Great job man! Thanks for this video! It could be great for next driving videos with manual cars to fix a camera on the pedalbox to watch more footworks please. ;)
So in this case, for the Type R doing a hill start, you would use the brake hold right? Not the electric handbrake. I've stalled my car before on a steep incline parked up a steep ramp at a parking lot. I wasn't sure what I did wrong. Inching forward due to traffic on a steep ramp / hill is my biggest fear right now. What will you recommend?
In the Type R is super easy because it has auto hold (usually all cars with electronic brakes have this function), the car will hold itself until you put pressure on the accelerator. With another cars without auto hold, it's best to use the hand brake to assist you.
Also, i'd like to know if it's okay to start the car in 2nd gear when going downhill. Will that cause unnecessary wear on the gear? I've just seen other people do it. Wasn't sure if it's a good idea.
Is it ok to rest your heel on the floor when letting the clutch out? I do this but a lot of other videos online have people hovering their left foot in the air when letting it out.
I don't think this matter that much tbh, just do whatever you feel most comfortable and able to release the clutch smoothly. I have my heel on the ground so it acts as a pivot, I find it easier this way 🙂
Thanks so much. This is how I do it as well but seeing a few other TH-camrs hovering their heel in the air I worried I was doing it wrong all this time 😂. It might be a foot size thing. Not sure. Thanks for the advice. Great video.
Interesting...Even though I have never saw all this "special skills" in action :) I made my drivers license on a stick shift in 2007.
Nice one, you must be a veteran?

Ya, that's a good ifldea, we will try that next time, thanks, are you just starting to drive a manual?
@@sundaymorningdrives Great, thank you very much! ;) No, but it's still interesting to watch this in cars videos. ;)

Starting in 2nd gear down hill is totally fine 🙂
