Bodylastics are the absolute best tube style bands out there! I’ve got two curl bars, one for one and a travel bar set. I’ve been training with bands exclusively since 2017 and use loop style too. As far as tube style, I’m a bodylastics customer for life! They’ve got a machine coming out that is gonna change the game!!
What kind of machine, please? I've been using the bands since 2018, maybe earlier...it will be on my Amazon UK account somewhere...they are great...game-changer for training...use it for boxing and swimming moves mostly...and leg exs...
Hello Dave, My name is Jose and I am a new subscriber from Puerto Rico. I purchased the Bodylastics complete set that you showcased in your opening. I subscribed with the intention of getting back in shape using these resistance bands. Although I am 67 years old, I am hopeful that this video will motivate me to start a structured workout regimen. I believe that Bodylastics products are one of the best available in the market. In fact, I still own a detachable bar that I bought from them way back in the 1990s. It was a two-piece bar that you hooked and twisted together and then pushed a button to lock in place. I am pleased to inform you that it is still fully functional.
I've had the Bodylastics bands for over 10 years. Particularly the T.O. Bands (Bodylastics Terrell Owens edition). I must say, they are the *BEST* in the industry! Mine are *still* in excellent condition and have build lots of muscle mass with them. 💯. Awesome review man.
@@DisciplineDave There was one! I still have my TO edition from 2009 and they're still in good condition! You should contact Blake (the owner) about trying out the new machine, Flexicon.
Wanted to say thank you. I used your Amazon link to purchase the bands, bar, and some supplements as appreciation. I've had chronic health issues for awhile, which has led to years of being sedentary. Your videos motivated me to move forward with starting a new exercise routine in hopes of regaining some muscle. I look forward to watching more.
I got a first generation set with 275lbs of resistance that I got from a friend, always wanted to start using it but never really knew how to implement the exercises. Definitely will start checking out your channel
@@DisciplineDave My biggest problem is I have to find out another alternative for anchor points. All my doors in my house are either in a corner or a hallway with narrow rang of motion.
Great video! Informative and entertaining. You are correct about the value and quality of Bodylastics bands. I learned the hard way "you get what you pay for" with a couple sets of cheap bands. After those experiences, I didn't want to risk getting another cheap set only to have a band snap after a month or two. I got a set of Bodylastics, and am absolutely satisfied with them. At their price point, they're still affordable, and offer good value for what you're paying for. It would be interesting if they ever decided to get into producing loop bands.
Ive had both the warrior set and basic set for five years. I use them in most of my workouts and when traveling. I have had five bands break in middle, but they weren't the ones with cord inside. The accessories are very good. I use ankle cuff and handles on my bowflex.
Bodylastics standard list of resistances is based on the 1st number. Here is a more realistic list from their website. 03-012lbs Yellow 05-020lbs Green 08-032lbs Red 13-052lbs Blue 19-076lbs Black 23-092lbs Purple 30-120lbs Orange 40-160lbs Grey 568 lb total.
I'm using reebok tube bands I like how they can be combined together to make different levels of resistance. Have you tried this product and what do you think about them.
Ok thanks for the review! I won’t buy from crappy amazon, but I’ll look for this brand. Last time I bought bands I got them at a thrift shop for shoulder rehab.
Just picked up the 3-30lbs bands set on fb market place for 50 to pair with my pump hooks I just purchased. I can hook them onto my dumbells and barbells to maximize each rep. Youre videos arw great btw, thank you.
I used your link, I hope it helps...thanks for all the tips on working out...I did get the warrior edition kit. I had a cheap brand therapy kit that lasted 5 months and the two lightest bands broke so I needed an update. I had 4-5 handles in each hand to use all the weight because the handles were attached so having them clip is going to be so much better. These are much heavier bands, the handles are so much better and having the 3 anchors and the 4 ankle straps is a total plus. Thanks again for the great routines and advice on this product. P.S. they didn't have the curl bar in stock or I would of purchased that kit but oh well what can you do.
I have these and a set of Clench Fitness loop bands. I feel that I have covered all angles, but I am not sure which to use for various muscle groups. It would be great if you could put out a series of videos that show mixed workout recommendations.
