When you say "These Fans run really really fast!", how fast do you mean? because average fan speed for a lot of people is 1200 - 1500rps, I have fans that do 2000rps but I know I can get case fans that do 3000rps so again how fast is Really Really fast? lol

He states it in the vid. 1900RPM. Which is pretty high for average fans. Noctua Industrials run up to 3000RPM, but then again those are designed for that.
And since 40dBA was apparently the fans at 65%, that gives us an approx. RPM of 1250.

TLDR, we need custom water cooling focused case reviewers.
I have one on pre-order and at $100, I really shouldn't be complaining... but here I am.
I got to say there's a lot impressive about this case but the negatives are pretty glaring for custom water cooling. First, the vertical radiator space limitations. th-cam.com/video/Zs51JtTxiY0/w-d-xo.html Being limited to a 125mm thick radiator for the rear chamber vertical mount is a serious drawback. This is likely caused by the front I/O ports and the mounting mount locations. TLDR, I would suggest you move the vertical rad mounting points at least 6mm toward the rear of the case and use a rail system for the mounting points.
There are many 360mm rads that are thicker than 125mm (Hardware Labs, EK PE, etc) and the ones that are thinner, often don't perform well comparatively. Given this, these rads must be put in the main chamber. The problem with that is that the ports at the top (ports at bottom isn't possible due to screw locations, another negative) would be very obstructed by any top mounted radiator. Fans would also have to be in the rear chamber, which is unfortunate given they are commonly an aesthetic component. While I don't have an issue modding this case, others will likely be less enthused. For me, personally, this was one of the most common and vocalized drawbacks on the PC-011 WGX and it's a bit disappointing to see it carry over to the Dynamic.
Then the lack of custom AIB GPU waterblock support, in the horizontal position, is also a negative. Many people own Strix, Aurous, MSI Gaming, EVGA FTW, etc GPUs with blocks. It looks like none of those cards/blocks will work in the horizontal position. Luckily, there is the vertical mounting options, but this has an extra cost and configuration considerations. Also, on that vertical mount, This was also a problem on the WGX, but that model did come with the riser. I hope it is possible to mount the bracket at the top PCIE slot so we can at least put fans in the bottom while the vertical bracket is installed?
Given that der8aurer consulted on the design of this case I'm a little surprised that it has these limitations.
      Other (minor) pieces of feedback:
      - 5.25 bay option in the upper rear HDD/PSU mounting area for Aquaero/5.25 reservoir bay would be great.
      - 140mm ventilation on the bottom mounting bracket, like on the top. ATM the bottom fan/rad mounts only have vents up to the 120mm point. So 140mm fans/rads will not get as much airflow.
      - Rad ports at the bottom orientation for the vertical radiator bracket. ATM only top ports are possible. Ports at the bottom is often a superior position because it allows that radiator to be drained more easily. This could be achieved easily by making the vertical rad mounts a top to bottom rail system vs fixed mounting points.
      - Ability to swap front aluminum panels (silver panel on black case and black panel on white case)

I have a build with this case with hybrid air cooling for vid card and water cool for the processor. I have 9 fans. Sides as intake, bottom as intake and radiator top at an outtake. My system runs at around 45 C. The video card is a 2080 Super which is probably the biggest 2080 you can get. All things considered, it's a really nice case. I was upgrading (depends on your definition) from a Corsair Obsidian 900 D. I wanted small compact and still maintain the cool. I also moved to a Corsair Hyrdo X (with PETG tubing) which perfectly mounted toward the back over one of the 180 mm. I'm wanting to water-cool the card, however the space now becomes an issue for an additional pump. The 2080 is so massive, in order to watercool, I believe I might have to use a different vid card OR Side mount the card which might help with heat by removing the card away from the mobo. I'll figure this out.. Just need another paycheck to invest into. The case is greatly price, but you'll end up spending on the accessories to make it work better. I fell in love with the corsair iCUE system. I actually installed 2 commander pros. I'll post up link with pictures, but I really love this case. I also need to get a new power supply, I use an EVGA 1300 watt PS, which is also a space eater/heater. I'm going to remove the 2nd power chassis which is actually a duel hard drive bay. I'm having to order threaded EVGA specific cables. Due to limited space the threaded extensions eat up too much room.
    Running
Asus: ASUS ROG Strix Z490-A Gaming Z490
    Processor: Intel 10th Gen i9 10900K
    MSI: RTX 3080 Gaming X Trio 10G
    Mem: Corsair Vengeance 4 X 8 3600
I'm not running m.2 but using raid 0 x 2 samsung 1 tb (x2) *yes I know raid is pointless, I just didn't want to fiddle with 2 drives for software, I please on moving to m.2.
posting 100-105 FPS at 2K on COD MW/ 60-65 FPS on 4K at full graphics with ray tracing.
I haven't run a score bench yet, but will when I'm done with everything.
Current issues: The video card is designed to run hot and my pipes go right along top of it into the motherboard S.Bridge. That pipe is heating up because of the vid card. That's an oversight from my behalf. When I move the vid card parallel, that should alleviate that issue. I just lose functionality for my other slots. (goodbye remote power switch)
I'm also running magnetic 2500 180 mm corsair fans. I was hoping to get some quiet out of it, but when you run everything at full, the fans fully rev up and it at times can sound like an old fashion window AC.
A plus, It looks SHARP. I'm going with a mostly white build. I'm now an MSI fan, however the software to controls the lights is nice. The iCue tied in with lighting and the fans also make a nice effect. I run all the lights white.
There's my bragging session. Not sure what to do next when I'm done. I'm still on a list for the MSI 3080, but may change my mind and move to the ASUS based on stability reviews. Who knows.
PS: to add, the last thing I would like to due is run a transparent LCD on the Side window. Just gotta find one or invest and take a chance of taking an LCD monitor apart.

