I will say this again. Don't know if you're even reading comments, or have time to, but Shinee are the Prince's of KPoP. Their vocals are amazing. Their harmonizing is amazing. Their lead vocalist passed away in 2017, Jonghyun. He is very missed. 3 members have already done their military mandatory training. Taemin will be next. You should listen to Jonghyun's songs; Y Si Fuera Ella (live), Cocktail & Moon. His vocals were amazing.

My babies!!! Taemin was only 14 years old in this, and the other boys were a few years older. Babies!!! Taemin didn't sing a lot because of puberty and his voice cracking, lol... but now look at his sultry, velvety voice. Growing up did him well. I get a kick out of all the horrible hairstyles they put on Taemin through the years, lol! :)
The song is basically them talking to an older girl about how much they like her and how pretty she is. The literal translation of the Korean name of the song is *Noona is so pretty* (Noona is the word boys in Korea use when talking to an older girl who they are close to, it can be a friend or sister or in this case a crush lol) *Fun fact: This song's storyline has a continuation in their 2015 track Lovesick and in their most recent 2021 track Marry You!!*

2008: Back in 2008 TH-cam was not really a place where artists uploaded music and so there's a lot of Kpop from older days that are 'misdated' because they were uploaded after they aired. So yes this song is over a decade old.
Apart of that; sm reupload a lmany of the old mvs, because they has a problem with the visits in TH-cam and they erased ... so imagine the old mvs have more views
actually, the mvs were alt uploaded on youtube. but sm decided to make a new channel so they deleted the old ones and uploaded them on the smtown channel we now have. the old channel was called sment.

