally underrated. If you're a fan of the franchise this game is a must. I just wish they made it f2p so it can be resurrected, it holds up well imo
I was having a decent time with marine campaign until the end when it became more about fighting robots then fighting aliens and also only having 1 predator fight in the game was such a waste the game wasn't awful but could have easily been better with a few changes
If only there are custom campaign mods... or bots on multiplayer, this game will be the best. but nope, just linear single player campaigns.... that's too bad
As a big fan of Both Alien ajd Predator. Id say the game is worth the 3 bucks I spent on it lol. I also think how short 'n simple it is makes it kinda replayable. No need to dedicate a weekend to a multi-day long game to trudge through. Just boot up the game, pick a species, pick a level, and kill shit 'till you get bored. Worth the 3 dollars
This is exactly why I want Rebellion / SEGA to remake this now. Make the campaigns around 8-10 hrs long each (total: 24 - 30 hrs of gameplay) Rebalance all of the weapons (I'm looking at you pulse rifle because you hit like a pool noodle) I feel like this game would do well if they build onto what they know works and what doesn't with modern gaming and learn from the mistakes here. I love this game (even if people say its bad) as I had around 700+ hrs on my PS3 playing this back in 2010-2014 This game officially died in 2016 (imo) thanks to its growing obscurity, They should remake it and maybe we can actually get good AVP content for once, as there hasent been a " GOOD " AVP game for around 10 years now and the only "good" Game in these franchises that have come out is Alien Isolation. I also wont lie and kid myself, I abused the absolute hell out of the M42C Scoped Rifle and the W-Y ZX-76 Shotgun anytime I got the chance, they are practically *UNFAIR* in PVP
My dream AVP game would be like the campaign in transformers war for cyberton, with 3 player co-op. Imagine being a predator hunting party with your friends.
Yeah I was kind of Blown Away that this game didn't do very well back when it came out cuz I was like what not only is when it's maxed out its given its Run for the money on some of the top looking games in 2010 I was comparing this maxed out the Battlefield 3 and I was very impressed with this game and in all honesty going back these Graphics hold it better than the Vaseline glucose always wet looking Battlefield 3 graphics especially Battlefield 4 this is a 14 year old game and even on computer with all the settings on lowest setting we've just textures all the way up it's still looks better than games that are newer than it maybe it's the aesthetic and art style but for me this was just like the Marine campaign was another version of Doom 3 but with Aliens versus Predator
I played this game back then and played it recently on each campaign on hard this game is still fun it’s more of a preference and he doesn’t have that preference plus if u saying it’s too easy change the difficulty the bosses and enemies are aggressive on a harder mode and wold definitely will one tap u same with the other bosses I got experience and they was making the hardest difficulty annoying regular enemies would dominate too it’s just what u play on easy or normal AINT helping
Fun fact: This game is literally £3.79 on xbox 360. Also for someone like me who cannot afford an xbox one or ps4 and just lives with the xbox 360 I already have I'd say avp is good, Sure the animations and shit aren't the best but its better than it being fucking pixels, Too bad most of my friends online have been sent to the fucking shadow realm of gaming and now have an xbox one or a ps4. 💀

only just played it..... in Jan 2023.........gotta say..I loved it...... with todays tech it looked fab..... and played at full rez with everything up full......didnt bother with the Alien ....was too confusing..the orientation...but other two were really good......

this game was boring and not scary and as much a trash as it could be, marine Andrew in AvP2 talks and adds fun to the game, was the best and scary. but in 17 giga bytes of avp 2010, i found the game finally revealed that a black marine was the one i played at the end and was on for 3 seconds, he doesnt talk. i think the game makers were ashamed of him. try to play 2 Giga byte Unreal 2 - Awakening, the main black guy named Dalton talks much and he was witty and fun and loyal to his friends, a true game hero.

I love the predator campaign, but yeah the whole game is medium at best.
Still better than any other of these we’ve had and the online was crazy
Everything else was great too and some nice tense moments as well as the further world building and lore

i guess if we are being brutally honest the game is really short, and there really isn't a story to keep up with, but yet again this is 2010. I think if you got a chance to play the multiplayer before the game died you'd change your mind as it was pretty fun. Maybe a remastered version of this game would be a fire game, as the concept of being able to play as any side is crazy.

@@ch0ccyMalk Hi! I can’t remember exactly, but I think for the footage I played on normal. However I have beaten all 3 campaigns on nightmare to get 100% on achievements, which I never got cuz of the achievement that requires you to play with 6 friends.

Campaign is not gonna be intense cause you played it on easy. Play it on hardest difficulty and this game is better with controller.

