The Nuna (the older girl they have a crush on that they are singing to) in the "Replay" MV is Victoria, the leader of F(x), who are SHinee's sister group.This MV came out more than a year before F(X) debuted, so this was Victoria even before debut. (Funny thing is Victoria is native Chinese and she says she was still learning Korean during this time and she could barely even say SHINee.)
Victoria was so perfect in this role because she is a few years older than any of the SHINee members so she fit well as the lead actress in this MV. As the song says, 'Nunan neomu yeppeo .... replay, replay, replay ...." In other words they are saying "pretty older woman I really like you and I think you like me too ... every time I see you I need a replay of the moment over and over again in my head." Nunan neomu yeppeo is a Korean term that essentially means "Pretty older woman" Yeppeo is a term that means beautiful that is only used by guys to describe a beautiful woman that is older than them. There really isn't a literal translation of the term so that is why the song is called "Replay" in English. But in Korean it is called "Nuna Neomu Yeppeo." That's why if you watch SHINee on a lot of variety shows and TV programs the older women on the show often ask SHINee to sing this song to them. This is considered one of the best debut songs of all time for any Kpop artist because its so timeless and it never goes out of style or sounds outdated no matter how old it gets. This song makes all the women swoon.
Did you know that SM Entertainment originally wanted to make SHINee a hip-hop group? Hip-hop was the style of music that was really popular in 2008 when SHINee debuted, so SM thought they would make SHINee the next big hip-hop group. That's why Key and Minho are both rappers and how Taemin started out as a popper in dance. But as Key tells it, they just didn't have the swag to pull off hip-hop, so SM switched up their sound and style to something that fit them better. And that's how they came up with the signature classic SHINee R&B vocals they are now known for. I, for one, am so glad they debuted with this style instead of hip-hop. Can you imagine if the world never knew the amazing vocals and sound that is SHINee today? Things would be so different.
SHINee debuted in 2008 with "Replay" when Onew (the leader and lead vocalist) was 18, Jonghyun (the main vocalist and songwriter) was 17, Minho (the main rapper and sub-vocalist) and Key (lead vocalist and sub-rapper) were 16 and Taemin (Main dancer and lead vocalist) was 14, so now after 10 years they are all in their late to mid-20s. And you just saw why SHINee are some of the most well respected artists in the industry. :D Because even as babies they were amazing artists, and over the years they only grew to become even more outstanding.

@@tralaiabell9073 On their debut date which was May 25, 2008 Onew was still 18. Onew's birthday is December 12, 1989 so he had not turned 19 yet -- he still has 7 months before he turned 19. Jonghyun was born April 8, 1990 so he turned 18 a month before they debuted. So Jonghyun and Onew are the same age for about 8 months of the year -- Onew is actually only 4 months older than Jonghyun. Minho is born Dec.9, 1991 and Key was born Sept. 23 1991 So by May 25 both Minho and Key were still 16 -- they had not turned 17 yet. And Taemin's birthday is July 18, 1993 so it was 2 months before his 15 birthday. Maybe you were thinking of their Korean ages. But in International age, I am correct.

During their lives (for example for 'Romantic') back in 2008, Jonghyun always had to sing with Taemin during Taemin's supposed 'solo' parts because he needed aid...you could hear for yourself that he was a tad bit tone deaf for their earlier lives...It's amazing that he's one of the greatest vocalists in kpop now @@inthediamondsky

I don't think we should spread rumors or misinformation just because "We can hear it". I'm going to go by what he's stated, not what everyone else does. Also the needing aid could literally have just been his voice in puberty. It changes a whole lot.
Dino Of course Taemin was never tone deaf :) He wouldn’t sing so great now if he was ever tone deaf. To be tone deaf means you can not sing in tune, because you don’t hear the precise difference between sounds. Taemin’s problem at the beginning was totally different - obviously he could hear perfectly, just couldn’t sing perfectly because of lack of proper training and technique. Besides his voice was still changing, so it would also crack and be unstable because of this reason and also because of that he couldn’t have a proper training. That’s why he made such a huge and quick progress once he finally was able to train properly and once his voice finally matured :)

Replay will always be THAT song. I've been following the K-pop since just before SHINee debuted, and I can say that Replay is right at top of best debut songs ever. I remember no one at the time sounded so refreshingly R&B like baby SHINee did. It was such a smooth perfect song that was cutesy enough for their young ages, but still able to show their vocals, plus that choreography that made them grab everyone's attention. Their choreographer, Rino Nakasone, made most of the choreography for their early hits, then branched out to SNSD and f(x). She eventually became the concert director for SNSD's Japanese concerts, and has handled SHINee's Japanese concerts as well. Also, the fashion for this Replay video launched a craze. I'm from Southeast Asia, but a lot of Koreans come to study here to learn English, and I swear, so many Korean guys in my college ended up dressing like SHINee in the Replay video the year this came out. SHINee such icons even from fetus days!

I love how you react everytime you hear those power vocals by jonghyun, key and onew. It just makes me so happy that someone appreciates SHINee's talents. Maybe this is just me but I rarely see foreigners would appreciate kpop even if they dont understand the language maybe cause I grew up around people getting weirded out or hating on me for playing korean/japanese music lol. Watching this video made me happy. Replay is like my all time favorite song! Its also surprising to me that this is their DEBUT song haha! Pretty impressive if you ask me. Jonghyun is also my bias ever since their debut. I liked him not just because of physical appearance but his voice and how he sings is just so beautiful. Bruh!!!😭😭 The intensity of SHINee's debut back in 2008, these guys came forward and killed it. I remember I couldn't take my eyes off this group, and this was around the time I was stanning TVXQ, Big Bang, Dynamic Duo, and Epic High hard, but when SHINee hit the scene as SM's newest prospects..my heart dropped. Replay was epic and it's still in my playlist to this very day. Minho, Jonghyun and Taemin were pure visual concepts wit they young self. Where have the days gone man...I miss this era.
