I feel like Lucian is the most underrated character, even though he is regarded as one of the best. I feel like he was ALWAYS holding himself back, and was likely smarter than basically everyone around, though this may have just been due to Michael Sheen playing him. He is one of the absolute best, most dedicated actors out there, so maybe not a fair comparison.
I feel like in so many ways, Underworld did not realise what it had, and Lucian is one of the biggest examples. They obviously understood to some degree that they'd missed an opportunity with him, which is why they did Rise of the Lycans, but if they'd planned the series more in advance, Lucian could have been around even longer. He was already strong enough to survive a silver nitrate bullet. Those are supposed to kill even the strongest lycans in seconds. It crippled him, but from the look of it, if he hadn't followed Craven, he'd have recovered from the wound. Or if Reyes had just taken the gamble, and injected the wounded Lucian with Amelia and Michael's blood, Lucian might have become a hybrid. I think a way they could still salvage it in lore is that since Lucian had already injected Michael's blood, if a vampire elder's blood was injected into his corpse, or if Selene's was (when she's proven she can reanimate dead immortals), he'd resurrect as a hybrid. But I feel it's all just too late now.
It's pretty hilarious the great amount of times we see Selene in the rain. The director knew reaaaaaally well the quality that a completely wet Kate Beckinsale would provide to the movies 😅

There's no evidence that the vamp strain you get dictates your power, it's age and that's it, the virus doesn't weaken over time just as Michael wasn't weaker than Alexander just because he was many times his descendant or that he had a dormant strain, once it kicked in he became as powerful as he could ever be as were Markus and William as powerful as Alexander, only age separated them in power

I am glad Michael Sheen was involved in a vampire/werewolf franchise, like "Underworld", FAR better than "Twilight". Dude is an amazing actor who deserves better roles in horror movies

From what I've seen of Underworld, theres quite a number of different hybrid types: - Corvinus type which is Alexander, Marcus, William, and Michael - Corvinus Hybrid Born - Selene & Michael's daughter - Experimental Hybrid - The Super Werewolf and Marius - The Natural Hybrid - Lucien & Sonya's unborn child - Corvinus Enhanced - Selene & Super Werewolf's father (and that woman who tried to take over but died shortly after) One bit to note, Amelia was a member of the Nordic Coven. And while Viktor was considered one of the strongest vampires, I think we can all agree that Selene got lucky when she surprise-killed him, given that he took down Raze in Lycan form with ease and nearly killed Michael when Michael was fully transformed. And I do agree we need a film or at least tv series that details the events of Alexander, Marcus, William, Viktor, and Amelia from the events of when that plague hit to the end of the Lycan-Vampire war. Would be awesome to get that gap in the story unveiled.
When selene fought Victor she was definitely weaker but current selene is very powerful. She fought toe to toe with Marcus on his hybrid form and he is not slouch he has been around for ages. And like the majority of vampires they get stronger as they get older. Selene with corvinus enhanced and other world resurrection powers she can easily kill victor on his prime.
Viktor is such an interesting case in that had Selene not caught him off guard he would've won. Had Viktor not been so stuck-up and accepted hybridism he would've easily stomped most of the main cast. Hell he basically pimp slaps everyone to death besides Michael in his hybrid form. Had the plot not had him throwing people so much and just get down to business he would easily be a top contender.

Selene's new ability is almost like teleportatioon. In the fourth film, when she invades the werewolf building during the day, she already has super speed. She covers a good distance walking, after she gets out of the car.
In the first movie she moves so fast the humans cannot even follow her with their eyes, in the scene she saves Michael who was getting shot. Viktor also moves like he was teleporting when he kills the nobleman in the third movie. Michael "teleported" multiple times against Viktor.
Seline is ranked #1 due to amazingly strong plot armor and the gramps buff. It is debatable if the gramps buff and the coven blessings are part of the plot armor. Experts are still debating this. She was already an absolute badass prior to the aforementioned armor.

Isn't plot armour everywhere, even old literature and paganism. My only gripe is that they powered up Selene too quickly knowing that Michael was already the key character and made his unique Hybrid existence mundane in less than a week.