SHINee's "Replay" isn't just nostalgic, it's legendary. And SHINee are legends.
The Noona (the older girl SHINee have a crush on that they are singing to) in the "Replay" MV is the leader of their sister group***, Victoria from F(x). This MV came out more than a year before F(X) debuted so this was Victoria even before debut. (Funny thing is, Victoria is native Chinese and she says she was still learning Korean during this time and she could barely even say SHINee.) Victoria was so perfect in this role because she is a few years older than any of the SHINee members so she fit well as the lead actress in this MV. As the song says, 'Noona neomu yeppeo .... replay, replay, replay ...." In other words they are saying "pretty older woman I really like you and I think you like me too ... every time I see you I need a replay of the moment over and over again in my head." Noona neomu yeppeo is a Korean term that essentially means "Pretty older woman" Yeppeo is a term that means beautiful that is only used by guys to describe a beautiful woman that is older than them. There really isn't a literal translation of the term so that is why the song is called "Replay" in English. But in Korean it is called "Noona neomu yeppeo." That's why if you watch SHINee on a lot of variety shows and TV programs, the older women in the show often ask SHINee to sing this song to them.
***** SHINee and F(x) are both SM Entertainment groups, they debuted within a year of each other, they both are 5 member groups (Now 4 member groups ;( ) and they have similar music styles and concepts, etc. F(x) is pretty much the female version of SHINee.
"Replay" actually came out in 2008 -- more than 12 years ago -- however, SM launched their new TH-cam channel in 2011 and reuploaded all their older videos at that time. So all of their older MVs and content will have a 2011 date but, like "Replay," they actually may be from much earlier.
"Replay" is literally considered one of the best debut songs of all time for any Kpop artist because it's so timeless and it never goes out of style or sounds outdated no matter how old it gets. And this is why SHINee are Icons. This song makes all the women swoon.
You just witnessed baby SHINee and were already blown away, just imagine what it will be like as you go through their discography and MVs. They have 12 full-length albums (6 Korean albums and 6 Japanese albums), a multitude of mini albums, numerous OSTS, they each have solo songs and albums and there are hundreds of live performances that will absolutely leave you speechless with their talent. And it only gets more and more impressive as you follow them through their career. They have accomplished a lot in the past 12+ years and they are one of the groups that made Kpop what it is today.
SHINee are one of the most iconic and influential groups as trendsetters. This song was way ahead of its time when it first came out. SHINee are known for never being afraid to experiment with their style and sound in a song and for the fact that no two songs of theirs will ever be the same even on the same album. SHINee are always setting trends, never following them. As SM's experimental boy group, nothing you hear from SHINee will ever sound the same, and, yet, somehow it will always sound like SHINee. So this shows just how talented even as teenagers SHINee were. If you want to see where SHINee truly shines you have to watch their live concert performances.
Fun fact: SM originally wanted to make SHINee a hip-hop group. Hip-hop was the style of music that was really popular when they debuted. That's why Key and Minho are both rappers and how Taemin started out as a popper in dance. But as Key tells it, they just didn't have the swag to pull of hip-hop, so SM switched up their sound and style to something that fit them better and they came up with the signature classic SHINee R&B vocals they are now known for. I, for one, am so glad they debuted with their signature R&B style instead of hip-hop. I can't imagine the world if we never knew the amazing vocals and sound that is SHINee today. Things would be so different.
May 25, 2020, was SHINee's 12th anniversary. So SHINee are part of the second generation of Kpop and yet they are younger than most everyone in their generation and are the same age or even younger than most other groups, such as EXO and BTS, etc. which are part of Kpop's third generation. SHINee debuted young and have the experience of seasoned veterans. It just goes to show you why they are legends in the industry.
When SHINee debuted Onew (the leader and lead vocalist) was 18, Jonghyun (the main vocalist and songwriter) had just turned 18, Minho (the main rapper and sub-vocalist) and Key (lead vocalist and sub-rapper) were 16 and Taemin (Main dancer and lead vocalist) was 14, so now they are all in their late 20s and early 30s. (Onew just turned 31 in December.) SHINee are some of the most well respected artists in the industry.
Onew (Pronounced Oh-New, real name Lee JinKi) -- the one in the hat -- is the leader of the group and he has one of the most unique and best voices in the industry. (Onew means, or sounds like, the Korean words for soft or gentle, so he was given his stage name because he has a very calm and gentle personality.) His vocals are unmatched. He even holds the record (40+ seconds) for the longest continuous note without changing tone or pitch, etc.
Jonghyun -- the one with the bandanna -- is known as one of the best vocalist in Kpop who was one of the most prolific songwriters and composers of his generation. Jonghyun wrote and composed almost 40% of SHINee's songs, plus he wrote all of his own solo songs and numerous songs for other artists, such as EXO's "Playboy" and songs for Taemin, IU and Lee HI, etc., as well as participated in several movie and drama OSTs. He was one of the only SM artists to be given complete artistic control over his work, including several of SHINee's song selections. SM knew that if Jonghyun was involved in any way that the song would be a hit. He was extremely respected within the industry as a songwriter, composer and singer. He was one of the very first Idols to be known for this songwriting and composing skills. As the main vocalist, Jonghyun is the one you hear with all the amazing high notes and R&B runs and ad libs most of the time.
Key -- the one in green -- is our diva and fashionista of the group who is SHINee's stylist for a lot of their MVs and stage outfits. SHINee are known for setting trends and never being afraid to experiment with their sound or look, so Key is known for really paying attention to detail when it comes to fashion. He is known for always being unique and wanting to stand out. He is an amazing singer and is a sub-rapper in the group. He is also known as SHINee's dance copy machine. Key has the ability to see and remember choreography the fastest in the group. He only needs to watch the dance once and he has it memorized. He is also SHINee's fluent English speaker, and he is almost as good as a native speaker.
Minho -- the one playing basketball -- is the main rapper and visual of the group, but his vocals are also some of the best in the industry. Minho sings just as much as he raps. He also writes most of his own raps in SHINee's songs. Minho is one of the top actors in the industry and he has starred in numerous dramas and movies. Minho is also known as a top athlete. He says these days he goes to the gym a couple of times a day to work out just because he likes to work out, but he is also crazy about soccer, and he plays basketball, baseball and golf, and he is good at track and field events, etc., as well. And not only does he enjoy playing all those sports, but he is usually the best athlete on the field and he pretty much wins every time. There is a reason why Minho's nickname is "Flaming Charisma," and one reason is for his intense passion for sports and his need to always win.
And, as you may know, Taemin -- the one in yellow -- is considered one of THE BEST dancers in the industry, and that's not just by fans but by everyone in the industry, including his peers. Taemin's nickname is the Korean Michael Jackson. As you can see by their "Replay" MV, even at 14, Taemin was one of the best dancers in the industry, and you will soon discover with the more that you watch from SHINee and Taemin's solo work, that he has only gotten more magnificent over the years. Taemin is also one of the most popular solo artists in the industry and he is a member of the Kpop supergroup SuperM. Taemin truly is art when it comes to his performances.
SHINee are one of the top groups that are known for the fact that they all can do it all. They are a group of 5 amazing vocalists, 5 impressive dancers, 5 visuals, 5 rappers, 5 top actors, and 5 of the most talented and unique voices in all of Kpop. Once you get to know their voices you will always be able to pick them out of a crowd just by the sound of their voice. As a SHINee World -- what SHINee's fans are known as -- or Shawol for short (pronounced like shy-wall), I can tell who is speaking or singing within 1 second even with my eyes closed with them standing in a crowd of screaming fans. Each of their voices are that unique -- there is no one with a voice like any of theirs. That is why they are "The Princes of Kpop".

