Had a great time playing this with you! Thanks for having me. Was also a childhood game of mine, so the nostalgia of playing it again was crazy
Same. 90's kid, played this on PS3.
And I will never forget how few matches I actually got in.
It's one of the earliest examples of why things like Gamergate happened because reviewers at the time DOGPILED IT WITH NEGATIVITY.
"The campaigns are short!" they all screamed while completely ignoring the multiplayer. People, at the time, took it as a sign that the game was genuinely bad and passed it up. Within a month, I wasn't able to find any matches in what had easily been one of the most fun multiplayers I had played at the time.
I still go back to play as the Alien.
The perdatorian alien skin was my favorite that scream was worth it alone
It was awesome , though the multiplayer version never hit europe , so we only had the single player campaign , which I really liked , good story good atmosphere
@@Impalingthorn While i liked the game, a lot of the negativity behind the game comes from the fact that it was a bit of a letdown compared to AVP2. AVP2 was so good and in many ways this one felt inferior.
The Predator is literally an ambush hunter. It is the best class because you aren't supposed to go one-on-one with humans or aliens (unless you're good at blocking), you're meant to hunt them using your items and cloaking appropriately. Ideally by using the leap to get above them so you can then jump down and send them into the stunned state, then execute them. Otherwise yeah, the aliens and marines will shred you in larger groups.
Yeah but because there is 0 tutorial in the game (unless Htwo forgot to show it), new players would always fight 1 to 1, and marines & aliens can just camp the item and look around constantly with their crystal clear PC.
@@michaeljonathan9715 there was a tutorial for all 3, predator was by far the best class if you knew how to play properly
@@michaeljonathan9715 In the main storylines for each character there’s a tutorial, these tutorials are pretty good and makes sure you understand what you’re doing.
From what I felt, the Predator was ungodly broken in the early game where most ranged weapons one shot either class. Your take on the predator i think is why no one plays it anymore. They try to play it like it's cod but you need to adapt your playstyle for each class to optimally play the game like in tf2 but limited to 3 DRASTICALLY different experiences. I used to MURDER as predator on console but havent played since servers shut down on 360.
@@case_in_point Nothings more fun then getting 1 shot by the damn Spear and plasma caster'd to death when you so as much counter them in melee once and then getting wee woo saucered in corridors by nonstop disc bounce cause they know you cant get them as an Alien or want to kill you for having the only hard counter as human - the scoped rifle
This game is my childhood, and it's the MOST underrated game I know. I don't know why nobody plays it now, it's so good.
Yeah, I know it's so great, if we got a remaster/remake of it that would be amazing, but I doubt that would happen ;(
Dude, same, it's so fucking good.
This is the remake.@@TheMultiversalDip
@@BenisDD Then let us hope for another!
I hated that one, Predetor 2 was my favourite
the three single player campaigns were really good imo. each of them felt very different from one another. Predator was like playing a stealth sniper game, Xenomorphs was like playing an ambush hunting puzzle game, and Marines felt like a straight up horror game.
The Alien campaign was so much fun. Lurking in shadows, stalking marines, snatching them up from the bloody ceiling, fleeing in terror when you hear them turn the pulse rifles on you. Good times.
With how far video game graphics have come these days I'm suprised the creators didn't think of remastering it.
They'd never get Alien to work well probably
Alien versus predator 2010 from this vide is actually a remaster of game from 1999...
Nope its a sequal@@user-mc5oh2pl7t
@@user-mc5oh2pl7tobjectively wrong
Because they don't own the rights anymore
A note on Infestation: The marines only have a few healing stims, so you CAN wear them down over time.
I have fond memories of the MP for the old Aliens vs. Predator from _1999,_ which also comes with three SP campains (one for each faction) that are still incredibly fun. Oh, and this game even supported Shutter glasses (which were some early form of VR back then). A friend of mine had a pair of those and the results were actually quite impressive.
I’m so glad someone else mentioned the 1999 one. I have fond memories of that game.
