- The 2019 St Louis Ballroom Couple Skating Competition was held on July 26, 2019 at Skate City Roller Skating Rink in East St. Louis, IL. Ballroom Skating was created in St. Louis, Mo and the style is being learned all across the world.

The intimacy is exceptional to a point that it doesn’t feel like PG13 anymore. Gliding smoothly in complete unison oblivious to their surroundings. They seem to be in a state of euphoria, truly amazing.
And then, the post game commentary didn’t differ much from a football game and helped me snap right out of it.

there's some pretty amazing coordination on display here, all these groups of two people skating as one.

I'm from St Louis and I'm used to this style of skating. I was so confused when I moved away and people weren't skating like this in the east coast lol

What I love most about this is that it's impossible to maintain a hard exterior on roller skates...
How is this NOT an Olympic event? The synchronization required is on such a intuitive deep level that I don't see this any other place! Maybe they should create the Olympics of the ProCreator-Children.
Probably because it’s very soulful and very rooted in blk culture I’m guessing. We should make our own olympics. One category for each region cause each place skates so differently.

Awwww I am so jealous. I loved to skate as a teenager. All our rinks are gone. I love this. I never learned how to skate so graceful but I loved skating.
