You know how the conversation would have gone off camera: I’m going to ask you a few awkward questions so I can’t be blamed of going easy on you, you stick to your script about difficult decisions, then we can have a chat about where we have been on holiday and how the family is.

We don't want those filthy commies sharing stuff equably - where would it all end?

      This is a great comment. Leadership should lead, by example, and action.
      Field Marshal Slim wrote in World War II: “As officers,” he wrote, “you will neither eat, nor drink, nor sleep, nor smoke, nor even sit down until you have personally seen that your men have done those things. If you will do this for them, they will follow you to the end of the world. And, if you do not, I will break you."

      Pensioners are surplus to requirements under Labour. The less of them the better as far as they are concerned. Once they have screwed the last penny out of the them then they are of no use anymore. Why didn't the interviewer ask the questions we all want to hear 'Why are you spending 1 billion on illegal migrants whilst screwing over the people that have doing the right thing all their lives?' I am not eligible for pension credit by a small amount. The truth is they would prefer me to die to save the UK government money, the UK has become one of those countries that have a very little value for human life. I worked all my life for this. Unfortunately these days the Labour Party voters are mostly the middle class trendy lefties and the equally middle class Public Sector Unions who are pretty well off themselves but believe themselves to be compassionate and “caring” for the less well off than themselves which is the reason they are so wedded to the Labour Party. The Party is no longer interested in the working classes whom they see as too nationalistic and racist so they are not interested in them. The pensioners as a general rule don’t vote Labour so hitting them won’t lose the Party any votes which is the reason that they have decided that they are the right group to try and save money et from so they hit them with the withdrawal of the winter fuel allowance. It is all very cynical and calculated but that is today’s politics for you. And if a few thousand pensioners don’t make it through the winter, so much the better. It saves the Government some money!

      This uproar over, richer pensioners getting this taken away, is frankly reducious. More focus should be on getting those eligible for pension credit signed up, but negative sells.
      When tax rises are coming for the working population, issue is debt is be racked up so, boomers get benifits today while current working generation are left to pay for it. But there be no money left for current 20 to 30 year olds when they retire, we will be lucky if there a state pension worth anything as we are expected to have contributed to private pension and if there not enough in it we be out of luck.

      You do know there are two different levels of pensions. I get the old state pension because I was born just before 1950. I should also point out that women did not receive anywhere near equal pay. The reason being “ men had families to support “, very sexist then.
      Your English isn’t good, so if you’re inferring that people didn’t pay in, please do remember wages were not as they are now. If you had to survive on the equivalent today and do the same type of employment. I can assure you, you would have no luxuries if bringing up a family.
      Yes, I worked, so don’t say shameful to me. That is highly insulting. I might add, that a lot of employment was manual and not everything was automated. So I’m going to lecture you. Coalmen lifting heavy cwt bags of coal on their shoulders all day, binmen lifting bucket of trash and ashes in the same way, farmers with picking done by hand, butchers cutting in their shops, carpenters with handsaws, vegetable men bakers, grocers with horse and carts, yes into the 1950’s. Do you get the picture, or do you need more. Shame on your judgement.

    • @viv1tony2
      @viv1tony2 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      I’ll just add on to my previous reply, there were miners, factory workers, both men and women, there were car manufacturers and steel works, ship building, in short, the government closed all these forms of employment and more and shipped them overseas where the price would be lower to produce. Remember there were no computers and not much available to replace the jobs lost.
      You’re pompous just now, how long before the immigrants take over for lower pay and your pension drops, either that or they will not work but you will. There were all types of employment that you obviously aren’t aware of that was lost. Even doctors and nurses learned on the job. Good Lord I could go on and on. You have no idea what the people on the old pension rate had to do for their pension and the changes they had to endure. My husband was a miner at one time and was in a mining disaster. It did affect him. He lost a few co workers. Don’t lecture on things you know nothing about.

      This is the problem with this or any other government that they do not assess average cost of living to households, based on number of people in that household, look up what banks use when looking at creditors income/outgoings called Trigger Figures. The government is penalising those who cannot claim pension credits because they are receiving let’s say £220 pw but this will take them less than £2.00 pw annually this is £104 making them £196 worse off. PENNY PINCHING OF THE HIGHEST DEGREE.
      The other idea is to start charging drivers per mile, so I assume that this will be based on when the annual MOT (for cars over 3 years old) especially as it appears the computer system for info on cars is probably the best the government have. Where will they get the info for the brand new cars I wonder

    This bloke is a waste of airtime. She could interview any member of the government and they'd give the same hopeless bland reply, making difficult hard decisions. This is meaningless, its not hard or difficult to make these decisions, as those who the decisions are aimed at are defenceless. This all smacks of spire and cowardice.
