I have the 4.25 as well and I run a holosun 507k it matches the slide width perfectly. Also most issues with this fire arm has been the 5 inch model it has been known to be under sprung. I have 1820 rounds and 0 failures
I used the 10-8 performance slide stop. Made both of mine lock up better/fit tighter and is made out of tool steel. Both of mine came with 12lb or 13lb recoil springs.
Just got one (4.25) last week. 200 rounds so far no failures. However she felt sluggish outta the box. I racked her like 1000 times before firing her and quite a bit of black shit was oozing out the back. Eventually that resistance went away then I brought her to the range and had no issues.
The recoil spring on the 4.25 prodigy is 12 pounds and the hammer spring is 24 pounds on it I have mine with a Steiner MPS red dot and it works great and I am running staccato magazines on mine not a fan on the duramags that come with the prodigy nice video bro 👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Phenomenal review ! What a smooth action man I wish my Glock was that flawless. Can you feel a noticeable difference between the aluminum body vs the steel ? And weight wise would you say one has better target acquisition ???
You can definitely tell the difference in weight between this and the Staccato but the weight also kinda helps with recoil so I like it heavy. Staccato has better target acquisition for sure LOL!!!
@@SafetySteves one last question (like one last beer) I just remembered I wanted to ask. Do you know if a tooless guide rod can be put in the prodigy to get around the 2 piece disaster that they put in it from the factory? Seems awful inconvenient to have to carry around an Allen key just to field strip your firearm.
Its been shown again and again these are not always reliable out of the box. Seems like break in is crucial for this weapon. I want one I just cannot afford it if were being honest. Can you give us an update a year later hows tbis thing doing your experience?
@@SafetySteves maybe but after I pay $1600 (MSRP) for a pistol I’m not spending time and money tinkering with it for a few hundred dollars more I can get a Bul Armory or save and get a staccato

Awesome. I'll definitely go check that out. Thank you.
Did your slide stop require any fitting?

@Hugo Yes Dawson Precision makes a tool-less guide rod for it!!!!
@@SafetySteves awesome! Thanks, you the man!

Absolutely!!!! so far it has ran like a dream. definitely needs a good break in.
The Springfield 4.25 comes with a 12 lbs spring factory. The 5 inch version comes with a 9 lbs spring. Great video though.
Gotcha!!!! Thanks for the info 👍
🍕🤙
Just picked up mine and it came with three mags
That's awesome. Have fun and be safe!!!
New trigger, magwell and recoil spring. After parts and labor I’d rather buy something else
Still cheaper than a Staccato LOL 😆

@O’Ceaser I hear ya brother. I have both so..... LOL 😆
@@SafetySteves mind you I’m not putting down the Prodigy- I have one in my cart I’m debating on but I plan to get a Staccato P in a few months.
@@oceaser6977 You will LOVE the Staccato !!!!