I think you might be a little off on the power scaling I think vampires do move superhuman speeds but you mostly see them Through The Eyes of other Supernaturals because in the second movie when Michael is being chased down by the police and Selene shows up to save him Selene is moving so fast it almost seems like she's teleporting according to the polices perspective

Im surprised Michael isn't on this list since he was considered the strongest hybrid early in the series and even at the end of the series he's still considered one of the most powerful characters in the franchise but since we only saw Michael in two movies really we didn't get to see enough of his power so it's makes sense why he's not on the list

Micheal has more screen time than everybody not named Selene, so we've seen him do more than everybody but her. He's even self resurrected in the second movie. But for the sake of the movie franchise it's kinda hard to create a problem when our original hybrids can one shot the big bads

The thing that almost everyone seems to have forgotten is William, despite being the only one who was not a hybrid of any kind at the time of his death, was still kicking ass, including BOTH Selene & Michael's for most of their fight and landed a few really good hits on him. All the while he was NOT at full strength nor did he eat anything in centuries. William only lost due to both plot armor and the lack of hunger. Had he been turned into a hybrid, I'd say the battles would had been a bit different.
I absolutely agree that William was badass. The little we see of him after his release is pretty damned impressive, and that was after being encased in stone and starved for a few centuries. Let alone in his prime. However, he also seemed like a pretty dumb brute most of the time. And that removes a major component of overall power.
William also had one more thing against him beside the hunger and not in his prime. Pure unbridled rage it would have clouded his ability to fight smartly. I.e in a fight of the strongest he may win but as shown with the helicopter he was incapable of strategy.
There is no evidence eating would matter. There is no reference about lycans needing to eat, or William. The third movie shows the lycans' slaves having to divide little soup among many and they were all jacked still. Hunger could even spike their aggressiveness. We don't know. William was looking brand new. Marcus didn't saw a need to take food for him. There seem to be evidence that it doesn't make a difference.

I'm not convinced by that. While I think his blood is special, it never shows him to be a force like Marcus or William whose blood was mutated further with animal blood. Like hybrids are stronger than both vampire and lycan, it would make some sense that a vampire and or werewolf would be stronger than Alexander, who in essence is still just human, a powerful one though.
Great video And I know it’s extremely unlikely now but I’d personally love to see a crossover film with the underworld films with blade and resident evil. Mainly because there all beloved franchises and it would be a great treat for a lot of fans.

Kinda hard to put alexander anywhere since all of his power scaling relies on the lore and what other people say about him so it’s almost entirely subjective, personally i would say he is the strongest since a small amount of his blood was enough to make selene borderline unstoppable, that being said i can understand if people are hesitant to put him on the top since we just have nothing solid to work with

Her father is Corvinus descended Lycan/Vampire hybrid. According to genetics this makes Eve 3/4 Vampire/Lycan Corvinus descendant. Secondly, Michael should definitely be on this list. He went toe to toe with 2 elders and lost only due to inexperience. And he defeated William in a one on one fight. Not to mention literally came back from death. C'mon bro.

They didn't really flared much how a hybrid is made and who can be a hybrid. There is one or two lines in the entire serie talking about and it's very odd that one simply need to drink blood from the other Corvinus strain and be a descendent of his bloodline. The child from Lucian and Sonja wouldn't even be a hybrid per se, but another specie. The hybrids are just enhancements of the strains in one descendant, a combination, not a fusion.

I don't think Marcus was a hybrid, he just drank a blood of a lycan, which woke him up and eyes turned black because of his bat transformation. He never really looked like hybrid for starters and he didn't have extra powers too. He was just like that and because he was the first, he was able to drink anybody's blood. He was pure Vampire, never a hybrid

I was always curious on what would happen if they gave William vampire blood and he became a hybrid. I'm assuming he'd be able to get his mind back and be able to transform at will so not sure why Marcus never tried to do that.

i personally would have put Micheal at number 5 and Marcus at number 4 as he might just be one of the fastest characters in the movies as when ever he fights an opponent he quickly speed blitzes them as well as he has only ever relay lost one fight to Marcus when he was still in his human form everything else he ever came up against he slaughtered