This game was good but the 2010 remake was iconic imo
back when i used to play on 360 the predator was actually considered very strong. I think this has a lot to do with the lobbies because with a full loby of randoms not coordinating the preds could easily jump everyone for easy kills as they had the means to gang up on both marines and aliens easily and like you said the playing conditions made it harder to see them and aim accurately. Mines were especially hard to spot back then too because of how dark the game is on a tv. The throwing spear is also insanely good once you get used to it, like downright broken good. But on pc the marines definitely reign supreme.
I once loaded into a match and instantly died every spawn because a pred player memorized and mined all of them. Definitely most infuriating moments of my life.
Yeah, I actually rarely ever played the Marine class, even the Marine campaign, just because back then it was such a piece of trash for me to control and so I never got into learning how to use it, the alien was perfect for sneaking up and getting uber satisfying takedowns with, the predator felt amazing when you got a kill off imo.
It's such a shame that we won't be getting a sequel based on how things currently are, I was always wanting to continue the stories of Rookie, Specimen 6 and Dark, but alas that's just a dream.
It’s still the most OP class
I always felt like what map u where on played a big part aswell really seemed like certain maps favoured one faction or another
The worst part of this game when it was out was how the developers obviously had a massive bias toward preds
Oh damn, I remember this game. I also remember exploiting the hell out of the game's dynamig lighting system by destroying lightbulbs, the fact that people rarely look _up,_ and the fact they tend to not notice non-moving alien clinging to the ceiling right above the entrance in a dark room.
I remember an Infestation match in Refinery where three marines scooted around beneath me in a tight corridor for about a minute before they split up a little too far and I was able to stealth kill the straggler. It's always a laugh.
@@unfortunatelythis4183 I played a match of infestation on temple and during the beginning my buddy and I got jumping (queue marine *hup*) and eventually the whole squad was at it, the alien burst through a corridor and OP'd one of our guys then disappeared. We all stared at the body for a minute then began *hup* ing again. Core memory
literally the first lesson they teach you in the alien story to lol
On map with the closing doors and tight hallways, I ran past an alien crouched in the corner of a hallway, thought I saw something weird and looked back, before getting brutally jump scared and killed.
I still think of that moment from time to time, was so crazy!
Can't thank you enough to bringing this gem recognition!! I remember as a kid I was mesmorized by this game I would always come home and watch videos about it especially the alien campaign.
I played Aliens vs Predator throughout my childhood, at 27 yrs old still do
One other highly asymmetric game I am surprised you did not mention is Natural Selection 2. It is one of those "dead" games which has 50 dedicated people playing it constantly. There are noob lobbies, but veterans will be tough to beat. There are 2 factions, where Kharaa (Aliens) are all about movement mechanics, agility and mostly melee and Marines, which are more about ranged combat, pushing as a team and covering each other. It also has a unique RTS component where the commander of each team is playing RTS with resource gathering and upgrades to the bases and solders/life forms, while telling the team where to focus their attention, as well as supporting them.
It’s also developed by the same people as Subnautica and takes place in the same universe
Its a great game that I can't recommend playing. The remaining community is god awful and elitist, and, does not welcome new players in the slightest.
The game will eventually die with no new players coming into the game, and, it'll be the fault of that community.
Damn man i was looking for the name of that game i had the memory of it on the back of my head. I never played it but i remember watching gameplays about it years ago the nostalgia.
Ah i remember play it in 2019. Good times. I buy it because video from TH-cam
I watched a ton of tournament matches of this game on yt, bcuz it was just super fun. Sadly never got to play an actual match but I too heard that there are only super experienced players left, I guess thats to be expected from a multiplayer game this old. I wish they’d given Natural Selection 2 the TF2 treatment and made it free, maybe that would help. Also Natural Selection 3 would be super hype, I wouldn’t expect an „aliens vs marines” game do well in 2024 but here it is - Helldivers 2
The predators heavy attack is op and makes him the best species in the game, light attacks from the alien and marine cant stun him, and he is fast asf you just have to learn the movement tech and if you learn to use his weapons correctly hes unstoppable
“Movement tech” really just means glitches and exploits
@@ExpertContrarian L take
Agreed @@Dipping_Eggs
It used to be, but when I played the MP last year, the Alien's tail heavy attack seems to have more range than it did to at launch and they also seem to have nerfed the Predator's leap attack range. I'd say the Aliens have the slight edge in melee, but Predators are still the more OP class overall it's adept at everything.
