Currently I am 54 years old. I heard this performance when I was in high school, sitting in the fifth row from the front. At that time, I couldn't understand Wayne's playing at all, and I felt that Dave was easier to listen to. However, when I listen to it again, Wayne's improvisation is so amazing that I have listened to it many times. In particular, Wayne's improvisation on "India" is so amazing that I am moved by it. It's true that Dave plays theoretically and fluidly, but there was something different about Wayne.
I live in Noborito, and from my roof top, I can see the ferris wheel of Keio Yomiuriland where this show took place. I did not attend that show, but saw Waybe at the 1990 summer "Select Live Under the Sky" concert, (and other outdoor events) remembering names such as Larry Coryell, Herbie Hancock, Milton Nascimento, David Sanborn, Dorival Caymmi, and Pat Metheny. It is hard to believe so much time has passed since then.

While I love this (thank you very much), it seems to me that Dave Liebman was the group's leader in this gig.
shows the unselfishness of Wayne!
That is really not important. It is a tribute effort. Just enjoy it
No leaders - just top-tier musicians who are having a blast together
I think this place got turned into an amusement park...at least according to google map...
It used to be inside an amusement park but closed in 2013. Aumusement park is still there.
