To exit service mode: do the same thing as entering service mode: rotate cycle selector to any position except 6, press start and FS button at same time, wait 3 seconds, rotate cycle selector to 6, wait 3 seconds, release both buttons.
If you are having a speed sensor issue. The speed sensor is located on the motor. It's a 40 dollar part and is easy to change. Don't buy a new motor!!! The sensor and the sensor clip are sold separately so by both parts tossup them out. Mine has went out twice since I have owned the machine and both times its fixed the problem. This video is great for this machine and it tells you almost everything to know. Thanks for taking. the time to do it.

I'm helping my neighbor with his washer. It is making a horrendous sound because the gears are not fully engaging on the transmission causing it to slip. This has manifested as an ON/SPIN error code in diagnostics. thanks for these videos, they are a big help.

Idk if you check this anymore but recently got a brand new washer GE a week ago worked fine. Now it won't fill with water. It does the 2 pumps and after waiting 10 seconds it doesn't do anything and shuts off...did the diagnostic and showing no codes but tested both cold and hot side and it fills like it should. Take it out of diagnostic and it continues to not fill

Same here.. The dryer part of my stacker just doesn't start. The belt and pulley are intact but there's no noise or buzzing sound when I press the on button..

When spin button is pushed, the spin thing a ma jig contraption with teeth and motor works great after the decade it takes to slowly connect the teeth... The motor starts to spin and air is blowing in the wind... How can it spin with the belt attached and the belt in protest not moving rebellion still? Wouldn't the belt break or fly off or the motor not spin? Is this magic from those legendary Atlantis/Tartaria genius inventor's?😮😂 Basically, everything is working but the belt but it's attached.... What would you voice about that per chance or happenstance? Fictitiously speaking of course?❤❤❤😊
Dear Mr. Bearded Guy, Want to start off letting you know I am a retired divorced woman on a pretty tight budget, That being said, I am having trouble with my GE stackable and after watching countless videos (yours are the best)I have learned how to diagnose. The issue seems to be when in diagnosis mode and clicked to heavy after a few minutes it works but when it is switched to light, it does nothing. The rinse and spin lights are green. My understanding is that the problem is with the drain pump. It does not appear to be clogged from looking at it (unless I need to take those hoses off to know for sure) Is it possible for you to post a video on how to change the drain pump? I would greatly appreciate it. Either way, thank you for posting these videos as they are super helpful. Sincerely Margie
I have a ge stackable. When I turn on the power or plug it in. It blinks the lid lock. When I have the dial in the 12 o’clock position and hold frantic softener button and start for a few seconds and then turn dial to 6 o’clock position I get no blink except for the lid lock. All other lights are lit up. Except the lid lock is still blinking. Every other dial zone displays the same results. If unplug the lid lock part and put it back on the machine will run properly for at least one load then the problem starts over.
Nice video, very helpful. According to the diagnostic I've got a bad pressure switch or mother board. How do I test the pressure switch & clean the diaphragm? The machine starts to fill, stops , then goes into wash mode without water BUT if I disconnect diaphragm hose until water fills up to correct level, it works perfectly! Thoughts?
This is great information and appreciate the time you spent getting out to the world. I have the Kenmore version of this unit in our rental and walked through the diagnostics procedure you detailed to find out why it was not running. I had the blocked motor error (on light and spin light). I took the front cover off and found socks and panties inside the cabinet with one of the panties being wrapped around the motor pulley assembly. What I have observed is when in the agitate test, the motor tries to engage with a couple pulses (a couple relay clicks) and then engages solid for about 2-3 seconds and then the motor stops and the spin light flashes. I hit the play/pause again and the motor starts agains for about 1 second and turns off. When I drained the tub and tried the spin feature, a couple clicks with the motor engaging with the clutch and it took right off. Any thoughts on why it will not agitate but will spin? I can rotate the pulley but noticed it does not glide as well as yours in the video when you gave it a push. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
Have the same issue. I just bought it used. Socks must have jammed the motor and ripped off 2 little wires. Don't know where they connect to, need to call a serviceman unless someone can tell me where they attach to. Looks like a pink and a blueish green.
Have you seen where all the lights come on and stay solid (no blinking)? When I run through the test mode, the lights still stay solid. I'm leaning towards the main control board as the problem.
This is a great video - thank you very much!! Is there a way to bypass the lid lock switch? There is probably a way to connect / disconnect wires in order to bypass the switch and magnet combo. In Canada, the replacement part is over $100!
The machine works fine in all temperature combinations with the exception of Hot/Cold. Will stop the washing process until about 15 to 20 minutes and will resume

