At least when it comes to art in Lake Sebu!
Get ready to see a "shining example" of Filipino ingenuity here in South Cotabato...
I won't be surprised if you have heard of the Tboli "Dreamweavers". Using an intricate weaving device and their hands... these women create incredible designs known as "T'Nalak". Many designs are literally based from their dreams. It is another beautiful example of the artistic wonder you can find here in the Philippines! If you didn't know, a T'Nalak, is actually three "Denoli" (smallers pieces of weave) put together into one larger design. The word T'Nalak literally translates to "make it wide".
These weavers are famous... as they should be! And it is so wonderful that YOU can come and visit them in their home/weaving centre.
Okay... I was already beyond impressed with the way the weaves are created! But then I asked the Grandson of the late National Living Treasure Boi Lang Dulay:
"What about the guys? Do they weave too?"
That was when he showed me the "smacki"...
AND THAT IS WHERE I HAD A BECOMINGFILIPINO FAIL!

Thanks for showing us this place and their traditions and craftsmanship. Their children are lucky to be taught to become the future weavers. Love the lake and the Tboli way of life and it’s really nice of them to allow guests a chance to fully immerse themselves and get to experience the Tboli way of life.
It’s about time Filipinos become more culturally involved and awaken to preserve the heritage. Kulas, with all sincerity, thank you for all that you do.
I think for me Mindanao has more culture than the rest of the region in PH.
Its not that they have more culture. Its more of they were able to retain their culture until now. People from Luzon especially in manila are embrassing other culture (kpop, american etc) than ours 👍
The tribes in the Northern Philippines also retain their culture.
They make beautiful things and their boats are awesome 😊

That's ok Kulas... We commit mistakes even to the point of breaking donation box... Can't stop laughing especially when it keeps on rewinding... I remember when the locals taught you how to climb the coconut tree and you were so eager to climb but at the middle you don't know if you are going down or going up and they said embrace the tree and so you did... That was so funny! Anyway thanks for the life update... T'Boli are known for their rich culture and arts from their music to their dances...

I hope you could also experience or visit the MANUBO TRIBE...it is located in North Cotabato like CARMEN KIDAPAWAN MATALAM.. Manubo tribe is the only tribe that is unknown in the Philippines..so im hoping that its you who can descover it and can show it to the world that we also do exist...thank you

I had a grand time staying at the School of Living Tradition in Lake Sebu for 3d/2n! Learned so much about the T'boli culture from Ms. Maria Todi. I've never had so much Tilapia in my life! 😂 I love their nelut onuk (chicken with lemongrass and ginger cooked in bamboo). Mindanao is very beautiful and the locals are very warm and hospitable! ❤️🧡
Im like "Hili" which means envy in english coz i want to see places in this country but i can do it right now bcoz of u kyle. Seeing places and learning the culture. Thank u kulas. Ingat!

Beautiful culture, sounds, people ànd the place. Thank you for featuring Southern Mindanao. That's one of the places I so long to visit. I come from the North. Many Igorots and Ilocanos have negative thoughts about Mindanao people. This is one good educational video amongst your many other educational videos to know about our brothers and sisters, down at the south.
