The best debut song ever!!! And wow at you referencing Lucy Pearl, we love a throwback! Actually Key mentions Tony Toni Toné as one of the inspirations for the fashion in the 1 of 1 video. So everything comes full circle
This is THE BEST DEBUT SONG!! I love it when you do TBT Honestly you should react to the BIGBANG We Belong Together mv that totally looks exactly like the Chris Brown Say Goodbye music video lol
The Nuna (the older girl they have a crush on that they are singing to) in the "Replay" MV is Victoria, the leader of F(x), who are SHinee's sister group. This MV came out more than a year before F(X) debuted, so this was Victoria even before debut. (Funny thing is Victoria is native Chinese and she says she was still learning Korean during this time and she could barely even say SHINee.) Victoria was so perfect in this role because she is a few years older than any of the SHINee members so she fit well as the lead actress in this MV. As the song says, 'Nunan neomu yeppeo .... replay, replay, replay ...." In other words they are saying "pretty older woman I really like you and I think you like me too ... every time I see you I need a replay of the moment over and over again in my head." Nunan neomu yeppeo is a Korean term that essentially means "Pretty older woman" Yeppeo is a term that means beautiful that is only used by guys to describe a beautiful woman that is older than them. There really isn't a literal translation of the term so that is why the song is called "Replay" in English. But in Korean it is called "Nuna Neomu Yeppeo." That's why if you watch SHINee on a lot of variety shows and TV programs the older women on the show often ask SHINee to sing this song to them. This is considered one of the best debut songs of all time for any Kpop artist because its so timeless and it never goes out of style or sounds outdated no matter how old it gets. This song makes all the women swoon. Did you know that SM Entertainment originally wanted to make SHINee a hip-hop group? Hip-hop was the style of music that was really popular in 2008 when SHINee debuted, so SM thought they would make SHINee the next big hip-hop group. That's why Key and Minho are both rappers and how Taemin started out as a popper in dance. But as Key tells it, they just didn't have the swag to pull off hip-hop, so SM switched up their sound and style to something that fit them better. And that's how they came up with the signature classic SHINee R&B vocals they are now known for. I, for one, am so glad they debuted with this style instead of hip-hop. Can you imagine if the world never knew the amazing vocals and sound that is SHINee today? Things would be so different. SHINee debuted in 2008 with "Replay" when Onew (the leader and lead vocalist) was 18, Jonghyun (the main vocalist and songwriter) was 17, Minho (the main rapper and sub-vocalist) and Key (lead vocalist and sub-rapper) were 16 and Taemin (Main dancer and lead vocalist) was 14, so now after 10 years they are all in their late to mid-20s. And you just saw why SHINee are some of the most well respected artists in the industry. :D Because even as babies they were amazing artists, and over the years they only grew to become even more outstanding.
@@tralaiabell9073 On their debut date which was May 25, 2008 Onew was still 18. Onew's birthday is December 12, 1989 so he had not turned 19 yet -- he still has 7 months before he turned 19. Jonghyun was born April 8, 1990 so he turned 18 a month before they debuted. So Jonghyun and Onew are the same age for about 8 months of the year -- Onew is actually only 4 months older than Jonghyun. Minho is born Dec.9, 1991 and Key was born Sept. 23 1991 So by May 25 both Minho and Key were still 16 -- they had not turned 17 yet. And Taemin's birthday is July 18, 1993 so it was 2 months before his 15 birthday. Maybe you were thinking of their Korean ages. But in International age, I am correct.
You want disrespectful try Jonghyun's Moon or Crazy guilty pleasures... This one live on 2016, and yes, this is that song by the way they sampled that Lucy Pearl dance tonight... This song live on 2016 was amazing and so special, last time Jjong sang it live.
You've got to react to their Replay - SHINee World IV stage version. It's a great comparison from their debut to their improvements over the years, and it's a beautiful stage!

