Arlecchino's VA did SUCH a good job in the last meeting with him. I never skipped his dialogue as he expressed his deranged emotions in such a relatable way, surprisingly. I loved Pulcinela's kind voice as well and when he cracked telling of his love of his master. I love those two. Keep up the good work!
Yes. I thought of template called Batman boy. When writing a character in your story the Batman boy or girl is a person who loses their parents to a killer at a young age and that person inherits a fortune that they use to become an influential and powerful character later in their life.
The animations of Pulcinnella while talking about Vengini are so simple yet heartbreaking. In the game the Npcs heads track you but Puchi is the only one who can look away. Looking over at Venigini as if he's making sure he's okay, and then looking up at the ceiling as if he's holding back tears.
Arlecchino was such a stand out character just because of how well his VA performed his role. Love the King of Riddles, though that didn't stop me from killing him when presented the option. Wasn't even out of hatred despite the fact he was a mass murderer. I just saw the option pop up after exhausting his dialogue and thought, 'ok'. I also suspected that Pulcinello was another awakened puppet after learning such a thing was possible through Polendina. It's neat how Pulcinello was played off as a simple NPC till we finished Vegnini's quest where he finally made his admission. Given Vegnini's history with Arlecchino, it made perfect sense. Looking forward to more Lies of P content, especially when the DLC comes out.
Loved this analysis, really loved the Italian drama inspirations in this game, and while pulcinella and Arlecchino aren’t the same as their originals, they maintain a familiar, fascinating character dynamic
I was watching Pluto recently, and Arlecchino seems to be a direkt reference to BRAU 1598, from being the first puppet to murder a human, to the position he's pinned down with a spear in an isolated room
I absolutely adore this game and would love to make more content around it. It's tough because TH-cam won't boost that content since they've placed us strictly in the Elden Ring niche
Brilliant analysis! I’m just finishing my first playthrough of this game and the complexity and humanity of the story is so intriguing. I studied commedia dell’arte in college for my musical theatre degree and this is spot on. Thank you!
Once again, another awesome Lies of P lore dive. imho STG is doing the best Lies of P content on YT right now.... keep up the outstanding work! You have my support!
Hope you guys make Lies of P lore videos again and maybe even make some on Lords of The Fallen. I know Lords of the Fallen hasn’t been as successful as Lies of P or traditional FormSoft games but it’s lore is really interesting in my opinion and is worth giving attention to
Not sure if it matters, but pretty sure we can find a letter I'm fairly certain was written by Arlecchino before he was locked away. Early into Rosa Isabelle we can find a bloodstained "Artists Doodle". "Puppets are the most beautiful of beings. Even their human masters are incomplete beings in comparison. Creations more perfect than their creator. The creator who created them. Which would you praise more?" With the disdain for humans, the stains of blood, the stylized question, and how Arlecchino refers to himself as an Artist, all point that this was his work.
I deeply enjoy the deep dive into the lore of these types of games. It gives me a way to enjoy the story they are trying to tell since i struggle with this type of gameplay.
Finally some more in-deep lore videos for specific characters. Most Lies of P videos just rehash the story and that's it. Coming from Elden Ring lore hunting, this feels superficial and quaint. So I'm very happy you go more into detail. I hope to learn more about Gemini in the future. He processes our Ergo, seems to have been a human, and we find the lamp in a puddle of blood. Hm.
Can you do more lore of P because after I finished my first playthrough , I have so many questions about the game lore , like who really is gemini and what are his ties to Sophia and the Legendary Stalker ? , Lore about Ergo too and what ties it to the petrification disease ? Is the Carlo we see at the end really a resurrected human ? Or a puppet made from a corpse ? Or is it the nameless puppet + P’s heart ?
I would really love to dedicate more time to a Lies of P series but Elden Lore is basically the lifeblood of the channel. I can really only do lies of p when I have some extra time. That said any chance I get to write about lies of p i will take.
Great content! And You've got to admit the VA in this game is on a high level but Arlecchino's VA is in a league of his own! These little breaks and how he savours his stories You could feel he enjoyed every atrocity down to the very lasy drop of pain he caused! 😵💫
How are you not going to point out the direct inspiration from Pluto on arlecchino it's like a 1 to 1 on him being pinned to the wall by a spear both were the first robots to kill
I hope we can get a Lore of P about Gepetto, or of Simon Manus. Also I'm curious of Archbishop Andreus. Was he Simon's test subject? Ik in some of Archbishop's dialogue he quotes loving gold and being greedy. And after his death he regrets being as greedy as he was. Perhaps he let Simon do tests on him in exchange for a lot of money? I'm also curious of who the legendary stalker is. We know Carlo & Romeo asked for her help. We also know its a female, and the animal kind of resembled a rabbit... But I only saw one ear, but it was at an angle. Stalkers are generally orphans, but maybe the black rabbit brotherhood's mom is a legendary stalker?
Arlecchino is also modeled as a reference to the anime/manga Pluto which had the first robot who murdered a human and was left impaled like jesus and the lance that killed him
Hey square, I see you doubled back on elden ring lore videos after making 3 for lies of p maybe because shadow of erdtree coming or because they get more views as of now but I would urge you to reconsider. While elden rings lore is rich and the game while probably have a sequel it’s story is well played out and a sequel will not come for a couple years atleast. Lies of p on the other hand still has much to be fleshed out like more understanding of laxasia for example. Lies of p also has the overstory being created above the main game with Paracelsus involvement as the hidden master alchemist pulling many strings, part of a organization to be fleshed out in future games. Speaking of which lies of p is confirmed on track for a sequel I would bet will come out before elden 2 and will possibly involve a new fairy tale like wizard of oz to deepen a larger story of evils quest for immortality and power. The potential of this series is huge and over time lore videos on P will come to rival if not surpass elden ring in popularity because the lore is so much more relatable being rooted in old stories and characters many know instead of a random created fromsoft story that’s impeccable but just another story at the same time. Lies of p is taking assasin creeds Desmond and the battle for memories over the top of the assassin story concept on a whole new level while bringing us into beloved stories of childhood with an awesome dark twist like final fantasy all wrapped up with cutting edge superb fromsoft combat the best parts of 3 god overlords of the gaming industry. Lies of p and it’s future is the place to put your eggs my friend i hope you read this
we didn't double back so much as had a tight schedule. While creating our Lies of P videos we never stopped making our weekly Elden Lore content. I would love to make more videos about the world of Lies of P but the time constraints of life don't really allow it at the moment. Rest assured, I'd love to revisit this series if possible in the future.