Yeah, Predator weapons/movement are so skill based, that once you master it, you rule the server. Or at least, used to anyways
I missed this game so much you brought back the scariest online experience of my life.
Playing as the Predator was by far my favourite experience of the game, both in singleplayer and in multiplayer. You have to be so calculated, methodical and patient, you really feel like the Jungle Hunter from Predator (1987). And I don't know if you knew while playing, but you can walk by holding down the left shift key, which makes you invisible on the marines' motion tracker. Being invisible on their motion tracker leaves them almost completely blind, since the Aliens are naturally hard to see in the dark, and the Predators are cloaked. Running and jumping also disrupts the cloaking in a few spots on the predator, slowly walking obviously does not, so the Predator can become completely invisible as well, especially from long range.
The speed of my hand on the mouse to pre-order a new Aliens vs. Predator game..."I doubt you could even imagine it".
One thing to add as well for the Infection game mode, if you knew what you were doing as an Alien, a room filled with Marines is more like dinner plate then a danger, if you are crawling on the wall the Alien's heavy attack becomes a quick tail stab, this stab two shots marines and the first hit stuns them. I've run into hallways filled with marines and ended up killing about half of them this way. Back on Xbox me and friends just had a group of people that played all the time, loved it so dearly.
One of my favourite memories of this game was being one of two marines remaining, me and this guy just backing down a corridor trying to make it. Him falling, me picking up the smartgun, and just backed into a corner firing non-stop. Barely, barely made it. Amazing times
Yeah they removed the tail stunning on PC, my friends and I play it occasionally and it baffled me that they removed the stun.

Man I'm so jealous of you. I was super excited when I bought this from the Xbox store so I can play it on my series x and just like you said there are no people playing this on multi-player. I loved playing this back when I was in college, so fun. If you ever get a chance, try to play Alien VS Predator (2000) with your friends, that one was so much fun as well!
I played when this game was bigger back in the day. It can be an absolute riot especially with uneven teams to help ballance, like 4 marines on 10 aliens.
You are also still new and need to keep that in mind, the alien's "roar" pops a tons of marks on the marines' radar for a few seconds, you can also smash lights to help the sneaking, and eait until a pred hits them for the extra distraction.
The pred is the best class because of the invis being able to instantly kill many unsuspecting enemies at range. I have plenty more of advice but this is a good start
AVP is most active on weekends, you can find atleast a couple of full lobbies there

I played throughout its initial release and man, it was some of the best MP experiences I've ever had. TDM was pure chaos but the best kind of chaos. The game really shines in Infestation mode. Being the last marine alive while all your former battle buddies try to kill you was way more intense than any other games equivalent.
Taking into account the fact that it's a 14 year old game and was designed for console helps explain a lot. But to add on to what you said, I think we should also consider the average skill level of players at the time as well. While there has always been an exception for pros and the occasional insane online players, for the most part people were no where near as good at video games back then as we are now so I can see why the marine feels overpowered. I remember the predator not being horrible back when I played avp and there was definitely a learning curve with the kit. The alien was always my favorite though
yea playing with professional fps players as humans seems like a bad idea
Htwo is a certified Game Reviver at this point. Warfork is alive and well 6 months after the video, I can never thank you enough for that
wonder if the same will happen to this game, would be cool and also would show that a game like this would be played if handled right, Alien may need to be reworked for accessibility/motion sickness reasons but aside from that this game would be pretty good to see getting a remaster
In aliens colonial marines they made the xenomorphs third person it helped with the motion sickness and gameplay
I remember loving the multiplayer for this game. You can time a melee strike with the humans that knocks back and stuns enemies from the other team, and it always surprised the hell out of them. Super fun.
Infestation on the pyramid map was crazy fun with friends. The map constantly changing and separating us from everyone while aliens charged forward was some of the most fun I've had.
I was so good at this game back in the day 😅 here’s some tips for y’all newbies that weren’t covered:
-The Alien has a hidden heavy attack that uses its tail. It’s a 2 hit kill, but has the speed of a light attack. To use it, tap the heavy attack button while on a wall or when your target is just outside melee range.
-The Predator’s smart disc can be guided with the laser. You can use this to send it into an enclosed room from a distance and let it bounce around the room.