This is actually one of the few case reviews on GN i feel satisfied with, and it is all due to the fan experimentation here.
What i often feel is missing is a test of what a typical fan setup for a case is so i can get a more realistic impression of what it would be like.
I do get why they usually only use the included fans, cause they wanna test what you actually get for your money, but on higher end cases with fewer fans included, i feel this kinda does not represent the case properly, cause nobody building a gaming rig with a i7 and 1080 would ever just have 1 fan in a normal tower, so i would also like to see the "what you would normally install" scenario as well.

Would love to see a re-do on this with an AIO/watercooler. Don't know if you have a lot of comparison data, but might be interesting to see it compared with a couple of other watercooling-focused cases. I just feel like testing this with an air cooler is really missing the point of the case (not that you can't air cool it, but it's just not what it was designed for).
I've had a couple Lian Li over the years and it's great to see them entering the mid-range market.

  • @XFourty7
    @XFourty7 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Hey Steve, I understand and have loved why you do the realistic / average approach to what you'd do with a product, in this case the reasoning for the 3 fan limit choice... However, this case makes me think you should consider (if worth the extra time) doing a second approach as a "What would Steve do", eg; What would you do if you were buying this case for a build.
I think this because the $130 pricetag makes it a good choice on a budget / for the average builder, but I am actually going to buy this and I will have one radiator for CPU AIO, but I will still fill the remaining fan slots (at least 6). Even though the case is cheap, there's so much you could do with it, and it's cheap because it's barebones. Just a thought man!

@@SalemaPsy I went with the MSI Frozr L (with two push/pull fans) and a sheet of paper will just fit between the cooler and the glass side panel. I don't know how you could go any taller without it touching the glass. The Scythe Mugen 5 Rev.B (154.5 mm) and the Scythe FUMA Rev.B (149 mm) would probably be good options as well but I had trouble finding them for purchase. The black Noctuas are coming out in Q2 2019 and so they might have something then that looks good and fits. So far, we have no complaints about the Frozr L with two fans. It is very quiet and cooling is excellent on an i7-8700k, although I haven't overclocked yet. At stock I'm in the 20's at idel and 50's under heavy load. I currently have 3 front Noctua Chromax NF-F12 120mm front intake and 1 bottom intake. I plan to fill it up with fans once the new chromax are out in a few months, but right now I'd say that may only be for aesthetic reasons. With that current config the case is near silent at idle and just above silent at full load including an RTX 2060 3-fan Strix.

So, finally a 130$ case i'd buy without feeling bad about the price. Looks xtremely good, looks like it's really well designed (love the way they designed the glass retention), and it has solid air cooling performance even tho it was designed for liquid cooling.
And as a plus it looks like mounting the GPU vertically is even better for overall thermals?
I might have finally found a case to replace my old (and ugly) carbide. Tho it might be a bit too wide for my desk.

  • @TubeYouDSilvy
    @TubeYouDSilvy 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Built my PC with this in Feb 2020. Very happy. But I have an answer as to why you might want space for two power supplies.
You bought a power supply (550w) that was perfect for your 2070 super / 3700x build - but in a year or two you’re thinking about upgrading to a Zen3 and a sweaty 3080ti or 6900xt and you might need a little more juice to power the machine.
Instead of buying a brand new 850w power supply to replace your underpowered unit, you could buy a 500w supply just for the GPU and save yourself some cash.

I do wish more companies made fan-less case variants. Corsair for instance makes probably the best RGB fans on the market but then only makes cases with fans pre-installed. It would be logical to offer a no fan variant so you could appeal to people who either already have nice fans they want to re-use or so you can push your own line of fans and undercut the competition on case price in the market segment of custom cooling customers.

The fans and case are sturdy enough that they are still straight and not sagging after more than a year of running.

I realize that for some reason you assumed that most people will only use 3 fans (although personally I feel like most people will eventualy try to buy additional fans, I mean - they don't have to be the most expensive Corsair fans if that is what you are worried about).
Anyway, a temp. number for all 3 intake from the bottom and from the side + exhaust fans on the top would be nice. You wouldn't even have to put it on your official case review chart if you don't feel like it, but using it all would be just as informative as selective 3 fans and definitely more satisfying.

I had to strap a fan to the back of my case with velcro to drop temps from 53c to 41c. They should at least cut one side of the bay off for ventilation and maybe let you mount a fan there.

I have had silverstone case and other brands and Lian Li is a whole other level. Well worth the money.

Just got this case and I really like it but i noticed some drawbacks.
    1. If fans installed at the bottom there is barely enough room to use bottom pins on the mobo
    2. I wish it had more USBs on the front.
    3. Quality of metal threads could be a little better

Would have loved to see a config with the CPU fan turned 180°, 1 intake top and bottom each, and 1 exhaust on the side...

9 fans. Three intake at the top, Three exhaust out of the bottom and rear. works wonderfully.

Reviews case meant for watercooling. Air cool it. Makes sense. Useless data, they have an air version coming out.

I wonder if anybody tought to use this case as desktop case, i mean putting the case vertically on the table and checked temp of GPU? Just mount feet on the side pannell and use it as desktop case. I guess you would get better temp on the GPU. And you might mount 2x80mm fans on the back for extra exhoust. I don't know how it will work, but worth to try.

$130 on Newegg actually sounds reasonable compared to what I've seen out there.
I wish they had found a way to add more USB slot plates elsewhere on the back so those who want tons of USB ports without using a USB hub.
I know it wouldn't have been as neat with cabling, but I bet they could have sold USB header cables that were extra long.