Ive got a technician coming out on Wednesday. But, I had a new machine installed and it was working. Now, the machine powers on, I press "Start", the lights go to "Wash" but no water is coming out. And, yes, the water is turned on. Where is my water lol.
I have a stackable unit and it is a real pain in the you know what! I cleared the error codes (don't know what the code was or what it meant) and then tried to restart the machine... After restarting the machine using the same wash cycle setting it goes back to rinse cycle and then it fills and empties, fills and empties, fills and empties, fills and empties.... doesn't spin at all or do anything else. I just changed the cycle setting from heavy to medium and now it's finally beginning to spin and do something different. No idea... At least I'll know to look for an error code next time I have this problem. This is happened to me on numerous occasions. Usually, if I just reset it it goes back to normal operation.
Great video. How can I have separate power cords for the washer and dryer? Currently my GE stackable washer and dryer combo had only one cord. However I understand the washer and dryer have separate circuits so in theory is it possible to separate the power input such that the washer and dryer each has it own separate power cord? Thanks.

I know it's a year old video but if you happen to check comments, why would I get flashing "on & rinse" lights every time I try to wash a blanket. I have to pull the blanket out and then it works again. And will finish washing blanket.

Hi señor, I was wondering if you could help me, my washer has stopped filling with water, but 1. I’ve replaced the inlet valve, 2. I’ve diagnosed it and no error codes come up, and 3. The only thing it does do is turn on, the you select a wash then it pours water in the tank 2 times then locks the door then nothing. I can’t figure it out, can you help me please?

No matter what i do. it will NOT fill up with any amount of water!! the code says belt ,according to my son..... but i never saw any washer that would not fill because of the belt... everything else on the washer seems to be workng fine...just low low water level.. actually not enough water to wash out the suds from the clothes... im stumped.... excellent video and explanations sir!! 100--100

@@jenniferperez9937 I understand that typically means the control board is bad. It would be great if Bearded Appliance Repair would reply. I have that issue now, and the unit fills as soon as the water is turned on to inlets. Rotary switch is set to off and don't even need to push the Start button.
Your videos helped me do some troubleshooting, but still stumped. Both washer and dryer seem to turn off about the time the washer hits spin. Replaced the door switch that was bad and it now passes. Any ideas?

I have a blocked motor code. In the test settings it try’s to agitate but stops. In the spin mode it clunks then will spin. The motor when turned by hand turns smoothly as does the drum. What do you think it is.

What about some info on speed sensor on the motor and is location. On the blocked motor code? Clothes caught in the motor can pull that sensor off the motor
hey dude thanks for the help, was wondering if that little fan thing on the motor is real important, I just pulled the motor on my GE stack and that looks like the only thing that is busted. It was really loose and melted. I think that is why its giving me an error. Thanks for your advice. Frog

Hi, I have a problem with my ge stackable and I can't really figure out what is wrong with it. I went through all the diagnostics on it and nothing was wrong so I thought that maybe it needed reset so I unplugged it. So I thought I would run a very small load and see what it does. It filled in with water and when that was done the agitation started and then stopped then my wash light started blinking so I pushed the start button and the agitator started then stopped. As long as I kept hitting that start button it would agitate. Any thoughts on this.
@@tolliver4056 I just encountered this exact same situation, but I did not know how to pull up or interpret error codes. I need to go back to the customer and do some tests and pull up the error codes, but from what I have read, I think I may have a bad motor speed sensor.
Now my washer is stuck in washing and notting is wrong i just placed some pant inside ans is flashing and the lid lock is on what wrong with it immnot have and trouble with it for 3 year now is stuck ANSWER FOR ME LOL ( for this trouble place the knob To off ans wait is reset iself)

Ive got a technician coming out on Wednesday. But, I had a new machine installed and it was working. Now, the machine powers on, I press "Start", the lights go to "Wash" but no water is coming out. And, yes, the water is turned on. Where is my water lol.
We are having a problem that the washer will only work if the dryer is running. Why is that
I have a stackable unit and it is a real pain in the you know what! I cleared the error codes (don't know what the code was or what it meant) and then tried to restart the machine... After restarting the machine using the same wash cycle setting it goes back to rinse cycle and then it fills and empties, fills and empties, fills and empties, fills and empties.... doesn't spin at all or do anything else. I just changed the cycle setting from heavy to medium and now it's finally beginning to spin and do something different. No idea... At least I'll know to look for an error code next time I have this problem. This is happened to me on numerous occasions. Usually, if I just reset it it goes back to normal operation.