-The Marine’s sniper rifle highlights enemies through the scope. If you have a team with you, use it to spot enemies and tell them to shoot where you’re shooting.
-Avoid insta-kills since they leave you wide open.
that is AVP2 by monolith, different game
Bet I’d beat you

No, it is also in this game. I mainly play as Xenomorph in multiplayer for that very tail attack.
ive wanted this game for so long for the campaigns man, ive got so much nostalgia from watching playthroughs of all 3 campaigns on youtube as well

I have the game and go back to it occasionally. Unfortunately, only the Marine campaign is really good. The other two campaigns aren't really all that fun. You can tell the devs put most of their time and effort into the marine campaign.
this was one of my favourite games ever, it's so much fun playing as an alien, jumping around and do alien stuff
your videos are a must-watch for their clarity and depth! ️
Ah the memories
This was my first multiplayer game.
A few tips
As a marine your only optiont to "hide" is to turn off your flashlight. Its really easy to spot for predators and whitout it you can suprise them around corners.
Also learning when to block is incredably powerfull in 1v1 s
Aliens NEED to coordinate
You can press R i think to do a little HÆÆÆRGH which can be used a lure or a sugnal for teamates.
For the predator i dont have much to say
Think like a hunter
Pick off survivers of other conflicts
Stun from afar and get in for the kill

I remember playing Aliens VS Predator, I sucked at the game but I was like 8 years old. I was so salty I would spam so many hate messages to whoever killed me, and even broke a head-set lol
the three way teams thing reminds me of this very short lived game I played on the ps4 called "Kill Strain", basically you'd fight against another marine team, and players could be converted to the strain / infected team, so it lead to very interesting combat dynamics where the strain could only win by making the other teams forget about them and convert the cracked players on both sides
Omg yes!! I loved this game as a kid. The Xenomorph was my main
Xenomorph main gang 🤝🤝🤝
that seananners clip was just about the funniest thing kid me ever saw. I love that man
Oh bro, I absolutely LOVED the campaign for this game! I was 6 years old when this came out, but I distincly remember replaying the campaigns over and over alongside my other favourite games. So glad this one's getting the recognition it deserves! I'm just amazed at the fact that I never realized it had multiplayer.
congrats on finding a game I've genuinely never heard of. and it actually looks amazing too! how did this not get more hype on release?
its super old it was hyped
It was hyped, times change
I have now heard of the game, now you can't say that i have never heard of it
Natural selection 2 was a good asymmetrical, a RTS and FPS hybrid that had commanders and players having to work together while battling a team that operated totally different
I played this when it came out. The spear can be tricky to get at first, but back in the day when this game was prime you adjust and learn how to lead the spear. The predator is indeed an ambush hunter, you have a netgun that downs humans unable to let them shoot, just wait for the shoulder cannon to lock on so it from far. It insta kills. As does the spear you can also melee with the spear has a little more range than your claws. The disc blade is for aliens. Minces them and hard for them to dodge with the bounce. As for Aliens on the Marines. If you don't move you don't show up on there motion sensor and there's lots of vents and floor dips etc that you can sneak in to get around on people even with their motion sensor.
I’ll never forget that one year for New Year’s Eve i didn’t have any plans and felt like a loser, so I stayed up all night playing AvP on my 360 back while it was still jumping. Sure enough, made friends with an entire online lobby of people and I will never forget that night because it was some of the most fun I ever had. Now that you almost can’t find a lobby, I have no regrets
YES SOMEONE IS TALKING ABOUT THIS I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED THIS GAME!!!!!!!!
the amount of times I've heard of or seen a TH-cam title along the lines of "The Best Dead Game You've Never Heard Of" is crazy
You talking about this game reminded me of Aliens: Colonial Marines which was a fun game to play when it had some players in both campaign and multiplayer.
All three story modes are amazing and they even cross over each other. The multiplayer was so much fun. The aliens and predator have insane kill animations that ive never seen topped to this day. Using the flares as the marines to flush out the aliens was always so cinematic as well. The marine mission where you fight through the alien infested holo-strip club is a true highlight. The club music on top of your flares and the flashing lights make the whole mission a fever dream.
