just watched your viddie while screwing around on the internet. You've got your work cut out for you with a niche channel, but i really like your style and delivery. Good content. I'm subscribing and wish you good luck with all your goals for this channel. Cheers.
@BlurredOutBoy hey up fella! Thanks very much mate, you're spot on! The reason none of the other guys have bothered is because there's just not enough peeps only interested in the Bentley Continental GT. When I bought mine I found loads of content but no continuity at all and that made it difficult to really understand the subject. Hard to believe but mine is the only dedicated channel for the GT. Staggering! Anyway it's not about money for me, I just get a kick out of it. Thank you very much for your support and kindness, really appreciate it mate. Just done my Christmas special, half pissed because I'm bottling up home made mead for Xmas presents and there was a bit left. One take, should be fun. Probably regret this lol
An American here, I remember the first time I saw one of these, I had no idea what it was, but absolutely loved it. I have always loved the "personal luxury" American cars from the 60s/70s - Lincoln Marks, Cadillac Eldorados, Buick Rivieras, Oldsmobile Toronados; the Continental reminds me of these cars. I am close to retirement, and realize I can afford a used one, adn the upkeep. I went to look at a 2007 GTC ( I definitely want a convertible, even though the hardtop is way better looking), and was taken aback some by the styling. It looked a bit old-fashioned and stodgy in a way like many Jaguar sedans (unlike the very sleek and elegant Jaguar coupes). I do think the latest generation of Coninentals is the best looking yet, yes, perhaps because it looks less British and more American. Really, I wish Lincoln and Cadillac would make cars that are in this same style for a fraction of the price, the same way they've made a world-class sports car with the Corvette.
@louisxiiii hi Louis, ahh you got me. I kinda like the old fashioned touches, I'll admit it. Thank you very much for your comment my friend, I hope your journey takes you towards a GTC and that you enjoy many happy years with her. All the best. Nige
Loving these videos, working my way through them after buying a 2008 GTC a few weeks ago. Loving it so far, found a slight issue with some frayed seam on the soft top but I'm sorting that this week. Keep up the great work, it's really appreciated
Absolutely great , honest and informative video. I have exactly the same mindset! I was lucky enough to have a Mercedes s class similar feel but then managed to test drive a Bentley Gen 1 and wow you are so right it is just so so good.
Agree on the preference for the lines of the Gen 1 or 2 against the new ones. They are getting more angular. But it would be nice to have those fancy headlamps, the B in the hubcap that always stays in the same place and perhaps a rotating Infotainment panel.
@michaelhorton9583 Hi Michael, agreed mate. The rotating panel is very cool indeed. You never know, some enterprising chap might make face-lift lamps for the gen1/2 one day, they are rather swankey!
Love that Gen of Bentley Continental, I was truly in a quandary of whether to buy one of these or an Aston Martin DB9, I was on my way to test drive a Conti when I dropped in past a garage that had a DB9 for sale, had a test drive & fell in love with it straight away! Maybe I need to have a drive a Bentley to get it out of my system! Beautiful car Sir!👍👏👏👏♥️
Yup, the Gen 1 is the best styling (by a designer who, I believe, previously designed the Skoda Fabia!). A lovely car, good that you're enjoying yours. And very nice surprise to see Oliver's Mount, as Scarborough was my home for 20+ years 👍
@AndySnap Hi Andy thanks very much for taking time to comment mate, yup Scarbados is a little gem, not my home town but I've been here 45 years so they've stopped turning the music off when I go into the pubs now so that's great lol. Have you got a GT or are you just interested at the moment?
Before I retired, I was doing industrial roofing, we did Blackburn Rover football club, and the Cycle Stadium in Manchester those were 2 of the jobs we did before I retired, as a boss
@Bentley on a Budget Can you make a video or give some information how to change the oil in the gearbox ,what filter and oil did you use ? I own mine since 3 years {2008 GT} ,like you I'm a working guy ,not talented in fixing but I have a good Indy who is fair to me ,also let me buy the parts. Currently 72000 miles I drove her 24000 in these 3 years just did regular maintenance. Now I had to replace the vacuum lines I was hoping that it never happen to me but I was prepared. Having a 2008 the repair could be done taking the steering rack out ,cost was $ 2700
@ulflei hi, the gearbox oil service was done by my mechanics but the procedure was very specific. If you buy a proper ZF kit with the gaskets, seals and magnets in it it tells you what you need to do. I'll see if anyone else has actually filmed the process and let you know. Nige
@raymondhather632 I'm a tiling plumber Raymond, I build lovely new bathrooms. Getting harder as I get older as I work alone but it's work I love to do :) how long have you been retired and do you find it hard not to be on the tools?
Good videos Nige. Precisely targeted at owners such as me. Owning one of these is certainly an experience. ! I'm 2 years in owning my 2005 with 60k on the clock. Just had it remapped. Tesco Momentum fuel was recommended but i'm going to cease this, it don't seem to like it! Switching back to V Power or BP Ultimate. What u running yours on?
@kellygerman8709 hi Kelly, thanks for your kind words, much appreciated. My last tank was Total and it seemed very sweet on that, can't remember the name but it starts with an E lol. I also recently added an injector cleaner given the state of the plugs I pulled out and that seemed to help too. Would you consider subscribing if you haven't already? Fit a big audience but I'm struggling like mad to justify the time at the moment. Nige :)
Hi Nigel. Yep already subscribed pal and just commented on your Gearbox video as i had an issue with mine. Thankfully 95% sorted now. Anybody considering buying one of these cars should deff watch your Vid's. They are really good. Keep em up. Also for existing owners such as me, great hints and tips on the functions of everything. I had a mis behaving rear window when I global closed. After watching your vid on window recalibration, all good. Thanks Pal. Gary (Kelly is my Mrs and I use her Google account 😊)
While I don't have any car I regret selling the one I miss the most (don't laugh) is my old Peugeot 106d. But I think that is because it reminds me of a particularly good time of my life. I do however regret selling my Kawasaki Z1300-6 Stunning machine.
What great advice about taking consideration of your partner, you don't get that advice in the normal buyers guide. One thing more expensive than running an old Continental is a divorce. I will take your advice, which means I will have wait until the Bentayga is £20K as she seem to only like suvs..
@davidlees2431 Hi David, thanks very much and yes, you're quite right there! Never been in a Bentayga but I've heard good things. I would have another Rangerover but probably an older one. Despite the reliability problems they really do drive like nothing else (on stilts). Have ab great day :)
@GOLDFOLDS1 good for you mate, English reserve and what have you. Always been a big fan of the American spirit, particularly Jack Daniels lol but seriously thank you for commenting my friend, much appreciated :)
I just bought a Bentley Continental GT
2012
Love it every bit of it
The best choice I made

Hi can one ask what is the car insurance for your Bentley, please,
@raymondhather632 hi Raymond, I live in north Yorkshire, park on the road and am over 50. I pay around £750 a year
