That's not true. I would say that you definitely have it in you to start producing your own beats. A handy start would be to buy a groove box of some sort, I have a few Roland and Korg ones and I would recommend buying a second hand Korg Electribe EMX1 to start you off. It would give you hours of fun learning as in making your own drum patterns, getting familiar with programming your own beats and melodies together. If you got one and played it I'm definitely sure you would be pumping out beats in a very short time indeed. The Korg is only my suggestion as I'm sure other people out there have their preferences. Go for it and enjoy it and you definitely will be making beats. All the best!

While I don't have an original 909... I do have all of its patches in my Fantom 6. So today, all of my playing will be with patterns utilizing only the 909 kit! Happy 9/9, Claudio! Now get back to work on the new studio! :P
I can't afford a real 909 or 808, but I did buy an Elektron model Samples recently, and filled it full of various classic samples. I've been finding that 909s, 808s and linn Drums still hold up well today. Never thought that would be the case that I'd still be using them, but they fit better than most other things I've tried.

My first exposure to the 909 was seeing Adamski play live with nothing but an ensoniq keyboard and the 909.
As people get bored with the ubiquitious "trap music" maybe house and the 909 will make a big comeback.
