I love you videos, i spend like 1350 a month on clubs, and Patreon, and i truly believe, I've learned more from u than all that shit combined, keep it up pimpin, i really appreciate it!
hey thanks for the content! i just received my lions mane LC from you and got an extra culture for morel which is something i really wanted so thanks for that! great video for those of us just getting into mycology.
Gary, nice job! I haven’t commented since early videos but I’ve kept up and you’re doing a great job. Your breeding projects give my Mycology professors a run for their money. You’re doing an amazing job with explaining and happy to see you and your partner rocking it in Sedalia. It might be helpful in future breeding projects to hold a black piece of paper behind petri dishes so we can see but that video was great and so is this one 🍄❤️
Yo Gary you rock man!! Thank you for all your diligent work, the Amazon shopping list is super on point. 🤙I am very much looking forward to learning more about TC. Mush Love from wayyy Northern California 🍄💗🤙
Very nice and organized setup you have & that imprssive flow hood ,but considering the price tags on them and especially one that size. Better do more than look good lol they are insanely expensive. I found one about the size of a small microwave for a couple hundred dollars ,but it's probably closer to the size of a small toaster. Those that only have the slots for two slices of bread. I'm only about 7-8 months into Myco or the study of fungi ,but I feel into the rabbit hole aft. finding it really interesting. So while researching & taking in as much knowledge that's available ,preparing for my new hobby lol
I prefer glass petri dishes, because you can reuse them. I sterilize them in an UV light chamber before use. Anyways, great wrap up of your equipment. :)
Hello. What is the name of the software you use that makes the labels and QR codes? I saw it in a video, but can't seem to find it. Thanks for the content.
Im not sure we have changed so many times over the years - right now we work with a third party media company but we have used free qr code websites in the past with good results. Also Fivr is good for freelancing this type of work.
I was looking at the specs of cadco burners, the one i saw was 1500W, and the manual for the prestp 23 qt for example recommends 2000W-2200W. I was just wondering if you knew how many watts your model was and if it gets up to pressure alright
Yes I use the same one - it works great and it doesn’t require 220V - I will eventually upgrade to a larger autoclave when the demand is there - right now I like how I can load up 4-5 cookers, let them all go one after another on two burners under one 120V circuit.
cool! Ill throw some links on the fruiting room gear - I usually get the boxes from uline or second hand from veggie people but Ill see what I can find
The sprayers designed for hairstylists have the finest mist of all. They also have a completely different pumping mechanism that is basically a hand-powered aerosol can.
Hi, I am glad to have found your Website, in one of your earlier Postings your were talking about Porcini and Chanterelles cloning, what became of it, did you get them to fruit under Trees in the Outdoors ?
Hello, i have a serious question. I live in Arkansas. I have been fascinated with mycology my whole life but didn't get into it and start really setting up anything until about 3 or 4 months ago. I have been buying up all types of things to prepare for a small grow. I have inoculated 5 bags of grain spawn over the last week. It's starting to show growth already, and man, I'm so excited. If i drive up to Colorado, can i come check out your grow to get some ideas, pretty please? I can pay you a little something for the tour, and maybe i can help you around some with your work. Whatever it takes to get you to let me kick it with you for an hour or two. What do you think?
thanks for reaching out we are planning to have farm tours in the spring - right now it is a mess with construction putting in electrical and end of season chaos ha
We have a local “science” store here in town - they are pricey but anything pyrex will hold up long term. Also, check your local university at the end of the semester they usually purge old lab gear very cheap - Ive found some good deals that way 👍 ULINE has nice nalgene bottles that work well too for good prices just make sure they are rated pp5 or better
Great video! Hey i recently read something about cleaning with isopropyl, it's supposedly not good at killing spores, do you know of something that is? i also read that hydrogen peroxide is good at killing spores so i might try that.
I use “sanidate” it is peroxide and acetate and works well without residue - peroxide works well too 👍 make sure you use 70% iso - spores are tough, which is why I use bleach 🙂🍄❤️
@@FreshfromtheFarmFungi Thanks good to know, do these evaporate after a while or do i have to wipe them of or something? And are the fumes more or less safe?
Hey Gary..I got the MAc 10 flowhood from modular cleanrooms in Denver. Any idea where i can get a cover/hood thing to attach to the front of it? im referring to those clear panels that go out from along the side and overhead to stop me from breathing all over my work..thank you gary .. im getting stuff from your amazon store right now
I would reach out to them they may know where to find one - Mine is from air science global in Florida but it came with the unit - You could always rock a face shield too 👍
I'm sure 99.9% alcohol is just as good as staying on the surface long enough to sterilize the area. If you're worried just spray heavier if that's all you have. It's not like you're spraying it on porous surfaces anyways.
It’s not just as good though. 99% coagulates the proteins in the cell wall and prevents further penetration into the cell. That’s why 70 percent is used.
Hey, I could really use advice from a real mycologists. I think I’ve found a new method of inoculation as well as a new medium for live culture. I believe this could innovate the field so this brings some concerns about credit. Where should I publish or post this information? I’m just a citizen scientist I don’t have a background in this so I’m not able to write a full research paper but I’ve written the thesis, method, results & discussion and conclusion. Any help here would be greatly appreciated and thank you so much for the content.
I blame NY state public education and myself but thanks for the correction - learning something new every day as I am not a great public speaker - honing these skills is harder than it looks 🙂🍄❤️
Could also be leary or alternatively leery which also means suspicious or wary. Weary actually means tired. Either way I see that particular mistake is super common and is usually made due to however it was learned, right or wrong. 😊
Soo disappointed to hear an Amazon plug from the get go. Is there really no alternative to laziness? Amazon are a disgusting company, shame on people who support them.
@@FreshfromtheFarmFungi yeah I hate it but I get it, they really do have a monopoly. The general content of your video was excellent though, maybe your best yet. 👌
"It can withstand a 4' drop... it's a pretty remarkable product". Too funny bro. Keep up the good work. You're the man.
Thank you very much Gary, for sharing this video with us which shows us the materials needed for a Mycology lab.
Excited to see tissue culture work. Thank you for sharing!
Playing with tissue culture is on my 2022 to do list. I will be following your lead 👀
Hahaaa I love that homie just drops the burner like “fk it man, I ain’t got time for reshoots around here” 🤣 fkn love this channel.
Thanks!

My favorite new toy is a sous vide set up. Useful for a holding agar at 125°F so I don’t have to rush.

Thanks for all the information. I've been getting supplies stocked up.

I have never had any issues with this sprayer
Pour my first slants this week! They did not stay put, first time my agar turned to Jell-O shots 🙃
Thanks for this, this the perfect checklist!
nice! make sure the agar is completely dissolved before aliquoting to the slants that’s my number one mistake 😆
Where did you get the laminar flow box? I can’t seem to find one that size.
Hi, I am glad to have found your Website, in one of your earlier Postings your were talking about Porcini and Chanterelles cloning, what became of it, did you get them to fruit under Trees in the Outdoors ?
I have some mycelium patches but they have not fruited - I did clone them successfully and ran them on sawdust and then planted outdoors

@Angela carter alright, I'll reach out to him immediately to get some

What are the dimensions of your flow hood?

$8.99 for a 16oz of 70% iso!!! You damn well better be getting a commission from Amazon.
I was paying 15$ at one point with 2 week lead time 🤦♂️