I believe Corvinus to be a figure from THIRTEENTH (1300’s) century adherents of Jan Hus, martyred like Jesus Christ was over a thousand years earlier. Adherents known as “Hussites” are thought to be “early Protestants” who were considered brothers to Luther and his ilk in the 1500’s. Unfortunately the opposition to Catholic indulgences among other things happened to spark a power struggle in the thirty years war of the 1500-1600’s. It was also overcrowded in Europe at that time. Among other things this did prompt many early Protestants to “move out” of the parental home of Europe to new areas in America, notably Quakers & Puritans, in successive “great awakenings.” Modern scholars might think of their own personal heritage and make those connections to that time

So for somebody who knows a little bit of history it’s just funny.
The whole magical ritual at the Nordic coven was such a huge mistake in tone for the series. Underworld's supernatural elements being very grounded is what helped it blend so well with both historical and modern settings. And all for super speed, which hybrids could already do to some degree anyway, shown when Michael transformed for the first time. I genuinely believe the director was just like uh... what haven't we done yet? Oh, superpowers!
Can you imagine if they put the same effort into the underworld story & mythology/lore they they do in Star Wars or etc, it is a untapped resource that could have spinoff & other characters and convents. It is an amazing story and people want more, we don’t necessarily need Selene but it’s nice to have her.

Selene was not wrapped in the cloth she done her northern covent transformation after her fight with Marius when she nearly died she then returns with the speed and the northern covent she wasnt wrapped in no cloth

I haven't watched the video yet but based on my extensive rewatching of all 5 films I'm ranking them least to strongest: Marcus, William, Michael (based on potential because he was the lamest hybrid in the show but could have been the strongest), Eve, and finally Selene.

Selene gained a spike of strenght after taking his blood, to the point of "impressing" Marcus as soon as they cross at the flooded cave. Alexander being the father of them all should, supposedly, have all their strenghts, heightned, but not the hybrid or "animal-inspired" powers.
I wish they’d make one more movie that satisfies fans and wraps up everything nicely. Bring Michael back by Selene finding his dried up corpse and using her resurrection ability on him.

From what I've seen of Underworld, theres quite a number of different hybrid types:
- Corvinus type which is Alexander, Marcus, William, and Michael
- Corvinus Hybrid Born - Selene & Michael's daughter
- Experimental Hybrid - The Super Werewolf and Marius
- The Natural Hybrid - Lucien & Sonya's unborn child
- Corvinus Enhanced - Selene & Super Werewolf's father (and that woman who tried to take over but died shortly after)
One bit to note, Amelia was a member of the Nordic Coven. And while Viktor was considered one of the strongest vampires, I think we can all agree that Selene got lucky when she surprise-killed him, given that he took down Raze in Lycan form with ease and nearly killed Michael when Michael was fully transformed.
And I do agree we need a film or at least tv series that details the events of Alexander, Marcus, William, Viktor, and Amelia from the events of when that plague hit to the end of the Lycan-Vampire war. Would be awesome to get that gap in the story unveiled.

When selene fought Victor she was definitely weaker but current selene is very powerful. She fought toe to toe with Marcus on his hybrid form and he is not slouch he has been around for ages. And like the majority of vampires they get stronger as they get older. Selene with corvinus enhanced and other world resurrection powers she can easily kill victor on his prime.
Viktor is such an interesting case in that had Selene not caught him off guard he would've won. Had Viktor not been so stuck-up and accepted hybridism he would've easily stomped most of the main cast. Hell he basically pimp slaps everyone to death besides Michael in his hybrid form. Had the plot not had him throwing people so much and just get down to business he would easily be a top contender.

Selene's new ability is almost like teleportatioon.
In the fourth film, when she invades the werewolf building during the day, she already has super speed. She covers a good distance walking, after she gets out of the car.
In the first movie she moves so fast the humans cannot even follow her with their eyes, in the scene she saves Michael who was getting shot.
Viktor also moves like he was teleporting when he kills the nobleman in the third movie.
Michael "teleported" multiple times against Viktor.

