Is the Scram 411 a better buy than the Himalayan? : PowerDrift

  • Same same but different! Based on the same 411cc engine, the Royal Enfield Himalayan and the Scram 411 are nearly identical. However, when it comes to saddle time, the experience is quite different for both motorcycles. While the Scram focuses primarily on city riding, the Himalayan comes in handy when the roads get bad. Which one makes more sense? Shumi and Varun Painter are back once again. Shumi and Varun Painter are back once again to find out if the scrambler is better than the ADV.

    I test rode both and found the Scram to be more enjoyable. The small changes have indeed added up to a significant change in the riding experience. The front end felt more connected and the more basic instrument readout makes you focus more on riding and less on checking one's blood pressure!
    The missing items of utility on the Scram vs the Himalayan are not minor. The lack of switchable ABS is a huge miss and the rear ABS cuts in at the thought of touching the rear brake. I would much rather take out the fuse indefinitely. The reduced ground clearance may be an issue once in a while and the Scram misses out on the tank rails which are great for shifting some luggage weight forward and balancing out the bike.
    But then you buy a bike to have fun too. Also, you don't ride the brochure. You ride the motorcycle. So, how it feels to ride and how it makes you feel is important.

    • @AJ-oc1uj
      @AJ-oc1uj 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its not going to go faster with 6th gear, number of gears don't affect the top speed of the engine. It's 24bhp that's all it can do.

    What a strange dilemma. The RE scram looks meh 👎🏼 but the Yezdi scram is a beaut.😍 Whereas the Yezdi adventure looks meh 👎🏼 but the Himalayan is a beaut. 😍. 😅😅😅😅😂
    P.S. not a hate comment. Just a fun personal opinion based only on looks. All four bikes are great in their respective fields.

    I rode both. Scram feels small compared to Himalayan. Handlebars felt too close and proportions didn't feel right for me. I'm 6 feet tall. I think Scram is for people who find Himalayan too much.

    If the new one is a scram 450, Himalayan should culminate into the 650 family, it would also look cool, with the meteor there, and classic also in the works.

    royal Enfield should go for 650 engine, make it a tiger 660 like a bike in an affordable price range , more into touring segment

    Honestly i don't get the point of the scram, it's just a fancy Himalayan that doesn't really want to go off-road. Hima have everything that you need for a daily use, off-road use, or trip use. Scram just loose everything to gain some colors and aesthetic. An 18 inch wheel doesn't make it a street bike, but neither an off-road one. I personally don't like things that stand in the middle of nowhere.

    I would pick the new Himalayan. This Scram is good but its just a response to Yezdi and will delay the new Himalayan launch. That's why it's frustrating

      @J GURURAJ it's a good bike. Just delaying the new Himalayan, that's all I am saying.
      The new Himalayan is supposed to be way better but they are giving a good bike now instead of focusing on a great bike first.