You're playing on a diffulty less than nightmare. Not gonna be 90 minutes on nightmare, more like 3 hours. This game play isn't on nightmare mode, 2:37 Would've done more damage if it was. You would've died at 2:55. That acid spit at 9:26 also would've done more damage. And I remember facehuggers and acid blood were the actual problems of that difficulty and it wasn't mentioned. Multiplayer games surprisingly still do happen, albeit rarely, but they're enthralling. Multuplayer was the core of the game. I wish more people played this game, I don't feel the hate is deserved, in fact I feel it'scriminally underrated. If you're a fan of the franchise this game is a must. I just wish they made it f2p so it can be resurrected, it holds up well imo

I was having a decent time with marine campaign until the end when it became more about fighting robots then fighting aliens and also only having 1 predator fight in the game was such a waste the game wasn't awful but could have easily been better with a few changes

As a big fan of Both Alien ajd Predator. Id say the game is worth the 3 bucks I spent on it lol. I also think how short 'n simple it is makes it kinda replayable. No need to dedicate a weekend to a multi-day long game to trudge through. Just boot up the game, pick a species, pick a level, and kill shit 'till you get bored.

This is exactly why I want Rebellion / SEGA to remake this now.
Make the campaigns around 8-10 hrs long each (total: 24 - 30 hrs of gameplay)
Rebalance all of the weapons (I'm looking at you pulse rifle because you hit like a pool noodle)
I feel like this game would do well if they build onto what they know works and what doesn't with modern gaming and learn from the mistakes here. I love this game (even if people say its bad) as I had around 700+ hrs on my PS3 playing this back in 2010-2014
This game officially died in 2016 (imo) thanks to its growing obscurity, They should remake it and maybe we can actually get good AVP content for once, as there hasent been a " GOOD " AVP game for around 10 years now and the only "good" Game in these franchises that have come out is Alien Isolation.
I also wont lie and kid myself, I abused the absolute hell out of the M42C Scoped Rifle and the W-Y ZX-76 Shotgun anytime I got the chance, they are practically *UNFAIR* in PVP
My dream AVP game would be like the campaign in transformers war for cyberton, with 3 player co-op. Imagine being a predator hunting party with your friends.
Yeah I was kind of Blown Away that this game didn't do very well back when it came out cuz I was like what not only is when it's maxed out its given its Run for the money on some of the top looking games in 2010 I was comparing this maxed out the Battlefield 3 and I was very impressed with this game and in all honesty going back these Graphics hold it better than the Vaseline glucose always wet looking Battlefield 3 graphics especially Battlefield 4 this is a 14 year old game and even on computer with all the settings on lowest setting we've just textures all the way up it's still looks better than games that are newer than it maybe it's the aesthetic and art style but for me this was just like the Marine campaign was another version of Doom 3 but with Aliens versus Predator
I played this game back then and played it recently on each campaign on hard this game is still fun it’s more of a preference and he doesn’t have that preference plus if u saying it’s too easy change the difficulty the bosses and enemies are aggressive on a harder mode and wold definitely will one tap u same with the other bosses I got experience and they was making the hardest difficulty annoying regular enemies would dominate too it’s just what u play on easy or normal AINT helping
Fun fact: This game is literally £3.79 on xbox 360.
Also for someone like me who cannot afford an xbox one or ps4 and just lives with the xbox 360 I already have I'd say avp is good, Sure the animations and shit aren't the best but its better than it being fucking pixels, Too bad most of my friends online have been sent to the fucking shadow realm of gaming and now have an xbox one or a ps4. 💀

I don’t wanna be that guy but it seems to me you played the game on the easiest difficulty 😂…all the other criticisms are still fair, but on harder difficulty there’s no way your steam rolling bosses like that, and you have to plan encounters a little more strategically because your health will get decimated! Still subbed though!
this game was boring and not scary and as much a trash as it could be, marine Andrew in AvP2 talks and adds fun to the game, was the best and scary. but in 17 giga bytes of avp 2010, i found the game finally revealed that a black marine was the one i played at the end and was on for 3 seconds, he doesnt talk. i think the game makers were ashamed of him. try to play 2 Giga byte Unreal 2 - Awakening, the main black guy named Dalton talks much and he was witty and fun and loyal to his friends, a true game hero.

FINALLY, SOMEONE ELSE SAID IT! The game is TRASH. Total garbage. Every people I met who likes this game alway share the same profile: they like it because it's the only game they know about where you could play as an Alien or a Predator. And when you want to show them Alien vs Predator 2, the best AvP FPS of all times... They just rant about the ugly graphics and totally ignore the amazing gameplay and story. There were so many weapons, classes, locations! The multiplayer ALONE let you play as a Facehugger, a Praetorian, a Predalien, a QUEEN!