I love the parallels between Vanigni and Bruce Wayne. Pulcinella is Alfred, Arlecchino is like a robot Joker/Riddler.

arlecchino is more like brau 1859 from Pluto.
@@gundamboi2244 yes! Down to the wound to the chest. Strange when i witnessed that.

actually is Pulcinella, not Pulcinello.
Loved this analysis, really loved the Italian drama inspirations in this game, and while pulcinella and Arlecchino aren’t the same as their originals, they maintain a familiar, fascinating character dynamic
I just found out that Pulcinella is voiced by Peter Davison who played the 5th doctor in Doctor Who from 1981-1984.
I was watching Pluto recently, and Arlecchino seems to be a direkt reference to BRAU 1598, from being the first puppet to murder a human, to the position he's pinned down with a spear in an isolated room
Ohhh this is interesting. I love discovering inspiration and hidden references.
I'm sure someone allready commented this, but what about Camile, the first awakened one?
I wish you guys did more of this game
I absolutely adore this game and would love to make more content around it. It's tough because TH-cam won't boost that content since they've placed us strictly in the Elden Ring niche

Love the lore of this wonderful game!! I can’t get enough and playing the game on ng+9

If that's the case, you're definitely much more knowledgeable than me on the subject! It means a lot to know I didn't misinterpret anything.
its not who I am underneath, its what I do, define me
Once again, another awesome Lies of P lore dive. imho STG is doing the best Lies of P content on YT right now.... keep up the outstanding work! You have my support!
Thank you! We really appreciate that because there are bigger creators than us diving into this game
Hope you guys make Lies of P lore videos again and maybe even make some on Lords of The Fallen. I know Lords of the Fallen hasn’t been as successful as Lies of P or traditional FormSoft games but it’s lore is really interesting in my opinion and is worth giving attention to
ty for the video , i wasn't aware of any of the italian history behind this.
Yessss let’s gooo!!! Thanks for keeping me great company on long commute hours
Happy to!
Such great voice acting in this game!
Exactly the video I needed now, thank you! Gonna lay back, enjoy and then think about Lies of P for the rest of the day
You've become one of my favorite channels. Your storytelling is relaxing and contemplative very appreciated for a nice evening to unwind 😊
Thank you!

Ah, the beauty of well done voice acting
For real. Incredible performances across this game.
I want to know about them too + who is Gemini really other than being just a talking lamp , he is more than that .
Finally some more in-deep lore videos for specific characters. Most Lies of P videos just rehash the story and that's it. Coming from Elden Ring lore hunting, this feels superficial and quaint.

Pulcinella is a pimp.
Thanks man

Hadn't seen this comparison before! It seems very blatant now haha
Right down to the Hannibal lector-like speeches they have about society and murder I immediately saw the similarities and screamed