Wait, he was?? In his recent interview he said he couldn't sing a lot in the first few albums because he was going through puberty and his voice was changing
During their lives (for example for 'Romantic') back in 2008, Jonghyun always had to sing with Taemin during Taemin's supposed 'solo' parts because he needed aid...you could hear for yourself that he was a tad bit tone deaf for their earlier lives...It's amazing that he's one of the greatest vocalists in kpop now @@inthediamondsky

Dino Of course Taemin was never tone deaf :) He wouldn’t sing so great now if he was ever tone deaf. To be tone deaf means you can not sing in tune, because you don’t hear the precise difference between sounds. Taemin’s problem at the beginning was totally different - obviously he could hear perfectly, just couldn’t sing perfectly because of lack of proper training and technique. This was the first k-pop song I heard years ago. I fell in love with this group and played them for months! Jonghyun's voice is one of the best. So sad we lost him... RIP
This song makes me so emotional now, this song came out when I was in 9th grade and it was mine and my HS Sweetheart’s jam (almost 11 yrs later now he is my Husband!) Jonghyun you did so well! Vocal Legend! Shinee forever!!!
Replay will always be THAT song. I've been following the K-pop since just before SHINee debuted, and I can say that Replay is right at top of best debut songs ever. I remember no one at the time sounded so refreshingly R&B like baby SHINee did. It was such a smooth perfect song that was cutesy enough for their young ages, but still able to show their vocals, plus that choreography that made them grab everyone's attention. Their choreographer, Rino Nakasone, made most of the choreography for their early hits, then branched out to SNSD and f(x). She eventually became the concert director for SNSD's Japanese concerts, and has handled SHINee's Japanese concerts as well. Also, the fashion for this Replay video launched a craze. I'm from Southeast Asia, but a lot of Koreans come to study here to learn English, and I swear, so many Korean guys in my college ended up dressing like SHINee in the Replay video the year this came out. SHINee such icons even from fetus days!
Rest in peace Jonghyun! This is the most iconic debut song of all time, SHINee are kings! You should listen to Breathe by Jonghyun. It's so beautiful and he sang it before his death. Then, Lee Hi sang it and it is an official song.
SHINee is the whole reason why I started listening to kpop I love them so much and am so proud of what they have and continue to accomplish ❤❤❤ our Jjong would be proud
Just love this song so much and even though it's been over a year, I can't help but cry every time I hear Jonghyun's voice. My sister introduced me to Shinee during the View era but this is my ultimate favorite song. When he passed, I had this song on repeat for a week. I miss him so much. You did well, Jonghyun. 잘 했어요 종현아❤❤❤

I've been in kpop since 2008 and replay is STILL the best debut song and choreo IMHO. Those moves and those vocals cannot be beat. "You'll live forever singing like that man" 😢 thank you for saying this. I love you for your respectful reactions to our beautiful, talented vocal king.
Baby 5hinee is literal life. Replay is one of the very very rare songs that age SO well. Dezzy's pronunciation of their names has gotten a lot better (A+ on that)
2ne1 introduced me to Kpop in 2009 and Shinee was the first BG I’ve listened to. Replay will forever be in my list of my favorites. The memories..... 🥺😭🤧
This is still one of the best debuts ever. Their first album will always mean so much to me, they’re the first group I ever invested time with when I got into KPOP back in 2009. Good times
They were literal kids, and they came and smashed the entire scene with this iconic bop. This is it, the song that got me into k-pop nearly 12 years ago. I was 15 at the time, (I'm now 27!) and I have stayed stanning SHINee ever since. The best debut in k-pop history, I said what I said!
Can you do a throwback reaction to infinite now? ShiBeIn were a big trio in the second gen consisting of Shinee Beast/Highlight and INFINITE. It would be cool if you checked them all out, i think infinite is the only group you havent seen.
Bruh!!!😭😭 The intensity of SHINee's debut back in 2008, these guys came forward and killed it. I remember I couldn't take my eyes off this group, and this was around the time I was stanning TVXQ, Big Bang, Dynamic Duo, and Epic High hard, but when SHINee hit the scene as SM's newest prospects..my heart dropped. Replay was epic and it's still in my playlist to this very day. Minho, Jonghyun and Taemin were pure visual concepts wit they young self. Where have the days gone man...I miss this era.
Kpop really just opened up my world to soooo many different types of music. And just as you said at the end where growing up with Kpop and everything, because I literally was fortunate to have found Kpop in 2007 when I was like 7 and my aunt showed me snsd and shinee and my whole world changed and music is such a huge part of my life. My literal two favorite debut songs that will never die are Replay by SHinee and Into The New World by snsd, the fact that so many people have loved these two songs just makes me happy.
I may love other kpop groups but SHINee will forever be in my heart. Thank you for this reaction. Replay for me is the best debut ever. Even their debut performance is lit.
