    I was only thinking about this the other day - maybe adding some gochujang paste.
    By the way anyone want a store cupboard hack - add gochujang paste to a tin of chicken noodle soup and poach some egg in it - different league.

    Edit: Okay, I got the star anise wrong and missed sesame oil, ginger and Asian herbs. Sesame oil?!? This I have to try. 🤭

    So often people forget that Middle East, India and even Turkey is technically part of Asia...

    • @WanTseLoh
      @WanTseLoh 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @hamida matin Yes I know this but I wouldn't say we don't use the same ingredients. A lot of merchants brought their ingredients along the spice trade from Middle East to South East Asia back in the days. Cuisines are very different I agree, that's the amazing thing about it but we do share similar ingredients and cuisines evolve over time. Example, tomatoes were originally from the new world but we use it across the globe now.

    Marion, I always wonder about something: We have "salça" in Turkey, and it is fermented either tomato or chili paste. Isn't it almost the same with "gochujang"? Do you have any idea about that?
    Also, I am familiar with the shakshuka and also "menemen". I thought first, this was a menemen! You can check it out on that as well :)

      Steam/ saute spinach and puree it, and substitute it for tomatoes.
      There's an Indian recipe called palak paneer ( cottage cheese in a spicy spinach gravy), this would be an egg version of that.
