Nice video with clear explanations. I just recently disassembled a setup very much like this because the seats and springs on the cartridge were worn and causing a drip, and from that experience I would suggest putting a bit of anti-seize grease on the two long screws holding the face plate on and the small hex screw holding the handle on. Those things can get locked in there real tight. 10 years down the line someone will thank you for taking that little extra step when they have to disassemble things. 👍
Tim great video and you always do a good job explaining what's going on while you're doing your job, you did everything right, I usually install the new shower arm blow the system full throttle with water to remove any settlement and then I'll put a cap on the arm and pressure the system to make sure no slow dripping going on behind the wall because even a slow leak can cause destruction over time , but I'm working on wood framing 90 percent of the time. Just a suggestion Tim not really criticism because you did a great job it looks good. But I have also done this in the past where I leave a 1/2” brass cap on that bottom piece but what I’ve started doing is I’ll just soder on a cap now it gives me further piece of mind that there won’t be any leaks at all. But you’re way works great too that Teflon and pipe dope will hold. And I feel like the small nub on the top end of the valve seemed a bit short but it’s not too crazy pressurized water going through there and it’s only for about 10 minutes at a time so you’ll be fine but I get nervous when I have a small nub like that personally. But I always enjoy watching your videos Tim thank you for putting them out for us.
Oh, the dreaded bonnet nut. How dare you not grease that dang thing and the handle set screw!. Lol. Lastly, if I change out the shower arm, I always let water blow through it and clear it before I install a new head. Clear the debris. Looks good.
Thank you for doing a switch out with copper I keep finding new construction with Pex and I’m converting a tub to walk in shower with a house built in 80s with copper. This is exactly what I needed.
I am facing this issue- we are renovating the bathrooms, the constructors put new delta valve for the two bathrooms and the day after that we noticed kitchen cold tab is having warm/hot water. The constructors stated that he didn’t touch kitchen so it’s not his issue; but this only happened after he put on new valves for the new bathrooms, not they are still at demo stage, I don’t know how to find which valve is causing the issue
Want to replace a 32 year old delta shower setup with a new delta sandover kit, I'm thinking, especially after reading instructions for the tub spout that I need a real plumber.

I would’ve made the riser longer going out of the top of the shower valve. You had room to do that…