I have to point out this asymetrical 3 team Aliens v Predator game was done 2 SEPARATE TIMES Before this one. From my own experience the gameplay is EXTREMELY similar to this one, including the OP Xenomorph and Gun toting Muhreenes. The older games can be grabbed on sale for mere pennies.
not avp 2 I think. Thats abandonware. You can download it for free but not sure if any servers are still running it.
AVP 1 & 2 are much faster and don't have the grapples that 2010 does, they feel very different. 2010 is much slower and feels heavier, which I personally prefered but you can see why there was still an active AVP 2 community at the time. The games were different enough to put some people off.
@@0lionheartI prefer AvP 2 since the game had classes for each faction and more variety (you could play as facehuggers and the queen). In AvP 2010, every marine, alien and predator had the same weapons. I also enjoyed the faster gameplay and you didn’t get “locked” in melee combat when attacking with the alien or predator
One "somewhat" asymemtrical multiplayer game i can remember is SCP Secret Laboratory, though it is better not to disturb the hornet nest, if you know what i mean.
i dont know what you mean
Thank you for brining back my childhood 💙
Playing this at a LAN-party back then was the coolest gaming experience ever... This game really had something special going on.
other asymmetrical multiplayer games with more than two teams that I can think of are Planetside 2 and most RTS games that have different factions/races
I wish the Fall of Cybertron multiplayer wasnt dead.

I even hosted a server/lobby one time and got them to coordinate some teamwork and team compositions.
I wish there was an asymmetrical Aliens game in the vein of this or Predator Hunting Grounds.
Hello. Drumanin here!
Ive play that game many years ago on PC. Near 2014 probably? It was ALREADY there hard dead. No local sessions and only 1-2 rooms in internet section (there in the game cheeky devided lobbies system which was kind confusing).
Gladly i could play some weeks and even recorded some maybe most popular lets plays in my region. I could get near 35 level or so even? It gave you cool skins. Funny, it was one of my most boomed series which pushed me further. So, you van watch how it was if you interested in gameplay and how it was with buddies.
Thats game has special place for me in my heart. It was my favorite AvP game. And i was really hyped about that universe. It was so fun to play like alien finally and so fast and agile! I cant look without laugh at DbD alien, whos sooooooo slow that he cant fast catch survivours or even jump on the walls. I cant take his dbd version seriously after this game gameplay.
I never understood why people so fast left that game and why it has no loyal playing community. Its pretty cheap, but also fun and no microtransactions. It has fun unique gameplay, some variety, cool atmosphere and also some amazing maps. Pyramid map still my FAVORITE unique multiplayer map in online games. Its SO simple, but so fun to play. Game deserved better honestly. With some tweaks and content it could be even greater!
Also there were two cheeky ways to play.
1 - you couod abuse stealth kills as alien with its speed. It was super cancerous.
2 - you could make a bug with human sniper rifle and get a legal wallhacks until reload, if i remember by breaking animations through scope and melee+block. It was cheaty, but trash funny xd
In general great game. Im so want to see next game after all that long years. I dont know why they have stop. Game didnt fail, it was good and still looks great! We need AvP4!
The older AVP2 had the same 3 way team deathmatch but was even more mental because it had the full alien lifecycle in one mode so you'd start as facehuggers and it was basically one shot one kill on any marine or predator you could sneak up on. Even cooler it would give you the unique Predalien if you grabbed a predator.
The earlier 1999 AVP was scarier in its 3 player deathmatch because the levels were all designed so most lights were breakable so aliens would run around on roofs breaking every light so marines would be forced into darkness before jumping them.
Something fun to do with the boomerang is since it follows your crosshairs you can shake your screen and it will go hella crazy it’s great for when another player is running from you.
AVP 2010 was a big part of my childhood. It was one of those games where i would dominate more then be dominated. There's more modes then just the 3 way battle between the 3 species. But i remember when server population started to really die out you get these modes and you have people on Aliens or Predator and nobody wanted to be Marines. I remember being forced to play as a Marine against 2 Aliens and Predator and i came out on top. I had more targets to kill, they didn't. I wish it was one of those multiplayer games that just suddenly peeks in popularity again. It was really a fun game to be played online.