It's not an official dance practice video because dance practice videos didn't become a thing until 2010 when SHINee released the industry's very first dance practice video with their song "Lucifer," but it is a real dance practice video from way back to SHINee's debut days. SHINee were literally the first group to ever release a dance practice video specifically for fans to watch and they are the reason why Kpop groups produce dance practice/choreography videos today.

SHINee are known for their live vocals and amazing dancing. They are known as CD-quality singers because they sound just as good live, if not better, than they do recorded. SHINee always sings live. The ONLY thing they are not good at is lip syncing so they avoid it at all costs, so when you hear SHINee singing 95% of the time it will be live. It's a running joke between the fans and the members that when SHINee lip syncs you can tell because it's very obvious. Yes, over the years they have become better at lip syncing then they used to be, but now they have gained the reputation as the group that always sings live, so unless they are required to lip sync for a specific reason, SHINee will always sing live. They have trained their entire career to be able to sing live and always sound flawless while performing extremely complex choreography. SHINee set the standard. That is why they are so highly respected among their peers. It is literally referred to as the SHINee standard. It's the standard all other groups strive to reach.
You really should check out some of their live concert performances because their stages are like none other. Their concerts last 3 to 4 hours straight and they perform nonstop and never sound out of tune or out of breath. They are also one of the best dancers in Kpop and they have some of the best harmonies you will ever hear.
If you know EXO, then you know how good of vocalists they are, well, the members of SHINee actually were mentors to a lot of the EXO members and they helped coach them in their singing. The members of EXO and the members of SHINee are all around the same age and they were all part of the same trainee classes together, and, yet, SHINee debuted 4 years before EXO, so that just goes to show you a little bit of what makes SHINee so amazing and why they are considered legends.
SHINee is pronounced like Shiny -- as in shiny stars or Shiny diamonds -- because they are so magnificent that they need a double ee to show just how brilliant they shine. They SHINe(e) like the sparkling performers that they are. That is also why their symbol is a diamond.

This is one of, if not the best, debuts in kpop! And like you said, they really grew up to be legends. Some more iconic MVs to react to are “Sherlock”, “Lucifer”, “married to the music” and “good evening”. I’d also highly recommend to react to their live performances, for example “excuse me, miss” and “why so serious”.
You’re also totally correct to describe them as early vocal legends. Jonghyun (the one whose runs you pointed out) was one of the best and most unique vocals in kpop.
SM is really the house of vocals in kpop: EXO, shinee, red velvet, girls generation, TVXQ, super junior and so on.
I hope you’ll also react to some more older groups. 1st and 2nd generation kpop has some great gems and it’s really interesting to see how the music has evolved over the years.

