- Former chancellor Jeremy Hunt reacts to his successor Rachel Reeves' accusation that there was a £22bn black hole in the public finances that he "lied" to the country about.
He says, "I think it's very disappointing that the new government is choosing to do politics this way."

Hunt is a renowned liar. He kept saying that the economy was going great but also saying it wasn’t, then circling back to say reform and cuts were needed.
We were all asking him and his party where the money was coming from for his projects, but he never explained it. Finding out he was using emergency funds tracks.
They should all be jailed for Treason against the people of this country.

@@Maksimszz It was working as a deterrent for a number of migrants. Those numbers decreased only when politicians kept frustrating the scheme. The Tories were foolish to have picked Rwanda; they should have chosen another country.

@@stevieframe well the OBR launching an investigation over what Reeves said hadn't been declared is an indication that the Tory treasury did not disclose everything they should have. Being the ex-chancellor the buck stops with Hunt - example 1.

Labour had sight of Treasury documents and staff for months before the election, the OBR reported on the fiscal position in March and just 4 days before she 'found' this £20 Bn she reported the spending budgets of EVERY department compiled by their Account Heads (ie civil Servants).
If people did not see documents it was not because they were hidden. Sunak gave Labour absolute access to any part of the Treasury. Its up to them to ask the right questions.

Jeremy Hunt cited the Institute of Fiscal Studies in his defence - but the director has just confirmed what Reeves is saying is true and it couldn't have been discerned from the outside. He lied.

I live in the uk I want to claim asylum in the uk so I get everything free
just remember people its supposedly cost labour gov £350 million to the settle the junior doctors pay deal but cause the tories dragged their heels over it, it actually cost the tax payer £1.7 billion. the winter fuel scheme cost £2.05 billion, if the tories had actually paid the doctors on the same time scale that labour did, labour might not have needed to cancel the winter fuel scheme.
The Tories did not drag their heels - they gave junior doctors a 9% rise last summer. Labour did not have to cancel the pensioners winter fuel allowance - they should have kept it instead of giving junior doctors another bumper pay rise.
She has the books and the records. Tories could call her bluff at any time but we all know they won't.

The idea that Liz Truss' party is still talking, and is outside prison, is what is "disappointing".

1)When, exactly, did Ms Reeves know the FULL extent of the country's finances?
2) If the Conservatives had won the election, when (if ever) did they intend to tell us the full extent of their "underestimating the risk" to the country's finances?
3) Why are they blaming Ms Reeves for withholding this information?
Looks very guilty to me and hunt should consider legal action if it not true no mention of that in that interview
