    This is absolutely wonderful!
    I'm native Hawaiian and have always wanted to learn Polynesian dance, but i live in Texas. My mom wanted to teach me, but then she hurt her back and couldn't dance any more.
    Thank you for being our teacher and a wonderful resource 🙏 I'm having so much fun doing what I've wanted to do my whole life! Thank you for everything :)

    Hi Abby. I've just come across your video's this evening, it is a joy to watch you. I was wondering about doing the movements as to how long they take to master as well ad to weight loss. I am a sister from Liverpool, England and look forward to hearing from you 🤗. Warm and best regards 🙃🥰.

    • @AbbyQuiet
      @AbbyQuiet  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Allison! Nice to hear from you all the way from England! The time is takes Mastering the moves depends partly on talent and partly on dedication and practice. Once you have the basic technique you can do any dance. It’s a great workout. A 45 min warm up once a week with healthy eating is a great start!

    Absolutely love your videos!! You're an amazing kumu. I would really love to learn, for cultural purposes & to get back in touch with my polynesian roots. Also for exercise which I know I would really enjoy. Silly question, do the hula steps you teach also apply to male hula dancers? I'm a male & I would love to learn basics of male hula. Also tahitian dance eventually. Any help would be amazing. I would love to learn more from you! Mahalo nui for everything you do! Keeps me going! 🤙🏼

    • @AbbyQuiet
      @AbbyQuiet  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Francis San Diego oh please I am NOT Kumu.That is a title that is earned I am no where near as knowledgeable as a Kumu hula . Deep study and years of language, history, and so much more experience then I could ever give. I’m just a lover of hula who enjoys sharing what very very little I know. Thank you I’m so happy you enjoy the videos😘

    Can you tell us what the steps are? Like are you doing the tamau at first or just the awaying susau?

    • @AbbyQuiet
      @AbbyQuiet  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      1kunoichi1 tamau- when the music is faster it looks like susua. You can always switch it around to what feels right. Thanks for your comment!

    Yes,
    yes, I mean the steps that are done in cunclillas, for example, the varu, ami, etc.

      @@AbbyQuietbueno amiguita hermosa, me falla un poquito el ingles, pero bueno. Ojalá y me pudieras entender.
      Sobre lo que me dijiste de los niveles en los pasos, si, a eso me referia, así como tu vídeo de faarapu levels.
      No sé si está en tus posibilidades de que subieras un vídeo de todos los pasos realizados en cuclillas así como varu, ami, etc. Me despido y ojalá y me pudieras hacer caso, te mando un saludo desde Tlalnepantla, state of Mexico😙😘😘😘

      Thank you! My friends translated for me. I can make a video of each dance move with traveling and levels, 1 video for 1 move. Or. All dance moves in 1 video only going up and down
