no,you would not..Once you learn how to skate under control,YOU control your experience,and you body will respond in kind...One of my mentors i see all the time is 80+,dances,skates,and tons of other things...Bill is down there in ATL,also 80+,etc,etc...

This is what I grew up with. Screamin' Wheels, Gary/Miller, Indiana. 25-cent entry fee? The bus came and picked us up and dropped us off. Good times, gooood tiiiimes.

This was so much fun to watch. I always wanted to learn to skate but...my fear of falling always kept me on the sidelines. Still, I think I'll grab the opportunity to learn if we ever get out of this COVID lockdown...but I sure will need someone to hold on to! 😊
Buy protection, it makes you a lot less afraid of falling. I do it with ice skating too

I use to skate every Saturday when I was younger! Lost touch with it and now I wouldn’t touch it for fear of breaking something! I spectates now! Much safer!

I used to skate many, “MANY” decades ago...the all night skate there was the bomb.
My old roller skating days have been put to shame big time...who’d ever think it could ever look this good though.

Man... I grew up in Pittsburgh PA and growing up there was never any need to talk about getting exercise because this is what we did for fun! Roller skate, bicycle riding, dancing, and to this day, even as I am about to turn 55 next month, I still hula hoop! 🙌 Now if I could only get back to doing all the other things, I’d have a slamming body 😂

Good times, good music, I liked it when the super large group was doing some synchronised dancing, whilst the others skated around. Mr blue cap individual skater at 2.50 was so good his slides were entertaining and his spinning (without head turns) were insane!

I’m from Brooklyn too!!!! I skated at Empire all the time!! Didn’t skate like these guys in this video but I’m glad I learned to skate! The first year I skated was 1996 and the last year I skated at Empire was 2006. I didn’t find out until 2011 that Empire closed in 2007, which I find heartbreaking. Now, I have to find a rink where I’m at.
I didn’t know everyone was still skating in 2020 I thought skating was done with I love it I could sit here and watch it all night

Used to skate every Sunday on R&B Night's , We did this skating sooo much fun! Miss it , all our rinks have shut down hoping one day they reopen " That's where I'll be "!!! 😎🎵🎶🎼🎵🎶🎼
This is wild. I grew up roller skating from like 87-1996. I artistic skated, but hung out at the rink for fun ALL the time. There was a huge jam community back then (I didn't even know it had a name. My parents called it roller disco.) Friday and Saturday nights there'd be groups of guys with the matching jackets and outfits, all busting out MOVES. One other dude I will never forget, he was there at least 5 days a week. As many public skates as possible, back to back, all day, and he'd wear a different "sparkly elvis" outfit every time. I don't know what else to call it- he'd have capes and bellbottoms and all kinds of crazy shit. It was rad and it's awesome that it's still happening and it's gotten even bigger and wilder.
