I have no intention of learning this piece - but I have every intention of watching you wince and squirm. You, yourself, are a brilliant musician. Thank you for sharing your process and adventure of discovery. Wonderful, Manley. Or, Wonderful-Manley. 😁
Like the way that you divide the video with the themes, we can find or return to see an specific part more easy... and it always the same, the incredible Manley explaining the hard things in the easiest way.... so much talent...
Or more importantly, the full Logic Session breakdown (1hr 58 mins), where he (Jacob) breaks down the chords, vocal layers and the reasons behind his decisions for each chord, passage and dynamics. An entire Masterclass.
@@ManleyOConnor you got my subscription from this video alone, I love how you break it down. Some issues with the video framerate consistency or whatever, but I can easily look past that when the information being presented is so useful and entertaining
Hey, can you do a video talking about how you came to be able to hear these chords/ melodies? I have played for years and can pick out single intervals and basic major/ minor sounds, but this is insane. Is it just years of practicing songs that have similar chord progressions? I should say I’m a bassist so maybe that’s the reason 😅
I can't explain it... Actually, I can. But even after watching Jacob's full breakdown of the harmonies, your reaction and breakdown simplifies Jacob's lessons and makes it easier to understand and learn. For me, at least. And I think it's cos you're approaching it from a piano player's perspective, rather than a vocal arrangement perspective. Thank you so much for this. From my heart. Really.
Geez, what a wonderful ear, quite amazing not to mention, terribly insightful. For those of us who done music our entire life and studied theory, we would do anything for an ear like that.
Your ear is incredible, Manley. This is such a treat for chord nerds.
couldn't agree more!