One additional great Thing to mention about the Game is One of the Multiplayer Maps, being inside a Pyramid with continuesly Moving Chambers, one second u can be grouped up with all your Marine Buddys next Second a Wall comes down and u all alone with some Alien Sounds coming closes u've got no idea where they coming from
I love this game and its campaign it was super fun and im glad you made a video about it
Great video, one problem, I absolutely have not only heard of it, but I played it within the last couple years lol. Had a couple buddies join me, it was a fun time. I miss when the game was alive.
Aliens vs predator was so fun
i remember the demo had a community by itself on 360
it was so terrifying being a marine lmao
the pyramid map was hilarious how you could just randomly get separated from your friends an hear their gun go off followed by screams of terror
it was a real good representation of that franchise
This was my first online multiplayer experience when I was in high school. That was a great experience in my humble opinion.
I remember this game in elementary & middle school, I also remember hating playing marines because I was the one person in the lobby that didn't play COD. Getting spear kills with pred was just the most satisfying thing back then, corner peak killing with it was always a laugh especially after match and just hearing the resigned "really?" because you couldn't justify the anger from being cross mapped at the speed of dial-up.
I often played Predator in PvP and I used them as a sort of sniper class. I'd get the plasma cannon and then position myself invisible in an area with good vision, preferably against a wall to avoid ambushes from the stealthy aliens, and then snipe people with the plasma cannon which was actually surprisingly effective.
Btw you can also avoid the human's motion scanner by holding CTRL, you move slowly but you also do not show on their motion sensor.
AvP was a core game in my childhood, it's really nice to see someone looking at it for how good of a game it was!
You didn't talk about the amazing sound design in this game. Used to scare the hell out of my friends playing as a runner. Leaping from wall to wall with the aliens screech. Loved this game back in the day! Had a many LAN parties playing this game.
I did not expect to see Devil Daggers and the Hidden mentioned on here. Just got a fresh dose of nostalgia.
I can't even TELL YOU how much fun I had playing this game for hours on end after school when I was a kid. This game was my Call of Duty, it hit like nothing else did and felt so perfectly tied to the franchise in terms of how each class felt to play.
The tail attack on the xenomorph is very satisfying to use because of how powerful it feels
My literal childhood. It needs a remaster. I remember when the beta came out and could not wait for the full game to be released. My go to skins were Wolf and Spartan for predator and the Praetorian for Alien.
You say that this is forgotten, I play with my friends ever so often. I definitely love to have more people to play with on it for sure
I loved this game back in the day! If I knew, I would have joined you!
ah - AVP 2010, this gives me so much nostalgia, I still sometimes play it even today - as it was one of the first games I've ever played as a kid :D
Played this like it was my last time play it everytime. Multiplayer was one I will always remember. The amount of memories and late nights!
Another comment is that you didn't mention that you can turn on a full alien life cycle for multiplayer games. So aliens start as face huggers, gotta grab someone and if they get a human you get a regular alien and if you get a predator that has his mask knocked off you become a predalien.
Not to even mention you can actually go all the way up to Queen and actually play as a queen. The game was so legit.
I used to play the even older AvP 2 to death. Back then you had classes for each race with different abilities, most different were the aliens where you had your standard drone, a super fast runner, a slower but heaver predalien and a super deadly but not able to climb praetorian and so on and so forth. There the predator was extremely strong, the plasma caster eviserated everything it saw, you could heal yourself infinetly and were basically a one man army, so a team layout might be like 5 aliens, 5 marines and 1 predator just because of how they played.
I still remember what it was like when I played it with friends on the PS3. We had so much fun and played it from morning to until night. I wish they do a remake or a new AVP game someday.
My favorite part was the customization, I loved the fact that you could get the different predator masks and alien head designs. I wish we could get a complete and true re work of this masterpiece, I still have it on my console
Back when you'd unlock _all_ of it just from playing. Better times. Doesn't need a remake, needs a sequel!
An old and most likely dead F2P game probably called Strain was a 2v3v3 with the teams being 2 monsters vs 3 humans vs 3 humans. The humans could work together to beat the monsters, the monsters could take advantage of the human teams for not working together to get strong then win, or the monsters could just pick a human team to help in the background and those 2 teams could just "eliminate" the lonely human team. I had tons of fun at the time but I knew it was too different to really pop off regardless of how fun and different each game could play out. The play time was pretty quick too which was really nice.