Great video. How can I have separate power cords for the washer and dryer? Currently my GE stackable washer and dryer combo had only one cord. However I understand the washer and dryer have separate circuits so in theory is it possible to separate the power input such that the washer and dryer each has it own separate power cord? Thanks.
Hi, thank you for this video is good stuff, I have a question mi GE washer/dryer combo is not washing, before the washing process the wash light is just blinking and stays right there, I turned the mob and the same light blinking, that is the only light on, any ideas what could be? Thank you
One thing not mentioned, from fill to wash, wash to drain, drain to spin all has to be pressed manually? Show’s no error codes
I know it's a year old video but if you happen to check comments, why would I get flashing "on & rinse" lights every time I try to wash a blanket. I have to pull the blanket out and then it works again. And will finish washing blanket.
What if the lights don't flash?? Did exactly what you said for diagnostic and all of the lights turn on except for the lid lock, but they don't flash. Thanks!!

Hi señor, I was wondering if you could help me, my washer has stopped filling with water, but 1. I’ve replaced the inlet valve, 2. I’ve diagnosed it and no error codes come up, and 3. The only thing it does do is turn on, the you select a wash then it pours water in the tank 2 times then locks the door then nothing. I can’t figure it out, can you help me please?
Not receiving any error codes, but my lid lock does not activate during a regular cycle. It does activate while in diagnostics though?

No matter what i do. it will NOT fill up with any amount of water!! the code says belt ,according to my son..... but i never saw any washer that would not fill because of the belt... everything else on the washer seems to be workng fine...just low low water level.. actually not enough water to wash out the suds from the clothes... im stumped.... excellent video and explanations sir!! 100--100

@@jenniferperez9937 I understand that typically means the control board is bad. It would be great if Bearded Appliance Repair would reply. I have that issue now, and the unit fills as soon as the water is turned on to inlets. Rotary switch is set to off and don't even need to push the Start button.

Your videos helped me do some troubleshooting, but still stumped. Both washer and dryer seem to turn off about the time the washer hits spin. Replaced the door switch that was bad and it now passes. Any ideas?

I have a GE stackable . Status codes all green except Lid Locked. Machine will go into a discharge cycle without spinning on its own... Any ideas ? Aloso water is leaking from what I can tell is from the water hose connections. Thanks
What if the lights don't blink after holding the buttons and turning knob to 6 o'clock?
I have a blocked motor code. In the test settings it try’s to agitate but stops. In the spin mode it clunks then will spin. The motor when turned by hand turns smoothly as does the drum. What do you think it is.
At the start of this process the lights on my machine do not flash but just light up steady

Hey I have this particular model and the dryer won't heal up, I've checked all of the electrical for the breaker to the outlet and the dryer,all is ok there. I don't want to just Start replacing things unnecessarily and waste money, any suggestions on diagnosing?

I am unable to enter into service mode using the instruction. Keeps blinking critical error code regardless of what I do to try and enter service mode. Suggestions?

What about some info on speed sensor on the motor and is location. On the blocked motor code? Clothes caught in the motor can pull that sensor off the motor
How do you replace the speed sensor on a stackable washer and dryer?
hey dude thanks for the help, was wondering if that little fan thing on the motor is real important, I just pulled the motor on my GE stack and that looks like the only thing that is busted. It was really loose and melted. I think that is why its giving me an error. Thanks for your advice. Frog

Hi, I have a problem with my ge stackable and I can't really figure out what is wrong with it.
I went through all the diagnostics on it and nothing was wrong so I thought that maybe it needed reset so I unplugged it.
So I thought I would run a very small load and see what it does.
It filled in with water and when that was done the agitation started and then stopped then my wash light started blinking so I pushed the start button and the agitator started then stopped. As long as I kept hitting that start button it would agitate.
Any thoughts on this.

@@tolliver4056 I just encountered this exact same situation, but I did not know how to pull up or interpret error codes. I need to go back to the customer and do some tests and pull up the error codes, but from what I have read, I think I may have a bad motor speed sensor.
You think you can show how to replace those parts?
My laundry center does have read any error code right now but it screeches while agitating and coming down off a spin cycle. SOS.
Now my washer is stuck in washing and notting is wrong i just placed some pant inside ans is flashing and the lid lock is on what wrong with it immnot have and trouble with it for 3 year now is stuck ANSWER FOR ME LOL ( for this trouble place the knob To off ans wait is reset iself)