Maybe something along the lines of a full body workout using tubes for the upper body and loops for some squats and good mornings. Bands are great and I firmly believe that mixing and matching is the best way to go.
FYI: Living in Arizona, the air is very dry and I noticed my Bodylastics tubes were cracking, so I started storing them in an airtight storage container and it seems to preserve them.
I'm wondering what i should get resistance wise. I feel i need some lighter ones for bis and tris where im pretty strong. But i also need something with a lot of my resistance since my traps and upper back are strong from work. But my chest and lower back and legs are way out of shape. I was thinking of a set of tubes like these and a few flat bands, but I wasn't sure where to start resistance wise. I dont want to spend money to find there isn't enough resistance or too much
Just found your channel, watched this video and went straight to Amazon and purchased the $47 band set you recommended. The door rig and the bar are both out of stock right now. My husband and I are mid-60's, both in bad shape. We have a Max Trainer we're doing that 3 days a week, we have a sauna also. But now it's time to get serious about the muscle. Will watch your videos. Do you do individual coaching?
That’s great to hear. Currently I have a newborn at home so not at the moment. I have a bunch of videos on my channel that will guide you through workouts.
Great review, but lasting a year is no big deal. I first bought Bodylastics bands at least 14 years ago, then added a stronger double set a year or so later. A year or two ago some of the lighter ones started snapping-always at the end where the band connects to the hook fabric. I still have over half of the bands left including bands from the original set. I don't use them every day, but periodically-currently 3 times a week. So over a dozen years many are still in use. Not bad! These sets are so old they came with handles older than your 1 Gen and like your "other brands" have plain foam. (3 gens not two.) Never had an issue with them.
Bodylastics were the best bands. But things changed after Covid. Now, most items are continuously out of stock. The items most often in stocks now are scaled back "basic" bands that are nowhere the same high quality as the Bodylastic bands before Covid. I hope the better quality bands return soon.
I've been using this company's bands for 12 years they are the best. And a lifetime warranty. Just have to pay for shipping they send you a new one they very really break!!
Literally all my supposedly super-heavy, thick resistance bands are snapping after around 2 years. They're totally disintegrating. I just snapped my thickest one in two places, I'm so annoyed, lol
This brand I’ve never heard snapping. The rope in the middle prevents that. The only thing I’ve heard is that the silicone can shred around the rope if stored in an extremely dry place and unused for a long time, but they sell a lube restorer to prevent that from happening.
Dave I’m having issues with tricep pull downs. When I connect it to the top of the door and pull down the door opens for some reason. Now I’m scared of connecting to the bands to the top of the door what’s going on??
1. Use a door that can be locked and lock it. 2. Work on the side of the door where it closes towards you so you keep it closed while pulling on the bands. 3. Use the anywhere anchor and try anchoring with that to something more solid. I anchor to the steel pillars supporting the house in the basement. Nothing is moving but me.
Excellent review...but I have to give their website a big thumbs down because their inventory has been out of stock for 6 months and they don't have stuff available.
Tell the people in Bodylastics that I would buy their bands immediately if they just made them in pretty pastel colours. I don't know why they make them in those horrible primary colours. Literally any other colours would be better. Also, they don't sell them in Amazon Spain, apparently I would have to pay delivery from the US. I wouldn't mind paying for these instead of cheap ones because of the quality and safety but they are just not cute and it doesn't motivate me to train.

Yes, you definitely want a good set of tube bands (I like bodylastics) it will open up more exercises to target muscle groups in a different way

Mine has lbs too...
can you recommend another door hangar now? they seem to be sold out
Are they better than the torrobands?
Yes I like them better than Torro because of the accessories.
You get a wider selection of tension ratings so you can stack them and get a wider range of resistances to work with.

I don't see any loop bands on their site
Can you double up on bands? For instance, can I use a 5lb and add an 8lb to increase weight?
yes, that's the main appeal of bodylastics bands and what makes them different then other handle bands
Is there a chance that the door might break on high resistance bands? I’m just curious 👀
Never happened to me