I've played this so many times when I was younger! That's such an incredible game with a lot of cool stuff
YESSSSSSSSSS DUDE, I STILL, DO THIS DAY, PLAY THE MARINE CAMPAIGN. It's just such a beautiful gem, thank you for bringing this back.
So glad to see the Seananners clip in there. Love that guy.
Theres one free to play asymmetrical game that I know that some people say is dead but actually still has a big player count. Its just underrated. Its called Planetside 2. Its a sci-fi, First Person Shooter, Open World, Massive Multiplayer Online game. Its an open world war game where you fight to take territories. Haven't played it in a long time.
There are 3 factions.
Terran republic - They use conventional weapons. Fast and accurate weapons and vehicles
New Conglomerate - They have Experimental and Magnetic weapons. Slow but hard hitting weapons and vehicles (but their empire specific aircraft is the fastest of all aircrafts for some reason)
Vanu Sovereignty - They have plasma and laser weapons. Forgot what their tactics focus on, all I remember is their laser weapons have no bullet drop. They have hover vehicles so their tanks can climb a steep mountain and get a high ground.
Theres one more faction but thats like a neutral faction. Basically, robot guns for hire. If you play as the robots, if you a free to play player, you will be placed in the faction with the lowest player population on the battlefield. Howevr if you a subcription player, you can join an outfit or clan of a specific empire and you can fight for any empire you want.
I was there man. On the leaderboards .That pyramid level that shifted was true....TRUE madness.
I remember this game on the ps3! What a time to be alive. LOVED this game. Loved the fact that as you played each race more, you unlocked skins. All around a wonderful experience. And yes, Predators were WAY stronger back then, it was a LOT easier to land the shots, and the stealth was almost unnoticeable.
When I got this game on release I came across a 3 man team of predators that I swear I never seen lose. They were insane with movement and aim. They would snipe you with the spear and just run you down. Its more of a tactician class where you set up mines go invisible and wait like they do in the movies. They would set up mines and when you go to clear them they would shoot you with plasma guns out of radar range. Then cloak so you cant see and all you had to go off of was a small blue light fading out. They would also sneak behind you with leap and backstab if your not fast enough to notice.
My best moment in this game was marine mission where you enter a club where you fight aliens, fighting aliens while listening to music was so EPIC!
This game was the best back then, I remember when my dad bought this game for me and I did my first multiplayer game, most of the time I would be on campaign.
I remember wiping whole maps of aliens as the Predator. There's a jungle map with a really tall tree you can jump to the top of as Predator, but you have to crawl as the Alien.
I'd get like 40 kills, and all my deaths were from people who managed to catch me before I got to the top of the tree.
Playing this back when it came out was awesome!!
I actually managed to land a position in an avp clan for multiplayer matches, it was so much fun playing it; even if it was considered dead at the time. I stood up till 3am just to play a couple matches of this game. Pred actually has this knockdown ability that knocks both humans and aliens to the ground. During this stun time, you can either hit them with a heavy attack or just light and grab for a guaranteed kill. The spear is an instant kill so you could just either throw that or the disk for quick kills. I did play on console, so PC aim is def the thing that made marines really good
I played multiplayer of this game for an entire year. I found a lot of great friends there.
Kinda sad to here, that eventually it died.
But it was lowkey one of the best Aliens games out there, especially for multiplayer.
Looking at the scenes with the Marines, it just looked like those like alien or terminator arcade machines and I love those so that made me happy
I love this game, used to play this with some people in the past. Have it on disc with the gamebook, one of my better childhood games ngl
I used to play this game so much my copy broke. Man, the memories of playing infestation with my mates back in the 360 days...
I hop on to check the servers every now and then but i havent seen anyone playing for like nearly 10 years at this point
I miss this game so much, I only got like three matches in and was like "Well that was fun, Can't wait to play again with friends" then I could never load a match after that day
I used to play alien in conpeitive 1v1 and 3v3 tournaments. This game was so good.
Bro I played the hell out of this game in high school. I still have my copy of it somewhere and occasionally hop on to play the single player because those missions are a lot of fun too.