Seline is ranked #1 due to amazingly strong plot armor and the gramps buff. It is debatable if the gramps buff and the coven blessings are part of the plot armor. Experts are still debating this. She was already an absolute badass prior to the aforementioned armor.

Isn't plot armour everywhere, even old literature and paganism. My only gripe is that they powered up Selene too quickly knowing that Michael was already the key character and made his unique Hybrid existence mundane in less than a week.

I think you might be a little off on the power scaling I think vampires do move superhuman speeds but you mostly see them Through The Eyes of other Supernaturals because in the second movie when Michael is being chased down by the police and Selene shows up to save him Selene is moving so fast it almost seems like she's teleporting according to the polices perspective

Im surprised Michael isn't on this list since he was considered the strongest hybrid early in the series and even at the end of the series he's still considered one of the most powerful characters in the franchise but since we only saw Michael in two movies really we didn't get to see enough of his power so it's makes sense why he's not on the list

So if Victor was Turned by Marcus, which at the time he was a Vampire Dominant Immortal with the Corvinus Strain, wouldn't Victor have the Corvinus Blood also coursing through his veins? Like Selene as well. Even Cogan said "you can be a hybrid if you have the Corvinus Strain or Bloodline. Selene becomes Corvinus Inhanced Dominate Vampire with full Immunity to Sunlight: which Marcus if you remember in the vehicle scene, he too could fly I believe in the evening light, that's where he flew to fight Selene/Michael on the highway..

Micheal has more screen time than everybody not named Selene, so we've seen him do more than everybody but her.

The thing that almost everyone seems to have forgotten is William, despite being the only one who was not a hybrid of any kind at the time of his death, was still kicking ass, including BOTH Selene & Michael's for most of their fight and landed a few really good hits on him. All the while he was NOT at full strength nor did he eat anything in centuries. William only lost due to both plot armor and the lack of hunger. Had he been turned into a hybrid, I'd say the battles would had been a bit different.
True that they even do 2v1 for a short time.
I absolutely agree that William was badass. The little we see of him after his release is pretty damned impressive, and that was after being encased in stone and starved for a few centuries. Let alone in his prime. However, he also seemed like a pretty dumb brute most of the time. And that removes a major component of overall power.
William also had one more thing against him beside the hunger and not in his prime. Pure unbridled rage it would have clouded his ability to fight smartly. I.e in a fight of the strongest he may win but as shown with the helicopter he was incapable of strategy.
There is no evidence eating would matter. There is no reference about lycans needing to eat, or William. The third movie shows the lycans' slaves having to divide little soup among many and they were all jacked still. Hunger could even spike their aggressiveness. We don't know. William was looking brand new. Marcus didn't saw a need to take food for him. There seem to be evidence that it doesn't make a difference.

I think if Alexander Corvinus would fight, he would be unstoppable. He's literally the one who started the feast.
I'm not convinced by that. While I think his blood is special, it never shows him to be a force like Marcus or William whose blood was mutated further with animal blood. Like hybrids are stronger than both vampire and lycan, it would make some sense that a vampire and or werewolf would be stronger than Alexander, who in essence is still just human, a powerful one though.
I would have to agree, he’s the oldest and most powerful. Selene knows he can stop Marcus and yet he can’t bring himself to do it.

Her father is Corvinus descended Lycan/Vampire hybrid. According to genetics this makes Eve 3/4 Vampire/Lycan Corvinus descendant. Secondly, Michael should definitely be on this list. He went toe to toe with 2 elders and lost only due to inexperience. And he defeated William in a one on one fight. Not to mention literally came back from death. C'mon bro.

And you're right, William wouldn't be considered an elder but he would be the source: again Tainus stated to Selene: "That Marcus warned Victor, if William(the first would be killed) it be Death of all his slaves aka werewolves or Lycans.. and like Tainus, he used them to guard his tomb as well for centuries..
And if Marcus was called, it might have been the death of all future vampires. That's why Amelia(leader of the Nordic coven) Victor and Marcus rulers of Eastern covens agreed(one vampire sleeps and two rules) then they would change centuries later

It was his way to monopolize power. And since the other two were asleep they couldn't do anything about it. Even if it was their turns to reign.