Thank you for doing TBT It makes me happy that your reacting to old kpop songs and educating yourself on how kpop was then like going back to it's roots or something before it got really big now ..keep it up Reply will always be my fav. song of all time it gives me nostalgic feelings.. SHINee is one the groups that really got me into K-pop ..they made me stay so they always have a special place in my 💓. I hate that these days I'm happy and sad when I see SHINee ...I'm still heartbroken about Jonghyun .that up to this day I can't get myself to watch his last mv because I feel like I'm saying goodbye..I know it's bad but idk
When I started to get into kpop, I got linked 2 songs (Kara - Step and Miss A - Goodbye baby) After that I searched up boy groups and found Super Junior and SHINee. Replay was one of the first songs I heard from a boy group and loved it! (still love it) and had it on "replay" so much. My life changed to the better that day.

Yeeees
Jino(aka Jinho from Pentagon) not Dino lol
OMG YES
Thanks for appreciating SHINee, this is and still is my favourite kpop song of all time! They are such a unique group
literally the BEST debut kpop song in existence nothing will ever top it and nothing ever will
They were literal kids, and they came and smashed the entire scene with this iconic bop.
This is it, the song that got me into k-pop nearly 12 years ago. I was 15 at the time, (I'm now 27!) and I have stayed stanning SHINee ever since.
The best debut in k-pop history, I said what I said!
I’m legit being blessed by these vocals omggggggg 😱😱
Wtf am i crying for??
This will remain to be my most fav Shinee song ever.
Shinee is the reason I've loved kpop all these years
It really is the perfect debut. Still👌🏻❤️
Can you do a throwback reaction to infinite now? ShiBeIn were a big trio in the second gen consisting of Shinee Beast/Highlight and INFINITE. It would be cool if you checked them all out, i think infinite is the only group you havent seen.
The Chaser is ICONIC no bias just facts.
Forever my favorite debut song! Also, favorite SHINee song!
my favourite group SHINee! ❤️
Their debut song is one of the best song and really addictive.
This song is one of the most legendary debuts of all time, right alongside SNSD ITNW
alllllll I’m saying is rest in love to the beautiful king & also THIS IS THE BEST DEBUT SONG OF ALL TIME
omg fetus shinee 😭the first and only kpop group I've been following since their debut. we stan kings, only fax no printer
Just here to say I love SHINee and I love your reactions, they always come across as so genuine and they're just nice to watch
for me SHINee has the most powerful and iconic debut song
This is literally one of the most legendary debuts of all time. People to this day have been unable to top it.
This song never gets old
This is the best debut and for me still one of the best kpop songs ever
Hearing this song warms my heart every single time. Honestly.
My favorite SHINee song of all time. Thank you for reacting to this.
I'm slill crying and love this 💌💌💌
Dezzy much respect to you, you know your stuff with the Lucy Pearl call out. 100% that is where they got that melody from. Good ears.
You should check out another oldie by SHINee, "Juliette.," This one gives off Jackson 5 vibes.
I'm not crying you are
Thank you, Dezzy. Never thought I needed to rewatch this MV
SHINee had one of the best debuts ever in kpop history. Certainly the best debut song of SM.
One of the best debuts of all time.
I may love other kpop groups but SHINee will forever be in my heart. Thank you for this reaction. Replay for me is the best debut ever. Even their debut performance is lit.
I am never ever gonna get over this song even in the after life and I will send this song down generation by generation
This song always put a smile on my face whenever Im feeling down but now I feel some sort of sadness when I watch this music video
hit me right in the feels! this came out in 2008 and me and my sister had just gotten into kpop....and it's still a bop lol
Thank you for doing TBT It makes me happy that your reacting to old kpop songs and educating yourself on how kpop was then like going back to it's roots or something before it got really big now ..keep it up
Reply will always be my fav. song of all time it gives me nostalgic feelings.. SHINee is one the groups that really got me into K-pop ..they made me stay so they always have a special place in my 💓. I hate that these days
I'm happy and sad when I see SHINee ...I'm still heartbroken about Jonghyun .that up to this day I can't get myself to watch his last mv because I feel like I'm saying goodbye..I know it's bad but idk
When I started to get into kpop, I got linked 2 songs (Kara - Step and Miss A - Goodbye baby)
After that I searched up boy groups and found Super Junior and SHINee. Replay was one of the first songs I heard from a boy group and loved it! (still love it) and had it on "replay" so much. My life changed to the better that day.
Omg thank you so much for reacting to this!! I wish more people would react to their debut song lol, it's such a bop!!