This group was the first ever to introduce what we know as dance practice videos in kpop. Pioneers for kpop! This is actually a hard song to make a cover for, no one does it justice as SHINee does. However, recently TXT has done really good covers for Replay and Sherlock

This song actually came out in 2008, but at the time, TH-cam wasn't really used as a music video platform yet so it didn't get uploaded to youtube until 2011. Yes this debut is iconic, the girl in the MV is Victoria, a member of another SM group, F(X). Shinee was seen as a game changer especially when it came to dance. They really help raised the bar for idols being recognized as dancers/performers rather than just singers. They were really amazing when it came to choreography and dance.

it was 2008 and Shinee debuted in Mar this year. Their youngest Maknae is Taemin which was 14/15 years old and the oldest Onew was then about 17 years old the rest are in between $15 to 16 years old and they are still around after about almost 13 years is because of their strength and unity as a group. Legendary songs and genre that they attempted....the 3 older ones are just out of army end of last year and rejoining with Taemin to have a comeback soon Feb 22. Something to look out for....Shinee is also pretty active in Japan and had released quite a number of Japanese albums which you may want to look into. Their live performances and vocals are really amazing which you may want to check out some of the popular Shinee concerts performances.

Replay is considered by many as the best debut song ever. This song and video was in 2008 (it was just reuploaded in SM channel in 2011). Taemin was just 14 at that time while the oldest Onew was 18.
SHINee is considered as an experimental group - not really much into following trends but instead setting them - music, fashion etc. They always have something new every comeback. Most newer idols look up to them and isnpired them to become idols too. Hope to see more SHINee from your channel including the live performances (Excuse Me Miss, Sherlock from SWC4)

SHINee is one of the most legendary groups in K-Pop and boasts some of the best vocals in the industry like Jonghyun who was at 2:10. Their main dancer Taemin was only 14 when this came out and now is a million-seller soloist. You reacted to his song IDEA and he is the one in the yellow jacket at 2:29. They have Onew (3:08) who is a powerful vocal and can hold extremely long and stable notes. They have Minho (3:10) who is their main rapper and their visual who has an amazing deep rapping voice. And Key (2:32), the lead dancer, and rapper who has some killer solos and high notes. They debuted in 2008 under SM Entertainment who also houses NCT, EXO, etc. This is their debut song and they also have some other great ones like Sherlock, Stranger, Everybody, View, 1 of 1, and Good Evening. They are really great so I would check them out even more

Replay is that song that touches every kpopper's heart. In the second the song starts, you can already say it is Replay and your heart pumps just like the song. I've been a shawol for almost 10 years and this song never gets old. I also highly recommend Shinee's live performance of Excuse Me Miss. I just loved how Jonghyun and Taemin vibe together in that performance. Shinee was one of my favorite ❤ groups. Jonghyun was one of my favorite members in the group but sadly committed suicide. Was just heartbreaking 💔 😢 He was so talented. Please listen to some of his solo work. Songs like End if Day, Diphylieia Gray, I'm Sorry, Fireplace, Elevator, Suit up and the song MOON sounds similar to the artist Prince, are just some of my personal favorites. I have all of his solo tracks.

this song made them the grandslam rookie of the year for bagging all the awards given to all the rookies during the time of its release. and during that time their concept is refreshing as they are the group who sang songs fit for their age.

I actually was inspired to continue singing because of Jonghyun 4:54. (the one who did most of the runs) . He is one of the most developed Kpop singer in terms of techniques.

This is the first time I’m watching anything SHINee related since Jonghyun’s passing. My heart is both so happy hearing this song and so pained at the same time.
I'm so happy 😊. Yay Shinee! Shinee's debut. Taemin is the skinny kid dancing up front and the youngest or maknae. He was around 14 when they debuted. He was the main dancer and the song Replay is about a boy in love with a older woman. This song started a kind of saga they sang several other songs that were like sequels to Replay throughout their career (i.e. LoveSick) 💚 Shinee's evolution is basically the evolution of kpop to what we know now. Keep watching it gives you a rich foundation for what you see when you look at their little bro groups like Exo and NCT.