They didn't really flared much how a hybrid is made and who can be a hybrid. There is one or two lines in the entire serie talking about and it's very odd that one simply need to drink blood from the other Corvinus strain and be a descendent of his bloodline. The child from Lucian and Sonja wouldn't even be a hybrid per se, but another specie. The hybrids are just enhancements of the strains in one descendant, a combination, not a fusion.
@@dsoul1305 It's very odd, because it doesn't make sense that Selene got buffed this much without being of the Corvinus lineage. With just a few sips of Corvinus blood she killed Alexander's own full blood hybrid vampire son Marcus who had 1200+ years on her and was a very experienced fighter.

I don't think Marcus was a hybrid, he just drank a blood of a lycan, which woke him up and eyes turned black because of his bat transformation. He never really looked like hybrid for starters and he didn't have extra powers too. He was just like that and because he was the first, he was able to drink anybody's blood. He was pure Vampire, never a hybrid

I believe Corvinus to be a figure from THIRTEENTH (1300’s) century adherents of Jan Hus, martyred like Jesus Christ was over a thousand years earlier. Adherents known as “Hussites” are thought to be “early Protestants” who were considered brothers to Luther and his ilk in the 1500’s. Unfortunately the opposition to Catholic indulgences among other things happened to spark a power struggle in the thirty years war of the 1500-1600’s. It was also overcrowded in Europe at that time. Among other things this did prompt many early Protestants to “move out” of the parental home of Europe to new areas in America, notably Quakers & Puritans, in successive “great awakenings.” Modern scholars might think of their own personal heritage and make those connections to that time

@@dsoul1305 true this is Hungarians/ Maghiars where still on the Volga around the 5th century the region of what is today Hungary at that time was in a constant flux of changing peoples from the Romans to the goths to the Alans to the Huns, Gepids, Lombards and so on the idea of modern day Hungary appeared around the 10 century! So for somebody who knows a little bit of history it’s just funny.
The whole magical ritual at the Nordic coven was such a huge mistake in tone for the series. Underworld's supernatural elements being very grounded is what helped it blend so well with both historical and modern settings. And all for super speed, which hybrids could already do to some degree anyway, shown when Michael transformed for the first time. I genuinely believe the director was just like uh... what haven't we done yet? Oh, superpowers!
Can you imagine if they put the same effort into the underworld story & mythology/lore they they do in Star Wars or etc, it is a untapped resource that could have spinoff & other characters and convents. It is an amazing story and people want more, we don’t necessarily need Selene but it’s nice to have her.

Selene was not wrapped in the cloth she done her northern covent transformation after her fight with Marius when she nearly died she then returns with the speed and the northern covent she wasnt wrapped in no cloth

I have to agree this whole series was awesome. Ive seen every movie multiple times. Just wish Kate beckinsale was down to do another one. I'd like to see a story in which she's an elder.
I haven't watched the video yet but based on my extensive rewatching of all 5 films I'm ranking them least to strongest: Marcus, William, Michael (based on potential because he was the lamest hybrid in the show but could have been the strongest), Eve, and finally Selene.
welp, I guess my predictions were wrong. I don't believe Alexander should be in the mainly because he was just immortal, he didn't have any powers.
How the hell is William, Michael and Eve stronger than Marcus? I can get the confusion on thinking Selene, the MC, is the strongest ( she isn't ), but what the hell with the rest of the ranking?
@@theoluwasavagexd1059 Alexander have powers, supposedly, but he didn't want to use any on his son. Selene gained a spike of strenght after taking his blood, to the point of "impressing" Marcus as soon as they cross at the flooded cave. Alexander being the father of them all should, supposedly, have all their strenghts, heightned, but not the hybrid or "animal-inspired" powers.

I also considered that Seline brought a dude back from the dead. Though not combat power, that is massive.
I wish they’d make one more movie that satisfies fans and wraps up everything nicely. Bring Michael back by Selene finding his dried up corpse and using her resurrection ability on him.
